EXTENDED SUMMARY
______________________

STEPHANIE LIVED by a simple life. Once she had graduated from college she began searching for a job to keep herself a float, and that would help in paying off her student loans. After multiple misadventures she lands a job working at the front desk of the VA where she takes calls, helps schedule appointments, and greeting veterans of all ages from different walks of life. Her life was simple, and she just was fine with that. Until her father passes away from terminal cancer and leaves her in care of her younger brother, Alex*, who has now developed into adolescent phase of shutting her out and getting into trouble. If that all wasn't stressful enough, she has to deal with a constant custody battle with her mother, who left when Alex was only eight, and trying to regain her parental rights- which Stephanie would make sure would not happen.

Trying to gain some semblance of her old life and its simplicity, Stephanie focuses her attention between her job and providing for her brother, and nothing more. But that becomes difficult when a certain veteran by the name of Sam Wilson keeps spending most of her important time flirting with her and trying to get her to go out on a date with him. In the beginning she found it nerve racking, but she soon became amused by his persistences and unwillingness to back down. She didn't want to admit it, but there was a twinkle in his eyes whenever he looked at her that just kept pulling her in, whether it cared about her plans for a simple life or not.

Eventually she gives in and agrees to Sam's dates, believing that it wouldn't change much. But little did Stephanie know, the man who was now beginning to hold her heart had more of a story and would pull her into a world filled with dangerous assassins, secret organizations, and people with extraordinary abilities that could make her head spin.

So much for a simple life.

NOTES
________

· Stephanie enjoys a simple life because all of her childhood was filled with drama, and crazy events that have left an impact on her that she isn't willing to admit. Some of it is the cause for her being so eager to distance herself from her family. But even if she longed for a simple life, she will realize that she holds a craving for something more.

· Alex, in Stephanie's eyes, fits the description of a stereotypical teen (because that's what ever adult seems to believe)- always stuck on his phone, barely has any work ethic, blah, blah, blah. In actuality, Alex distances himself away from Stephanie because he holds somewhat of a grudge against her because ever since she began distancing herself away from the family, he notices how sad their dad has become and, in his grief and sadness, blames her for his death. He was young so he never really understood the drama around his mother, and how she would turn in and out of Stephanie's life, and believes that she does what she always does and just shuts people out, without realizing that their mother is doing the same thing to him.

· Alex is riddled with grief because he misses his dad and wants to spend more time with his absent mother, he just doesn't know how to handle it and resorts to other things to drive his attention. When writing Alex's character, don't make him do drugs or drink alcohol to distract him from his pain. That isn't something in his character that he would do. Instead, rather, have him bottle up his emotions and ignore them and later on have a huge blow out as a resort. While this plot isn't centered around him, giving him some chapters that showcase this because it is important in Stephanie's story, and them healing.

· You can develop Stephanie's and her father's relationship with one another, but keep in mind that it should not be, for example, like how Howard treated Tony in his childhood. Howard was an ass and a trash of a father. Stephanie loves her dad in her own way, and while they weren't as close as she would have liked to be, she does miss him. You can have her have a moment where she finally allows herself to feel her grief ( I would think that doing it after Civil War because she misses Sam, and in a moment realizes how she placed her focus on him and her job, but never fully bothered to heal from her grief. I am not saying that love erases her pain, just that she doesn't realize it until Sam is no longer there.)

· The main reason Stephanie turns down Sam is because she fears it will only add more drama to her plate, and doesn't want that. You can add more background reasons for it if you want.

· This was inspired by the scene where Sam ask Steve to put in a good word for him with the lady at the front desk at the VA ( aka, Stephanie) so include scenes where Steve is awkwardly trying to show how great Sam is and make her go out with him. (It doesn't work, but it adds humor).

· Finally, Stephanie and her brother are Afro-Latinx so they must remain POC! Keep Alex afro-latino, do not change it. While their relationship is rocky they do speak Spanish with one another on occasions, and when Stephanie introduces Sam to Alex, or brings him over, he starts speaking in Spanish at random moments just be a little shit because he knows Sam can't understand(or maybe he can 👀).
