Chapter 2: Jezabel

A/N: When You're Gone by Avril Lavigne has a lot of meaning to Jezabel. She played it at Iza's funeral and now, every time she hears it, she breaks down, but all depending on her mood that day also depends on whether her breakdown is a happy one or sad one (if that makes sense).

I answered my cellphone as soon as it rang. It was Amanda.

"Hey Amanda, where are you?" I was watching Bailey after she collapsed. It was random and out of nowhere.

"I'm coming back to you guys. Get ready to go because Chiron's on his way." I heard the pounding of hooves and knew he was there to meet us. Amanda was racing towards us and I stood up and picked up Bay.

"What's going on?" Chiron questioned of me and Amanda.

I replied, "My friend Bailey. She's one of us." Chiron nodded and took Bailey from me. "Get on." He said quietly. Amanda and I hopped on his back. Now mind you we were in the middle of school property but Chiron didn't care.

We arrived at Camp Half-blood and the memories came streaming back to Amanda and I. My breaths started to come in quivering sobs and I looked at Amanda and she had tears starting to well up in her eyes. Amanda tried comforting me but I just started to cry softly. I tried to avoid having Chiron hear me. I think I managed.

Bailey was in the infirmary within 15 minutes of us arriving at camp. I went straight to my cabin, Hades, and didn't come out until dinner. That night I sat by Bailey and ate my dinner.

"Why Bailey?" I whispered softly. My eyes filled up with tears. Bailey's eyes fluttered and then opened.

"Bay?" I asked, surprised.

"Yeah?" She replied, her voice hoarse. "Are you okay? What happened? How did you..." Bailey stopped me.

"Relax. I can't answer everything at once." I nodded.

"Okay." Bailey sighed softly. "I sort of passed out. When you told me what you did, my mind started racing and I couldn't take it. And I just blanked out suddenly. Next thing I knew, I was on the ground in pain." My eyes were wide as she told me the rest of the story.

I nodded and replied, "Bay, I might not stay much longer."

"But Jezabel. You have to." Bailey said to me her voice cracking slightly.

"No I Don't. I Can't Stay." I started to cry again. "When I first came to Demi Camp, I was 8. It was me, Amanda and my little sister, Izabel. Outside of camp, monsters were, and still are, lurking, waiting to kill us demigods. And Izabel," my breaths were coming in quivering sobs again. "She got killed." Bailey sat up and hugged me.

"I'm sorry Jezabel." Bailey said, trying to comfort me. I could tell she felt bad.

Finally after a dead silence, Bailey spoke up. "If you really want to leave, Jez, then go ahead." I shook my head.

"I can't just leave you. You don't know anything yet." Bay sighed. "Alright then. Now when can I get out of this place?" I just shook my head and giggled.

The next day, Bailey was allowed to leave. I must have fallen asleep because next thing I knew someone was shaking me.

"Jezabel, come on. I can leave." Bailey said happily. I just nodded. "Okay, Bay."

We walked out of the infirmary and met up with Amanda. Nothing else could go wrong, I thought to myself. Well, guess what? I was dead wrong.
