Adrien had no idea what had gotten into his friends? He can't call them that anymore. He had no idea what had gotten into his classmates. Maybe, maybe it was his fault Marinette was dead. It's been a week, no one talks to him, since the news spread that he was the last person she talked to as Marinette. He sat in the back of the classroom, in Nathanaels old seat since Nino wouldn't allow Adrien to sit next to him. He rested his head on the desk and pulled his hood up on his head, his eyes having bags under them. He had scabs on his neck from the wire of her yo-yo still but no one noticed.
He didn't sleep. How could he when he killed Marinette. When he closed his eyes, he saw her bleeding out body with a hole in the chest. Her funeral was tomorrow, then Ladybugs ceremony after that. Chat Noir was being hunted down for her death so he couldn't transform. No one spoke to Adrien and he lost weight. He couldn't eat and hadn't eaten for that week. His father, disowned him when he found out about him causing her death. He still lived in the house but he had to do everything himself, which he didn't mind but he was given extra supervision.
After school Adrien put his hood on and walked home. He shoved his hands into his pockets and walked down the street, his head low. Other Parisians looked at the once, happy and bright model, now glum and depressed as he walked down the street. He got to the gate and walked into his home, finding Gabriel at the top of the stairs glaring at him. "Adrien, your grades have been falling."
"I'm sorry father," Adrien didn't look at him. He didn't look at anyone anymore. Gabriel walked down the stairs and grabbed Adrien by the neck, jolting his head up. "F-Father." Adrien gapped for air.
"It's your fault that girl died, your fault that your grades are horrible and your fault your mother left. Everything is your fault you ungrateful boy." Gabriel spat out and let go of Adriens neck after giving it a squeeze and slapping him across that face, his ring cutting his cheek. He walked into his office and Nathalie peeked through the kitchen doors. She even thinks that Gabriels actions toward his son is getting out of hand.
Adrien held his neck and rubbed it, tears building in his eyes. "All my fault," Adrien mumbled as he got up and ran out of the house. He ran as fast and as far as he could away from that place he used to call home. He stopped at the Seine and looked at the river from the bridge. He stayed there for a while, until it got dark. He looked at the water as it gleamed in to moonlight. "All my fault." Adrien sighed as he sat on the railing. His legs on the other side. He stood on the other side of the bridge, his hands gripping the handlebar as he leaned forward, his arms not giving out. He looked at the water and wondered, how cold was it?
Sabine walked down the bridge, holding grocery bags in her arms since she and Tom needed more ingredients. Usually Marinette would get them, even this late at night, and bring them home safely. She saw a boy with his hood on, leaning on the edge of the bridge and gasped at what he was about to do. She put the bags down and ran to him and touched his hand. He whipped his head around, his hood falling off as he turned and Sabine gasped again. "Adrien, dear get down from there," He just looked at her. Why wasn't she mad at him like everyone else? She helped him over the edge and he just looked at her as she held his hands in hers. "Adrien why would you do something that dangerous?" She cupped his cheek and felt something wet.
She took her hand off and saw a small amount of blood. She looked at his cheek again and gasped. "W-why aren't you mad?"
"Why would I be?" She squinted her eyes, looking at him with the most sincere look.
"I-I'm the last person your daughter talked to before she turned evil. I got her akumatized. I'm the reason she's dead."
"Adrien, it's no ones fault. You just have to go with fate sometimes and if this is what fate has in store, we have to go with it," she looked at him and saw the hand print around his neck. "Who did this to you?"
"M-myself." Adrien didn't want to lose the only family he had left.
"You tried to strangle yourself," she looked at him as he nodded his head. "It's cold out here. Why don't you come and stay with me tonight," Adrien sighed and nodded and helped her carry the bags to the bakery where Tom was finishing up. They walked into the bakery where Tom was sweeping, humming a song he always heard Marinette humming as she sewed in her room. The bell chimed and he looked at his wife, and Adrien. "Tom, Adriens going to stay with us tonight."
Tom nodded and went back to cleaning. Neither parents hated Adrien, or Chat Noir. They went with fate on what happened to their daughter, even if they didn't want it to happen. Chat Noir was only doing his job and Adrien gave his answer, there was no stopping it. When Tom finished he joined the two upstairs and they put the groceries away. Adrien kept looking at the door to Marinettes room as he jolted his foot up and down as he sat on the couch. He wanted to help but they didn't want him too, Sabine didn't know how injured he was. "You can go up there," Adrien looked at Tom. "You can go up into her room just, don't move anything."
"O-okay." Adrien walked up the stairs and opened the trapdoor and looked at all of the things in her pink room.
