~Previously in Dead Last Chapter 12~

So Y/n oversleeps and is now running late for school. No literally, she ran to school to try to get there asap. Anyhow she's so worried about being late because Nagisa had texted her the previous night that he might get transferred out of Class E bc of his mom. Luckily though, he's still in class which relieves Y/n to the max. Instead of transferring right away, Nagisa and his mom are going to talk to Mr. Karasuma about the whole thing. Too bad he's not here, so instead, Koro Sensei dressed up as him. When it was time, Y/n and some of the class spied in on the whole conversation. Things get a bit heated to say the least, and she left. Lot's of yelling on her part though. Later that night, Nagisa texted her that he was staying in E class. On top of that, he told his mom abt Y/n and so now she wants to meet her. 

||Y/n's P.o.v||

I stared at myself in the mirror intently. I was having a staring contest with myself, so I could pick out any imperfections I saw on my face before I went to school. After finally blinking, I decided to do something different with my hair. Ever since school started, I've had the same boring hairstyle, and I hardly changed it for some reason. Today though, no I needed to look perfect. I decided to switch up my hairstyle, and spent the next 30 minutes watching a Youtube tutorial for the perfect style. I then put on a little mascara and some lip gloss, and I was finally done. Too bad I was now 30 minutes late for school.

"Nee-chan!! Hurry up! I'm gonna be late for school!" My little brother groaned on the other side of my closed door.

I looked at the time, it was already 8:30. I gasped it shock, and snatched my bag off of my desk chair, and rushed out of my room. I snatched my brothers hand and zoomed towards the front door, so that we could leave,

"Wait Nee-chan! I need breakfast first!!" He told me, stopping me in my tracks.

"Are you serious??" I asked.

I reached school at 9:00, I was now an hour late for school. I caught my breath in the hallway before I entered the classroom, I didn't want Nagisa seeing me look anything less than perfect. Once I was done heavily breathing in front of my classroom door, I fixed up my hair and opened up the class door,

"Uh...sorry for being late--" I began

"The main campus sure is getting hyped about this year's festival. Probably figure we're up to something even if we can't win." Class Rep Isogai said to the class.

Everyone looked at me for a second, which made me very uncomfortable, "S-sorry..." I stuttered, quickly making my way over to my desk.

"I hear that Asano actually contracted with a restaurant." Sugino spoke up, continuing the class discussion.

I sighed and dropped my bag onto the floor beside my desk. 'How embarrassing...' I thought, feeling the burn of the heat on my cheeks.

"N/n-chan~ Well don't you look pretty~" Karma purred, "What's the occasion??" He asked me in a teasing tone.

I felt my face heat up,

"S-shut up! Can't a girl just dress pretty and not get judged for it!!" I asked him in a quieted tone. 

I then turned away from Karma, and in doing so, I looked at Nagisa. He was looking at me too, however, once we made eye contact, he quickly turned back around. A million questions formed in my brain. Questions like, Did he not like my hair? Was the subtle makeup actually not subtle at all?? Did I actually look really ugly?? Did Nagisa accidentally mean to text that mom text to someone else?? And why the hell was he looking at me?? I heard Karma snicker beside me, and I quickly turned my attention to him,

"Well...judging by how you're looking at Nagisa, I'm guessing you dressed up for him, and not the school festival..." He joked, laughing a bit.

"Wait, that's today??" I asked.

Karma stopped laughing and looked at me with a look of slight disgust and annoyance,

"You're kidding right??" He asked.

"Uhhhh...no??"

Karma slapped his hand over his face, "God you're an idiot...sometimes I wonder why I even put up with you..." He groaned.

"Hey! Don't say that!! In my defense, I thought that was next week!!" I quickly told him.

For the school festival, our class decided to basically do a nature themed, acorn noodle specialty restaurant. I'm no chef, so I wasn't exactly sure what I was going to be able to do to help, but at least I got to look the part. I got to wear a cute maid headband and a blue apron! Well, the apron would have been cute if I were able to tie it properly. For some reason the strings to tie the damn thing were too short, so I wasn't able to get a firm enough grasp on the strings to tie them. Everyone was already outside the classroom, doing their part and I couldn't even put my damn apron. I tried multiple times to tie it, but it was like the universe hated me and didn't want me to. After a few more tries to tie it, I was on the verge of tears, and still no where closer to actually tying the fucking thing. Right when I was about to cry, Nagisa popped his head into the empty classroom,

"N/n-chan? What are you still doing in here?" Nagisa asked me, "Some of the others are looking for you."

"I'm sorry...It's just...I can't tie my apron...the strings are too short..." I pouted with tears in my eyes.

"Oh!" He exclaimed, coming into the classroom and making his way over to me, "Let me help you!!" He told me.

I felt myself blush,

"O-okay..."

Nagisa stood behind me and inspected my strings, "I see the problem! One of the strings has a knot in it, so it's really short!" He exclaimed. He then began taking out the knot as I stood still and stiff as a board in an awkward silence.

"Ah! I got it!" He told me.

Nagisa began tying my blue apron for me, making sure not to make it too tight,

"Since you came late today, We haven't really had a chance to talk today... You look really pretty..." He said.

I was too flustered to speak, but luckily Nagisa had finished with my apron and changed the subject, "There you go! All done!" He said. I blushed,

"T-Thank you..." I told him.

"No problem..."

Nagisa grabbed my had, "Let's go!" He said, dragging me outside of the class room, "You've kept everyone waiting long enough!"

"N-Nagisa!!" I tried to stop him.

Once we got outside, we were instantly met with a slight...disturbance,

"Hey! It's the high school guys from our trip!" Sugino exclaimed.

I looked towards the steps leading up to our campus and there they all were. On an instinct , I gripped Nagisa's hand tighter,

"A-aren't those the kidnappers?!!" I asked in a slight state of fear.

A flashback from that day I was tied up with Kanzaki, And Kayano put me on edge. That was not a pleasant experience. I let go of Nagisa's hand and hugged his arm tightly as I looked on in discomfort,

"What are you doing here?!" Sugino asked them assertively.

"Oh? Come to abduct another girl, have you?" Karma asked.

"Like hell I am." The leader said, "Wouldn't want your freak of a teacher to show up again."

I shuttered, 'Is that the only thing stopping him??' I asked myself in disgust.

"Then, W-what do you want?? I highly doubt you're just here for a good'ole time!!" I spoke.

"Of course not..." The leader of the high-schoolers said.

He picked up a pair of chopsticks from a cup on a nearby table, then snapped the two halves apart,

"I don't need to get physical to wreck your day. I could...start shoutin' that your food tastes like crap, or put a few choice words online..." He said menacingly.

This was enough to silence me and I hugged onto Nagisa's arm tighter, wanting to hide from the menacing high-schooler.

"Well? Bring it out already." He instructed.

What choice did we have? It was our job to serve him.
