Ferris Pov

We landed soon after on the small secluded island Vilena. All of the men were in kill mode. It was a familiar feeling, where you become nothing more than the relentless killer you are inside. It was when we became the most dangerous.

I glanced around once more at the men who were all as silent as the grave as we stealthily creeped up to where the Palace was. Lee's eyes were as cold and unsentimental as a sharks. I shared a similar look.

We were just on the outskirts of the palace, surveying the large area when Barney spoke up. "Alright, its 3:36, we got 20 minutes to bring this place down - I'll take the cellar" Barney announced. " Hail, Toll I want you two to take the inside section, Yang go around back, Ferris and Lee you two stay out here. We what you can do with those large gas tanks" Barney ordered gesturing to a half a dozen white tankards maybe 70 yards away. I nodded in understanding, as did the rest of the men.

" Alright, let's go" Barney said before swiftly departing. I looked at Lee who looked directly at me. I made a silent gesture for him to go forward around the outside while I went around from the back. He inclined his head in recognition and took off. I did the same with silent steps.

I crept quietly around the tents hearing the loud voices of perhaps three guards heading my way. I stayed behind one of the tents waiting for them to appeared so I could kill them. I took out two rather long throwing knives. Guns would be far to loud.

As I suspected there were three total soldiers, each with the red caps on. I dispatched the first with a simple slice to the neck and a gurgling sound from him soon followed. The second soldier turned in surprise and looked ready to yell but I shoved my knife straight into his throat. He fell to the ground with delayed surprise still etched on his face.

The last soldier went for his gun and was halfway to getting it up when I kicked it out his hand and sent my dagger straight into his eyes issuing a gross squelching sound. A stray splatter of the soldiers blood caught me just under the neck. I wiped it off creating red smears before dragging the dead bodies in a pile behind one of the white tents before leaving. I left small explosives on the crates behind the tents at about maybe 15 yard intervals.

I stuck to the shadows as I closed in on the white gas tanks that were now just 20 yards away. I caught a flash of Lee launching a knife into a soldier's face just maybe 35 yards away to my direct left. I kept up a steady pace, taking down a stray, unsuspecting soldier on the way and got to the gas tanks first. Lee showed up seconds behind me as we unscrewed the gas tanks allowing the noxious fuel to spill out. The gas lazily made its way down the hill leaving a miniature river in its wake, it would create the perfect diversion or help intensify the explosion.

" I guess I beat you" I said with a small smirk glancing at him. " I had to go farther" Lee retorted defensively but I could hear the small bit of humor in his voice. Those were the only words to pass between us as we then moved towards the palace. Once we got inside we continued laying out the explosives. This place was going to blow sky high when we were done.

Rapid gunfire sounded from near an under ground entrance so Lee and I headed that way. Toll and Yin were cornered and only had a few rock fixtures to use as protection as rounds were unleashed upon them. I took cover behind one of the rock mounds and shot down the soldiers with my AR. We were forced to then move farther back as the line of fire seemed to increase. " We are getting killed out here!" Yin yelled, hardly audible over the gun fire.

I took a risky lunge and shot down maybe 3 soldiers that were getting too close. But the small win seemed to have little effect. More of the red capped soldiers pooled in. There must have been 2 dozen of them. They were closing in too fast. I was about to yell at Toll to throw a gernade at them but the shock wave from the gernade might cause the entire tunnel to collapse.

" Sh**!" Toll yelled out as a bullet grazed his arm. The soldiers seemed to come in faster. Now maybe just 15 feet away.

Suddenly a deafening boom sound issued from behin the soldiers. It was followed by similar booms as the soldiers were just mowed down. It seemed the booms were coming from some sort of gun. The bullets ripped through the soldiers, through blood and bone alike.

Most of them were already dead by the time we could see Hail from behind them holding his Omaha Kaboom gun. I let out a little sigh of relief as he grinned broadly.

" Remember this sh** at Christmas!" Hail yelled and looked at us with a triumphant smile. We all stood up and Toll smirked " Dam that thing is loud" Toll told him as we began to make out way through the tunnel. " Oh I didn't think you really hear it, you know with your ear" Hail teased causing Toll to glare at him.

Lee walked up next to me " You good?" Lee asked looking me over and I nodded, quirking a brow. " Don't worry about me Lee, I can handle myself" I replied. I mean I was happy he cared but come on, I wasn't helpless. " Oh I know, just making sure" Lee said, his rustic accent thick. I snorted as we continued down the tunnel.

