CHAPTER 7

Next Day

As Yn entered the sleek, modern office that morning, her usual sense of purpose quickly dissolved when Mr. Choi gave her unexpected news. She blinked, taken aback.

"Mr. Choi, are you saying I'll be working as...Mr Jeon's secretary now?" Yn asked, her voice laced with uncertainty .

The news hit Yn like a wave. Her eyes widened in shock, and she stared at Mr. Choi, unsure of what to say. "Me? As Mr. Jeon's secretary?" she repeated, her voice a mixture of disbelief and worry. "But... Mr. Choi, how am I supposed to manage both positions?"

Mr. Choi gave a sympathetic smile, nodding in understanding. "I know it's a lot to ask, Yn. And, technically, I've also... well, lost some responsibilities in all this. But honestly, it'll be a big help having you around to manage things. Sometimes it's overwhelming to handle everything by myself."

Yn hesitated, glancing down at her hands as she weighed her options. Working under Jungkook was the last thing she wanted, but Mr. Choi was right-having her close might provide her with some protection.

Alright, Mr. Choi," Yn finally replied with a reluctant nod. "I'll do my best.

Mr. Choi's face brightened with relief. "Thank you, Yn. I knew I could rely on you. Now, I know this is a lot, but if you could help me out with a small favor, that would be great."

"Of course," Yn answered. "What do you need?"

"We have a very important meeting today," he explained, "and it would be a big help if you could set up the meeting room, make sure everything's in place-especially water bottles for everyone. Could you double-check the room and see if everything's ready?"

Sure thing," Yn replied, glad for the distraction. She quickly gathered a few water bottles and headed to the meeting room.

As Yn entered the meeting room, she felt the tension in the air. Several board members sat around the long table, all busy with papers and laptops. Jungkook was at the head of the table, his powerful presence drawing everyone's attention, though his eyes were solely on her as she quietly moved around the room, placing water bottles in front of each attendee.

"Good morning," she said politely, bowing toward the members, but avoided meeting Jungkook's gaze as she continued with her task.

The grand conference hall of Jeon Corporation gleamed with polished glass tables and modern decor, softened by warm lighting. Board members sat around, chatting among themselves as they waited for the meeting to start. Jungkook sat at the head of the table, his expression calm but watchful, his fingers loosely entwined on the table.

Across the table, one of the board members-a tall man in his early forties, with a sharp suit and an even sharper gaze-found his eyes drawn to Yn. His expression softened into a smile as he observed her delicate features, her serene concentration. His gaze lingered a bit too long, an almost predatory glint in his eyes as he watched her.

Jungkook, his expression unreadable, noticed the man's attention. His hands clenched beneath the table, his jaw tightening for a split second. But his face remained composed, giving no hint of the storm within him. This was neither the time nor place for him to react, but his gaze flickered toward the board member with an almost imperceptible warning.

As Yn placed a bottle before the absorbing man, she noticed his lingering gaze and offered a polite nod before moving on. The man's smile widened slightly .

Jungkook's gaze hardened as he watched the board member's audacious behavior. Remaining silent, he mentally marked this man for a "private discussion" later.

While everyone else was focused on their screens or shuffling documents, Jungkook's gaze followed her every move, taking in the nervous flicker in her eyes and the quick movements of her hands. The faintest smirk formed on his lips, and he leaned back in his chair, resting one hand casually on the table. To everyone else, he appeared composed and focused; to her, his presence felt magnetic and intimidating.

As she reached Jungkook's seat, she lowered her eyes and moved to place a bottle on the table in front of him. He shifted slightly, letting his foot slide forward just enough to brush against her shoe. Yn froze for a second, feeling his gaze burn into her as he looked up with a gaze that was both challenging and amused.

Be careful, baby," Jungkook murmured, just loud enough for her to hear.

Yn felt her heart race, but she masked her expression, giving him a brief nod as she placed the bottle down. She quickly moved to retreat, but his intense gaze followed her all the way across the room, making it difficult to ignore the unsettling feeling that he was watching her every move, studying her reactions .

