||Chapter 44!!||

||Nagisa's P.o.v||

The next day, when her desk first wasn't there, obviously the class questioned this. Koro Sensei looked at the empty spot and although there was a grin on his face, his tone was somber.

"Y/n won't be returning to the E-class..." Koro Sensei told us.

Obviously Koro Sensei saying this set the class into uproar and so he waited for everyone to calm down before he had to explain why she wasn't coming back, "Something has come up that has prevented her from coming back. Something having to do with other students in the class..." The class murmured, and I felt horrible. Koro Sensei looked at me, then towards the back of the class—presumably at Karma. "This should serve as a valuable lesson to you all, to think before you say things and before you act. That your actions have consequences that affect others...She's decided to withdrawal from the school entirely, so please respect her decision and not try to convince her to come back. Now..." Koro Sensei said facing the board, "Let's get on with today's lesson." And that was it. He never brought her up again, and after the third day the other kids in class stopped talking about her. Life went on without her...No one knew where she was or what she was doing or whether she was even happy, and they were fine with that. Fine with not knowing, fine with not carrying the burden of being at least part of the reason why she was gone.

A week past and still there was no Y/n. As I walked into class that morning , I glanced at Y/n's old spot, hoping she'd be there, and like every other day before that, she wasn't. I was left sitting at my desk staring at the clock, hoping that she was just running a little late like she usually did. I'd glance at the door she'd always slam open anytime she entered, hoping that the moment she returned, Koro Sensei would put her desk back. Even if I never got to speak to her again I'd be fine with that as long as I at least got to see her. I wanted see her smile again, God, ever since everything went down with Kayano, I haven't ever seen her smile and I miss that. I miss her laugh, how she overreacted to things, how she was sensitive and cried over things she shouldn't, I miss how nervous she got when we talked or hung out just the two of us. I miss the way her hand nervously fit in mine, I miss her texting me randomly at night, I miss being interrupted any time I tried to kiss her, I miss her. Karma says she'll come back but how she looked at us, how she looked at me, I doubt we'll ever see her again. I wanted to reach out to her, but I didn't want to make things any worse. If she didn't want to come back to school, I couldn't make her, it was her choice and I needed to learn to respect that. I just hate that it feels like she was never here; that she was never in the class to begin with. It was like she had been erased from the class and no one seemed to care.

"Let's think about this in general terms." Takebayashi started off the class, "Are the world's leaders real only thing about killing Koro Sensei. I don't think so"

I pried my eyes away from Y/n's empty spot and tried to focus on class. After all, saving Koro Sensei was my idea...

"Afterall, their original goal is to save Earth. Along with their research on killing him, they must be doing research that doesn't involve killing him, too. Why don't we look into that?" He suggested.

"It's true" Mr. Karasuma backed him up, ""The world's top science facilities have formed on saving the planet. Naturally, that info is all top-secret. It would be tough for you to find out what they're studying."

"I've infiltrated the projected database!" I heard Ritsu say behind me.

I hesitated in looking back, knowing what else was back there, or— for lack there of better words—what was no longer there. Still, I forced myself to look at her, and I tried not to steal glances at Y/n's empty desk space. "I can get into just about anything online PC. I've learned so much this year!" She explained.

"Ritsu..." I began

"Wow! We can see what labs arounds the world are researching and on what schedule!" Maehara exclaimed as the rest of the class gathered around Ritsu.

"But there are no online traces of the data we're looking for." She told us.

Maehara scoffed, "I guess the top secret stuff is only passed around in person."

"Is anyone doing research on how to save Koro Sensei, then?" Sugino asked.

"There! An American research team!" Fuwa pointed out on Ritsu's screen, "'Preventing destructive antimatter chain reactions due to tentacle-cell aging and fission'! 'Final samples to be returned from ISS on 1/25'...?" She read.

"ISS–is that..." Kayano begam

"The international space station?!" Mimura finished her sentence, "That's where they're doing their research?!"

Okuda chimed in, "Oh! It could be! Lot's of research has to be done in zero gravity or in a vacuum. And if there's any chance an experiment could cause a huge explosion...there'd be less damage in outer space!"

"If we could only see that data..." Isogai pointed out.

"Unfortunately, you're just one tiny, distant outpost of assassins. Depending on the circumstances, that data may never come." Mr. Karasuma said.

'Well, there goes that plan...and it sounded really promising too...' I couldn't help but grimace. The class remained in silent defeat, well almost the entire class...

"Mr. Karasuma..." Karma spoke up, "No mater what happens we won't quit this assassination. But we don't want to be lukewarm about it. If there's a way to save him, we will. And if not...we've decided to handle that, too. Right, Nagisa?" He said, looking over at me.

Although I wasn't expecting him to call me out, I backed him up. I nodded, "Right. After all, it's our class's critical goal."

"So I want to know for sure, right now so we can all stick with our assassination till we graduate." He said.

Koro Sensei looked down at Mr. Karsuma, who he was standing right next to.

"Mr. Karasuma, Miss Irina, could you please step out? This chat could potentially cause a liability for you two."

My eyes wided and once both professor Bitch and Mr Karasuma left, Koro Sensei turned back to face our incomplete class.

"Now then...Here's what you're trying to do: sneak peak at the data before it reaches America on it's way back from space." Koro Sensei explained.

"But how..." Isogai asked what we all must have been thinking.

"About that!" Koro Sensei begam

Koro Sensei then pulled a tablet from behind his back. On the tablet was a picture of some type of space craft

"Did you know they're about to send this baby up to the ISS?" Koro Sensei asked us.

"A manned rocket?" Itona clarified.

"Yess– a proof-of-concept craft being developed here in Japan. It's supposed to carry an experimental dummy, but...what if there were real people on it instead?"

The whole class reacted to this in shock, what Koro Sensei was suggesting, it was—

"Ha! Our teacher's crazy in the head all right.." Karma laughed.

"Yes! An out-of-season research project for our assassination classroom: Hijack the space station and steal their experimental data!!" Koro Sensei exclaimed.

And so the E Class' unprecedented research project began...I wondered what Y/n would make of all this...

--------------------------------------------------------

Bye, I can't think of anything to say after the ends of these chapters. Shit is lowkey so boring without Y/n💀💀