Barney showed up from one of the tunnel entry's with his face slightly purple and mashed up. " What the hell happened to you?" Lee asked as Barney almost struggled to stand up straight. " I got my a** kicked" Barney replied sourly. " Yeah no kidding" I said as he fell in line with us.

We were almost to the exit of the underground tunnel but the moment we even set a toe across the doorway a rain of gunfire fell upon us. " Christ!" Toll yells out as we were forced to take cover behind the the wall out crop that just gave us two feet of cover. I was practically pressed up against Lee and Yin and rounds were released upon the doorway. Thankfully we had like a foot and a half of concrete in between us from the gunfire. Unfortunately, it did little to suppress the noise which was like listening to fireworks that were just a few feet away,

" Jesus! Blow it!" yelled Hail yelled, hardly audible over the encroaching gunfire. Barney shook his head " She is still in there!" Barney replied with his hand over his ears. He was referring to Sandra, His hand held the detonator.

" Come on!" Toll yelled anguished, his hand also over his ears, including the cauliflower ear. Lee groaned as the gunfire seemed to somehow get louder. I was behind Lee so I could see much behind him but I caught a small glimpse of that Monroe guy escorting Sandra roughly out with his tall bald henchman right behind him. " She's out now punch it" Lee ordered and Barney's thumb pressed down on the red button.

A deep rumble erupted and in seconds the entire palace shudder violently as the glass windows blew out word and flames erupted. The soldiers yelled and we ran out shooting done the red capped soldiers with ease as the ground shook slightly. " Come on!" Barney yelled as we took off trying to catch up with Monroe and Sandra.

Lee went ahead of me as a soldier came me with a knife. I easily dispatched him with a sharp jab to his throat and he went down gurgling on his own blood. I slunk back making my way across the dark courtyard along with the rest on the men. Hail just blew people away with his big gun.

" They are getting away!" Barney yelled indicating to Sandra and Monroe who were getting awfully close to the mini river of gasoline Lee and I had created. The gasoline went up in flames, stopping Monroe and Sandra and allowed us to catch up with them. But Paine, the bald henchmen threw down a large metal plank that would allow them to cross over.

Barney and Toll were the first to get across. Barney went after Sandra while Toll went after Paine. Paine and Toll fought like two male lions against each other. I was about to launch a knife into Paine skull just so we could finish it but Lee stopped me. " It's his kill" Lee told me and I nodded. Toll wouldn't want my help any way.

Instead Lee and I took off around the wall of fire that was dying down somewhat. When we curved around we could see Barney in a clearing with Monroe who had a gun pressed to Sandra's temple. We stealthily came up behind Monroe waiting for the time to attack. My Bowie knife poised to throw in my hand. It came all too soon.

With almost superhuman speed Barney whipped out one of his guns and shot Monroe three times. A split second both Lee and my knives sunk straight through his chest creating an automatic death. We walked up from behind Monroe and Lee kicked him downwards for a good measure. " Call it a tie?" Lee asked pulled out his knife as well as mine and handed it to me.

" Yeah, sure" Barney said with a small smirk as he turned his attention to Sandra who had soot over her face and her clothes were slightly tattered but aside from that she seemed fine. I turned to Lee " Well that was fun" I stated softly looking at the ruins of the Palace. I wasn't being sarcastic neither, that feeling I couldn't explain had come back just it always did when I went on or finished a job. The addicting drug like feeling.

Lee looked at me " Still thinking about leaving?" He asked as we started to go towards the plane. I sighed hefting my AR up so it rested easily on my shoulder. " It would make life easier. I might actually die in a peaceful way" I stated. It was all true. But something told me my death wouldn't happen for a while. " Yeah, but what exactly would you do everyday?" Lee asked.

I hadn't really though a whole bunch on that. " I don't know coach mini league and go golfing every Saturday?" I answered taking the first two things that came to mind. Honestly, I didn't like little kids much and I hated golf. Lee scoffed " You? Teach mini league?" Lee asked sarcastically.

"Ok so maybe it's not such a good idea" I said with a half grin. Lee grinned as well. " I'll just have to think about it" I added.

" Well you will always have a spot with the Expendables" Lee ensured putting a hand on my shoulder.