Time skips

The meeting room buzzed with hushed conversations as the last of the board members gathered their papers, preparing to leave. Yn sat near the back, her gaze trained on the stack of documents in front of her. She wasn't involved in the discussions, but her task was clear: she needed to sort through the papers and ensure everything was in order. As the members filtered out one by one, she focused on her work, not expecting anything out of the ordinary .

Jungkook stood up from his seat as well, his eyes lingering on her as the others exited the room. His footsteps were silent, deliberate, as he moved toward the door. Yn heard the soft click of the door shutting and immediately tensed. She looked up, heart racing, when she saw Jungkook turning the lock with a deliberate motion.

She shot up from her seat in a sudden panic, her breath catching in her throat. Her eyes darted to the door, then back to Jungkook, who now stood in the center of the room, a dark smirk spreading across his lips.

Jungkook," she whispered under her breath, though it was more of a nervous breath than an actual name. She glanced around, realizing the room was now empty-except for them. Fear flashed in her eyes.

With a slow, deliberate step toward her, Jungkook's lips curled into a smirk, his eyes gleaming with an intensity she had never seen before. He was no longer the businessman in a suit, the cold leader of the Mafia he once tried to hide from her. He was now the man who had been obsessing over her, and she could see it in every movement, every shadow that passed over his face.

Yn stood up quickly, her heart hammering against her chest. She took a step back, her body trembling despite her efforts to stay composed. "Why did you lock the door, Mr. Jeon?" Her voice was shaky, but she couldn't hide the fear creeping into her tone. She regretted calling him "Mr. Jeon," but the name escaped her lips instinctively, even though she knew it wasn't what he wanted to hear.

Jungkook chuckled softly, the sound low and almost predatory. "Not Mr. Jeon, baby," he purred, stepping closer. "Call me Kookie. You know that's what you like." His voice was smooth, almost coaxing, yet laced with an underlying menace.

I've been waiting for this moment, baby, for us to finally be alone." His lips barely brushed against her ear as he leaned in, his breath hot and whispering in the air. "You can't hide from me anymore. I've been watching you, every little move you make. And now... now I finally get to have you, all to myself."

Yn's breath hitched as she instinctively backed away, but the cold, unyielding wall pressed against her back, trapping her in place. "Please, Jungkook," she whispered, her voice trembling. "I just want to leave. I don't want to be here with you."

His eyes darkened, and his smile twisted into something far more sinister. He stepped forward, closing the distance between them. "No, baby You're not leaving. Not until I say so. You're mine. Don't you understand that?" His hands reached out, fingers brushing against her arm, sending a chill down her spine. "You've always been mine."

She jerked away, her heart racing as her instincts screamed at her to run. But he was too quick, his hand shooting out to grip her waist firmly. "You can't escape me," he murmured, his voice low and dangerous. "I'm more obsessed with you than you could ever imagine. Every moment without you is pure hell. You think I don't know what you're trying to do? Trying to run from me?"

Yn's eyes filled with panic. "I don't want this... Please, let me go."

Jungkook's smirk deepened, and he leaned in so close that she could feel the heat of his body pressing against hers. "You can't hide, baby. You belong to me now. And there's no going back." His lips were inches from her neck, the promise of something dark and twisted in his words.

"I've finally got you alone. And I'm not letting you go."

Yn could only hold her breath, the weight of his presence suffocating as she stood frozen trapped in his unrelenting arms

Suddenly Jungkook swings Yn and now both are facing each other. Jungkook's hand is still holding Yn's waist tightly while trying best to get away from his grip. Her hands are resting on Jungkook's chest but they are trying their best to push him .

Leave me please Leave me , "You should know by now, baby ... you belong to me. No matter how far you try to run, I'll always be there, waiting." He leaned in, his voice dropping to a whisper. "Now, tell me, baby... do you still want to play this little game of resistance?"

Yn's breathing hitched, her voice barely a whisper. "I... I'm not playing any games, Jungkook."

"Oh, but I am," he replied, his gaze intense. "And in my game, I don't lose."

And in that moment, Yn realized how trapped she truly was ....
