Meeting with the Professor
Part of the deal with Harleen being Wade's psychiatrist was that once, every end of the month, Harleen was supposed to meet up with Professor Xavier at his school to talk about Wade's sessions, and everything she'd learned. It was the end of the month, and Harleen travelled all the way to Westchester County in New York to visit the Xavier Institute for Gifted Youngsters. She went to the front, and then knocked on the door, waiting for whomever to answer. Answering the door was Colossus. "Ah Harleen, good to see you," he said, "Professor is expecting you. Please, do come in." Harleen nodded and went inside, closing the door, and followed Colossus to Xavier's office. "It's good to see you too Mistah Rasputin," replied Harleen as she looked around the school. She and Piotr then stopped, and he opened the door for her, saying, "After you." Harleen smiled and said, "Thank you Piotr. You're a true gentleman." Colossus smiled and said, "Pozhaluysta, Harleen."
She then went into Xavier's office, the door closing. "Good afternoon Harleen," Charles warmly said, smiling. "Afternoon ta you too, Professor," replied Harleen. "Before we begin our meeting, would you care for some tea?" offered Charles. "Yes, please," she replied. Charles then poured two cups of hot tea, giving one to Harleen. She sat down, blowing on tea to cool it down. "How are things with Mr. Wilson?" asked Charles as he took a sip of his tea. "Not too difficult," she replied, "aside from the occasional swear word or smart aleck comment; and believe me, as someone from Brooklyn, I'm used to it; he's been easy to work with. He's told me a lot more about his past." Charles nodded and said, "Go on."
"One of the few requests he's made was that I call him Deadpool," she admitted, "and I've obliged with his requests. So far, everyone's told me he's been more quiet..."
"Clearly you must be progressing with him," said the Professor. "He's actually afraid that nobody will believe what he's told me," admitted Harleen, "he's afraid a cynic will assume he's manipulating me. But I believe him. I know he's not manipulating anyone. Honestly, he's a better case than The Joker."
"That's probably not saying much," said Charles. "Ya ain't too far off on that Professor," she replied, "why last week, Joker manipulated one of the doctors to commit suicide." She took off her glasses and rubbed her eyes. The Joker scared her for obvious reasons, both professionally and personally.
"Oh my..." said the Professor. Harleen regained her composure as she put her glasses back on and said, "But aside from that, you'll be glad to know that Mr. Wilson is progressing well." After an hour of discussion, Harleen stood from her chair and said, "Thank you for the tea, Professor." He nodded and said, "Likewise Harleen, good luck with Mr. Wilson, and I'll see you next month for our next meeting." Harleen nodded and left the Institute, going outside. She smelled the fresh air. She decided to stop at one of the trees and got out her cell phone. She then decided to call her Uncle Louie. He was her favorite uncle. It had been too long since she talked to him. "Hello?" her uncle said on the phone. "Hey Uncle Louie," Harleen said, happy to hear his voice. "Harley?" Uncle Louie said, "It's so good to hear from ya kiddo!"
"It's good ta hear ya too Uncle Louie," Harleen happily said, "how've ya been?"
"Oh doing well," replied Uncle Louie, "but enough about me, let's talk about my favorite niece! How've ya been? How's work treatin' ya?"
"It ain't Office Space," joked Harleen, "but it's work. I feel great that I'm helping people. One case in particular's got me travellin' ta Westchester. Made me think of home, and you..."
"That's real sweet of ya kiddo," said Uncle Louie, "I sure do miss ya."
"I miss ya too Uncle Louie..." Harleen said sadly. "Hey, maybe we could meet up on one of your days off," Uncle Louie optimistically said. "That would be nice," said Harleen, "I love ya Uncle Louie."
"I love ya too kiddo," replied Uncle Louie as they both hung up. Harleen smiled and went back to her car, driving back to Gotham.
