13 | Privileged Dickhead

I step into the classroom, not stopping even when I feel a few of the students eyes settle on me.

Manoeuvring between the tables and chairs, I slip into one further back, and against the window, placing my chin in my hand.

Malac isn't here. He wasn't in my last class either, probably taken the day off.

The teacher enters, books almost tumbling from her hand before she address the class.

"Today we'll be watching a film for world history, jot down notes as you will need this information for an assignment. If I see any phone out you will be given a lunchtime detention."

She turns then, fiddling with something on her desk before a protection screen starts sliding down over the whiteboard.

The classroom door opens and everyone heads whips to it, the teacher narrows her eyes. "Mr. Wyatt. That's a detention for tardiness."

The boy quickly finds a seat and turn to the front, ignoring the eyes from the teacher as he mumbles his acknowledgment.

She dims the lights and presses a button before the window shades start sliding down.

Glancing out the window, I watch as the sunny morning slowly disappears behind the boring grey blinds.

The film starts, almost deafening in the silent room before the door open once more and there he is.

Malac stalks in and shuts the door behind him. The teacher pauses the film.

"Malachi Cadmus."

"Janette." He grins, dipping his chin at her and she waves him off.

"Take your seat."

He swaggers through the class, his eyes on me with a devious glint in them before he takes the seat beside me.

The seat beside me was always empty these days. The kids in the school too scared to be kicked out of it so they never sat in it.

And if they did, well then they dealt with Malacs attitude.

Sometimes it was entertaining. Most time it was annoying.

The reach behind the film again, the noise level somewhat quieter.

Malac leans towards me from the side and ignore him, trying to- and failing to focus on the screen.

"Babygirl."

I blink, turning my head slightly but still keeping my eyes on the screen and the teacher who looks over the students with a keen eye.

"Rosie."

I roll my eyes, cupping my hand further around my chin to hide the smile threatening to twist my lips.

His chuckle reaches me anyway and I know my actions are in vain.

A faint scraping noise echoes along the floor and I twist my gaze to Malachi, narrowing my eyes.

He looks ahead, hands folded lazily over his chest, attention absolutely riveted on the film.

I blow out a silent breath and look back to the front of my class.

The noise erupts again and I whip my head to Malac, finding him a whole lot closer and a whole lot more amused.

He raises a brow at me, daring me to say something.

Rolling my eyes at him, I turn back, focusing on the film.

Seconds later I feel Malachi's breath whisper against the shell of my ear, his words overtly amused as he whispers lowly. "You look so sexy when you ignore me, babygirl."

I focus harder on the screen yet if you asked me what was going on I'd be able to tell you nothing.

"Malachi." I hiss, snapping my head towards him. My lips skim his before I move back the tiniest amount. "I'm trying to focus, hush."

His huffed laugh caresses my face when I turn back around but he doesn't say anything, only moves his heat closer to me and ignores the teachers eyes when she looks our way. Privileged dickhead.

She says nothing, turning the volume up and Malachi laughs again before folding his arm over my shoulder, tucking me into his side.

I tense but he does nothing more and I force myself to relax, feeling my heart thumping viciously in my chest.

Malachis arm is still wrapped around my shoulders as the teacher turns the lights back on to signal the end of class. His thumb had been tracing small circles on my upper arm, as if he can't help but trace a pattern into my skin.

He squeezes my shoulder before pushing back when the bells rings, dipping to grab my stuff before straitening. He stalks for the door, not glancing back at me until he reaches the door.

He raises a brow at my face, grinning. "Come on baby."

I huff and stalk after him, taking up the spot beside him as we walk for the cafeteria.

I slip in front of him when we reach the doors, pushing them open before stalking for the food line, stomach faintly growling.

The line moves quickly though I'm not sure if that's just timing, or because I have Malachi looming over my shoulder and forcing people to grab what they want and leave quickly.

I ignore my shadow and grab the Katsu curry for today's lunch, adding a salad onto my plate and a bowl of watermelon, quickly scanning to see what else I'd like before spinning from the line.

The smell of the food wafts its way up my nose, noises erupting from my stomach at the scent and flavour I can practically already feel on my tongue.

I've only take a few steps when my tray is smacked out of my hands, food, cutlery and crockery falling to my feet and the crockery smashing.

Blinking at the mess, I slowly look up at the petite red head in front of me but I don't get the chance to say anything before Malachi is there, glaring down at her like she's about to be dirt fertiliser.

Breathing out and ignoring the wasted food, I wrap my arm around Malachis elbow. "Cmon, it's not worth it."

He doesn't move so much as an inch, an immovable statue in the middle of the cafeteria and I grunt, pulling him harder. "Malachi." I look past his shoulder to where the girl is, still wearing that self satisfied look on her face even if I can see the fear glinting in her eyes. "She's not worth anything."

I turn to grab another tray but one is already there for me, Killian dipping his chin before moving towards his brother and slapping his shoulder with his free hand, effectively snapping him out of whatever stupor he was in.

He sneers at the girl, "you and your little friends better watch what you're doing, otherwise you might find yourself without daddy's money." He looks her up and down, his lips curling, "or maybe we'll just come burn down your house and not waste our breath ruining your families reputation."

I slip my hand into Malachis, squeezing his hand twice before pulling him along, following Killian and my food to our usual table.

I take the fork that Killian hands to me with a grateful look and start eating, ignoring everything around me until I can't ignore the eyes on me anymore.

I look up, finding Killians brows raised and then turn to Malac, finding his eyes on me but not on my face.

On our hands, still clasped together resting on the table.

I flex my fingers and seperate our hands, tucking my hand under the table to try and ignore the tingling erupting from my palm.

I don't hear the conversation going on around me, blocking it out and trying to focus only on the food in front of me but it's hard when all I can feel is the tingling still coming from my palm.

I squeeze my fist, shoving a piece of chicken in my mouth, practically glaring at the table.

I look up, feeling eyes on me and see Killian's amused face.

"What?" I ask, noice filtering back in.

"I asked if you were wanting to come tonight?"

"Where?"

"The fights," Malac adds, "we're going to go watch the mystery girl fight and see what has Kade all twisted up in knots."

I look to the boy in question but he's busy ignoring everything going on around him, instead staring around the cafeteria with a hard gaze.

"She's fighting tonight?"

News to me.

"Someone's hoping so." Malac says, waggling his brows at Kade.

Kade cuts him a glare, "Fuck off, Malachi."

"So what do you say?" Killian interrupts them. "You want to come."

"Can't. I'm working tonight." I shrug, "so I guess I'll be there just not for the same reasons."

"Can't you take a day off?"

I narrow my eyes at Malac, "don't you own the place?"

He cringes and Kade cuts him another glare, before pinning that gaze on me. I raise a challenging brow back.

"Kind of, but Benny runs it." Killian answers for them all, not looking at me as he eats.

The whole table gets silent, like a weighted blanket had been thrown over us.

I look to each of the three boys but none are looking at me. Killian staring out the window, Malac down at his food and Kade back to glaring at our school mates.

"I can't take a day off, I just started. But don't worry I'll be there to watch this chick fight or whatever." I answer the original question and look down myself, finishing up the rest of my food as Kat takes a seat beside me silently, her elbow bumping mine and she nods when I look at her, giving me a small relieved smile.

I nod back, knowing she will be staying in my spare room tonight.
