Dead Heart
There was a time you had my heart
But now it's slowly dying.
You promised that we'd never part
And I still can't tell when you're lying.
After a day reflecting gold,
Under a moon of solid silver,
You swore an oath that soon grew old
And left me drowning in a river.
You later asked me to forgive you
And like a fool I did.
I should have known you were lying then too
So like an idiot I hid.
Don't play with my emotions;
You learned this long before.
But you carried on with notions
About love being a chore.
You thought that you could break me
And haunt me all my life,
But I guess you never learned to let it be
And you still think you can have me for a wife.
There was a time you broke my heart
And now you're slowly dying.
I let them tear you apart;
Limb from limb, and I'm smiling.
No one messes with the witch
Unless you want to say bye-bye.
I don't fail (there is no glitch)
And now I'll tell you why.
I could kill you with my voice,
Or a life sucking kiss.
I could have you pick a choice,
And give you eternal bliss.
I'm only me
But soon you'll see
That I was made from fire.
Scream all you want,
I'll start my haunt,
And let the flames jump higher.
Then through the pain
We'll see the rain
Of seasons long ago.
Mistakes we made,
Treasures we paid,
Times when we said no.
There was a time you had my heart,
And now that heart is dead.
And off rolls that wooden cart
Where all I want is said.
