Welcome to the Crew

The Captain stood at the rudder;

Full of pride his gaze –

Then he discovered 

A small figure with a bucket,

Leanin' over as if green in the face.

He laughed, "Mate!"

And commanded to steer due north,

Before he walked to the young boy.

"What?!" Pete snapped,

"I know, I'm a bad sailor; 

Yet - "

"Still the son of a tailor, huh?"

"Nonetheless, a man!"

"Ha, ha. I see. You sure are eager, pal –

But willing to do what you're told?" 

"Yes!"

"Even, if your life's not all about gold?"

"Wait! That's new - "

"Anyway, welcome to my crew!"
