Chapter Ten

"Thank you."

I handed the money to the old man before getting out of the yellow cab. My heels clicked on the airport floor, my suitcase rolled noisily on the ground. I passed through people making my way to the Cafe.

There was Adam sitting on the couch facing the Cafe machine, his legs extended under the small round table. He hid his lips under the scarf around his neck.

Tapping his fingers on his phone. He didn't seem to notice my presence once I reached the table.

Setting the suitcase next to the chair. I opened my phone to check the clock.

8 o clock.

I sat looking at the people running to check their tickets.

Adam averted his gaze up from his phone, he looked at me for a minute before looking back at his light-up phone.

I sighed, waving for the waiter. The waiter immediately made eye contact with me. He rushed to our table with a dazzling smile. His black hair was up in a bun. It kept jumping as he reached my side.

"How can I help?" He said grabbing his notepad and the pencil behind his ear.

"Um, I need black coffee, please," I said as I smiled back. I shifted a bit, as I placed my hand around my neck.

"Oh, sho! My necklace." I got up immediately, searching for my necklace. My hands started trembling, lifting up the cushions.

"Miss, calm down. I am sure we can find it." The waiter said and I turned around only to bump into his chest.

"Um, sorry." I took two steps back, my legs wiggling. The waiter immediately throws his arms around my waist before I fall.

"Enough." Adam tore us apart while holding my hand tightly, his veins showed up on his neck, as his eyes were glaring at the poor waiter.

"I am sorry sir, I will immediately bring black coffee." The waiter ran quickly to the back.

"What's wrong with you?" I removed my hand from his firm grip.

He grabbed me from my waist in one hand, before lowering his gaze to my neck.

"What's this?" He lifted the necklace that was around my neck all this time. I took a deep calming breath.

He sat back in his place irritated, and I sat back in mine, holding up my necklace in my hand.

"Good morning." Mario showed up in front of us, taking a chair from the table on our left, placing it between Me and Adam.

"Ted," Mario called the massive man that was watching us a bit far. I stifled a laugh as I looked at Ted, who was supposed to be our bodyguard. He noticed and glared at me, with his big black eyes.

"Yes."

"Take the beautiful lady's suitcase to the plane, before our pilot comes."

Ted nodded, grabbing my suitcase making his way to a navy blue door in the back.

"So... Where's Dad?" Mario looked at his cousin, who was frowning down at his phone.

A waitress, this time reached our table with my black coffee. I instantly grabbed it, as my hands were freezing. I shivered, at the instant warmth rushing through my palms.

"Espresso please," Mario says to the waitress before moving his gaze back to Adam.

"Adam!" He finally lifts his face from his scarf.

"What?" He exclaimed furiously.

"What crawled up your ass?" Mario whispered sarcastically.

Adam suddenly got up from his seat, looking down at me.

"I need to talk to you for a minute." He said leaving the table, not waiting for me to follow.

"Good luck." Mario winks as I stood up running after Adam. We kept walking at a fast pace. My breath hitched. I was staring at Adam's shoulders casually moving with his long strides.

People looked weirdly at us, I reached Adam's side.

"Wait." After I said that he instantly grabbed my hand in his.

I furrowed my eyebrows down at our intertwined hands. His grip was tight around mine as our knuckles turned white. My mind was alarmed at the violent gestures. I kept calming myself breathing heavily. Our shoulders kept bumping people out of the way.

I closed my eyes reaching slowly for my gun on my waist. I opened them only to notice we were in a bathroom.

His eyes filled with rage looked right through mine. My hand fidgeted on the gun, my eyes started to blur at the intensity in the room.

He knows who I am, doesn't he?

That's what kept running through my mind over and over again. Adam closed the door behind us, staring at it as if he was calming himself down. I felt my throat burning, as my heart thumped hardly threatening to get out of my chest.

In a blink of an eye, my back hit the bathrooms wall.

He crashed his lips on mine, possessively, making my legs shake under me. My hand left the gun in my belt reaching to the back of his neck. I kissed back as eager as him, His arms encircled my waist pushing me closer to his hard chest. My hands started to play with his hair, he moaned softly, entering my mouth with his tongue. Our tongues intertwined. He pushed my back on the wall, making my legs wrap around his hip.

I moaned as his hands grasped my thighs caressing them.

"Adam." I groaned his name as he placed soft kisses down my neck. Our breaths hitching together. Suddenly I felt a vibration under my right thigh.

I looked down, as Adam grabbed his phone from his pocket. His left hand still holding me up.

"Yes?" He responded licking his bottom lip.

"Okay." He cleared his throat, "Will be there in a second."

He hung up, looking down at his cellphone in his hands.

He then cracked a smile before looking up at me. His eyes sparkling with its blue lines.

"We should go, we will continue this later." He said as he stood me on my feet.

I stayed there stunned as he brushed a hand through his brown hair looking in a mirror. He straightened his coat, before bending down grabbing his scarf from the floor laughing and shaking his head.

My cheeks turned bright pink as I watch him wrapping it around his throat.

He looks up at me with an eyebrow upwards.

"Oh shoot." He glanced back in the mirror whipping the trace of my lipstick from his mouth. Then he turned to stare back at me.

"You have some all over your face." He said pointing at my cheeks.

I peered through the mirror noticing my smudged lipstick. Adam waited casually for me as I whipped the traces away from my face. I then grabbed my glossy lipstick from the purse. He watched me silently adding lipstick, admiring my moves.

"You should wear matte from now on." He pointed as I closed my purse.

"Why? I love this one." I say shrugging.

Adam laughed, I nudged him on the shoulder on my way out. A grip grasped my wrist. He swiftly spun me around, bending down next to my ear.

"I love it too." He huskily whispered making my body shiver uncontrollably, he then twisted a strand of my hair around his finger.

Step up your game Sophia!

I clutched his scarf in my fist making him lean until his ear reach my lips.

"Then stop complaining," I slowly whispered back, before pushing him backwards with a bit of force.

I smiled satisfied by his reaction. He was staring at me stunned. I then turned around making my way back to the cafe.
