New Places

"So uh, Jacob," I began as we rode the elevator down.

"What's on your mind, red?" He turned to me.

"Well, we were actually just discussing a plan to get out of here and-"

"Are we sure this place is secure enough to discuss it?" Nicole asked.

I rolled my eyes. "It's an elevator."

Yet I crept closer to Jacob anyway, whispering to him. "Do you think Carter hates you enough to help us?"

He raised an eyebrow. "Sounds counterproductive. Shouldn't he like us and that's why he'd help? I can try and seduce Carter if that's what you need."

Nicole snorted, barely able to hear him.

I shook my head. "No. And please don't. Don't even try. No, we need you to keep annoying the shit out of him, until he'll be willing to do anything to get rid of us."

I didn't even need to add, including betray Baltia, but Jacob caught my drift.

"Ahhh I see where you're going. Hmmm it's a chaotic plan." He smiled his usual charming and mischievous smirk. "I like chaotic."

"But there are some gaps we need to fill in." Nicole commented. "You know, so shit doesn't totally hit the fan."

"So you're on board?"

"For you? Of course."

"He just wants to torment Carter." Callie said.

Jacob ruffled her hair. "You're so smart."

The elevator dinged. Callie beamed up at Jacob.

"We're still scoping out Baltia, right?" Jacob asked. "Like spies?"

The door opened.

"Yeah, exactly like spies. So shut the hell up." Nicole was the first one through the metal doors.

We followed her through.

"So where exactly should we go?" I asked. "We've been to the medical lab, the jail, and the admin office or whatever. So where next?"

Jacob spun in a circle, pointer finger extended. When he stopped his finger fell on a a hexagonal building we hadn't yet visited. Only about two stories, it wasn't huge by any means.

Jacob led us in.

It was packed. At least, it seemed pretty packed to me, as I hadn't seen groups bigger than six in a month. There must have been at least fifty people there.

"This must be where people come to chill when they aren't working." Jacob commented.

It seemed to be some sort of lounge. At least that's how it seemed based on how the chairs were arranged. There sat a few mismatched couches and lounge chairs, with a bar to the left. There stools sat and people could get whatever refreshing beverages available. My guess was that the soldiers had scavenged everything from beer to kool-aid.

"Maybe someone here knows how to leave?" I suggested.

"Oh yeah, Locke. Like if we ask real nice they just let whoever leave?" Nicole scoffed.

"If we do ask we should be smooth about it. Likes spies."

I scoffed. "It's impossible for you to do smooth."

"Locke, you wound me!" Jacob gasped, pacing a hand on his chest, as overdramatic as he could be.

I rolled my eyes, striding towards the bar.

Before I got there a familiar voice called out.

"Erica?"

Aaaaand I'm going to leave that there. Cause 500+ words is enough. And I'm evil.

So who do you think said that?
