It's a week since the last update: Q&A! So I present to you the next chapter!

Personally I like typing this chapter and perhaps this is an improvement from my previous chapters.

This one is quite melancholic and a bit warm. And also with a tint of bitterness and mystery.

Third person's POV

"Did you see that?" Leorio,

"I can't, it happened so fast." Tonpa,

"You Gon?" Kurapika,

"Only blurs." Gon,

"What exactly did she do?" And Killua couldn't comprehend what she had done.

She stayed on the same spot since she fell through the trap. What made a difference is the body ahead.

In front of her is a headless corpse which just a few seconds ago still living.

But more than her victory, they are more concerned on how they didn't see her fight.

If you could even call it a fight—no actually—it's a one-sided cold-blooded assassination.

It all happens in an instant. When the man proposed a death match after stepping in the arena Leorio recognized him as a notorious mass murderer.

The proposal of a death match was accepted by Morté without hesitation, in a monotone voice even.

However when the word signalling the start of the match was heard it was over in a second.

Without a blink of the eye she had won, killed the man before her mercilessly.

Everyone, her friends, the rookie crusher, the examiner, the prisoner couldn't make sense of when or how she beheaded her opponent.

They also doubted the fearsome bloodlust they felt was only their imagination or not.

That dark feeling was spilled only in a moment before barely leaving any trace.

They didn't know what to say, what to do, but to just stare at the girl with untold secrets standing at the heart of the arena.

Silence, shock and confusion enveloped the surrounding. They were lost in thought.

Some trying to figure her out. Some still processing the scene laid in front. Some fearing her.

They didn't realize seconds ticked by and became minutes. Their eyes are glued at the victor eyeing the body of the loser with a cold glint in her eyes.

Until her next three words brought them back to reality.

"It already broke?" Somehow it didn't sound like a statement but instead a question—as if she's genuinely surprised.

Kurapika being the observant person amongst the group realized she used 'it' not 'he', but chose to ignore it before he overanalyzed it.

"...You may proceed..." The examiner himself was flabbergasted. Though when he thought he couldn't be surprised more from her previous performance he did.

"I choose to follow my friends is that okay?"

"Of course," the answer he's given is spoken urgently as if not daring to make her wait.

'Kira, go with them.'

The gang went inside the room. However they didn't realize that the last victor didn't follow.

Lippo wondered why she stood still. Apparently it was answered the next second.

"Criminals should die, don't you think?"

Jaws dropped long forgotten and eyes widened it looks bulging out of it's socket.

"Though I bear you no personal grudges. But I'm afraid I'm hired to have your deaths."

Now that shocked everyone. She was paid, bringing possibilities she is an assassin to the people hearing them.

She was never one to reveal herself. She didn't even told her newfound friends yet. Except for Killua.

One of her quotes is that certain situation called for certain measures.

Revealing herself has more pros than cons right now, in a closed room there is only the examiner watching and the prisoners residing.

They wouldn't be able to get out of this tower anyway and the examiner know better than to babble.

"I've taken care of my opponent...what's his name? I forgot. That's one. Johness is here isn't he? The mass murderer using his bare hands?" She smiled behind her mask at the livings present there.

Her client this time is a very vengeful person. The type to believe in illusion like 'justice'.

Revenge disguised as justice, she scoffed. She never believed in anything as superficial as justice.

A weapon is a weapon. Killing is killing. Whatever pretty words you use, this is it's true colour.

That's why she only says she's not afraid to Killua and that eventually people die.

Killing is never okay.

And she continued the despicable act all the while bearing the guilt on her shoulders. She never let Kira kills, it's just out of selfishness that she wants Kira to be innocent unlike her.

Her client's own foolish ideals or today's harsh realities. Whatever they try to protect, it's more of delaying the inevitable truth.

Because the dead will never come back no matter what they do.

Information showed that her client's family had been victims in murders.

The criminals are already behind bars, however, that didn't stop the burning hatred apparently.

Just like Kurapika... she concluded. Wonder what's his reaction will be if I reveal what I thought to him.

It was just luck that the third phase is set in trick tower.

If not she would have to break through the securities and that would have been a waste of time.

"He was. However he lost in a death match against one of your friends."

She asked that question to no one in particular actually. So it amused her someone bothered answering, as polite as a servant.

As for the one saving her time on killing Johness she had an inkling intuition it was Killua.

"That's two. Third is..."

Giving numbers implied she only need to kill some of them not all. They desperately hoped they're not her target.

The perpetrators of various crimes filled the need to hold their breath.

They practically stopped breathing to the point of almost choking on air at the next sudden intake of air.

Slowly she removed her mask and placed her gaze on the stunned criminals.

".....Sorry...."

She lunged forward to their direction. Eyes pinning them to the ground daring them to move.

She didn't smile. Usually she did, to bring peace to her victims.

"NO! PLEASE I WANT TO LI--"

She didn't take advantage of her soothing presence. This time and the last—before this—she couldn'tbring herself to.

Her mind kept pondering over the reaction she might receive by her friends now that they'd seen her kill.

She couldn't bring herself to smile just by the thought.

Her friends didn't seem awkward with Killua, maybe she has a chance as well.

She swiftly slipped through them and stopped at the dead-end.

Patches of blood hit the enclosed walls where the once living prisoner resided.

A splat marred her flawless face. With the back of her hand she wiped the blood off her cheek.

She jumped over the ledge towards the open arena.

Her back turned from the assassination she looked over her shoulder.

"May you find....happiness in your next life."

Putting her gaze straight she heads on towards the room her companions in as she equip her mask.

"Will to live, huh. I guess a first-class assassin can tell that just by confronting someone. Maybe she could tell that. But, she killed them all without blinking."

Inside the room Kurapika had asked Killua's method of killing Johness.

Killua.... What are you doing showing off your skills?

She sighed and she have a feeling she will be doing that a lot more in the future.

Is he really an assassin?

"Oh Morté! You're here!" Gon...

"You're slow!" Leorio...

They're not afraid of me? Aren't they going to avoid me?

Weirdos, she chuckled amusingly.

"What are you chuckling for?" Kurapika...

"Yeah." Killua...

"Milady...?" Kira...

Maybe. Just maybe. I belong with them.

"It's nothing."
