Getting to know Wade
The next week, it was time for another session with Deadpool. Harleen went in the room, and saw Wade still in his suit and mask, with his straightjacket restraining him as he sat in the chair. "Afternoon Doctor," said Deadpool. "Hello Deadpool," she replied, "how are you doing today?" Wade moved his shoulders, "Well, my arms are falling asleep from this straightjacket," joked Deadpool, "but I'm ready for this session." Harleen smiled and sat down, and said, "Well that's good to know. If I remember correctly, we were talking about your past last week. Tell me more."
"Well, did I ever tell you about the time I legitimately fell in love for the first time? Like, for real?" asked Deadpool. She got out her notebook and pen, saying, "Tell me." Deadpool smiled, as if he was feeling nostalgic, sighing, "Her name was Vanessa Carlysle..." She nodded and said, "Go on."
"It was another night at the bar," Deadpool reminisced, "I had threatened to fuck up a would-be stalker a couple hours earlier. I think his name was Jeremy. Then, she walked in. She was so beautiful..."
As Deadpool said all this, Harleen had her legs crossed, mostly so that she could use her knee to hold her notebook to write in. As she was listening, her black high heeled shoe was dangling. Wade noticed this and said, "The same way you're attractive..." Harleen blushed and said, "Thank you, now what happened after that?"
"Well," continued Deadpool, "after talking with her, we got to know each other, and after awhile, we fell in love. Like, for real." Harleen nodded, taking notes. Deadpool sighed sadly, "But alas... things never last for a guy like me..."
"What happened?" she asked. "A good question," replied Deadpool, "for another time... But I'll give you a hint... It involves that asshole I attempted to kill before that Red Hood emo bitch interfered!" Harleen nodded, knowing he was mad thinking of these memories. He calmed down and said, "Sorry if I lost my temper."
"It's okay," said Harleen. For the next few hours, Wade talked about some of the happier times he had, and Harleen listened. "I never told anyone these in years..." Wade admitted, "I know someone like Batman might say I'm bullshitting you, but I'm not."
"I believe you," Harleen said with sincerity. "That's good to know," said Deadpool, who felt more safe. He looked at the clock and said, "Oh look, time's up."
"See you next week then?" asked Harleen. "You know you will," replied Deadpool, winking at her. Harleen stood up, picking up her file, and walked away as the guards were ready to take Wade back to his cell. She secretly smiled.
