"Hi, Y/N! Did you write a poem yesterday or did you forget again?"
I look up to see a familiar female with salmon coloured hair and a red bow hanging on the side of her head.
"Heh, don't worry, Sayori. I didn't forget this time", I said, rubbing the back of my neck. Sayori nodded," Alright! Let's just hope that you don't forget for the rest of the time that you're here!" She headed back to her seat, tugging up her backpack and unzipping it. A crumpled up piece of paper appeared in her hands along with her slightly average handwriting peppering the once plain notebook paper. Monika ran into the classroom," Oh my! It must be opposite day! Sorry that I'm late... had to run some quick errands." I looked up towards a tired looking Monika," Oh, no worries. It's normal to be late at least once."
Yuri was occupied at the moment by Natsuki. Natsuki was trying to convince Yuri that manga was literature, flipping rapidly through the heavily pictured pages. Monika swung her backpack onto the ground by the desk she was now sat down at. She looked at me with a really weird and perplexing look. Is she ok? I paid no attention towards this as I began to take out my poem from last night. I wasn't really that confident about it to begin with but I suppose I could use some advice on it to help myself improve. Monika snapped out of her trance and announced that it was now time to share poems. " Alright, everyone! Take out your poems because it's time to share them with the club!" Monika exclaimed, taking out her notebook and neatly tearing the word-filled paper out along the lines. Natsuki was frustrated that Yuri was not agreeing with her and slammed her manga down on one of the shelves surface. "Manga is literature! The only thing different about those boring worded ones is that it has pictures so it's more entertaining!" Natsuki yelled in a furious tone. "Well, the words written on the pages aren't explaining any action. The books I read are creative and it helps the person imagine what certain things are happening. There was actually a scien-" Yuri was then cut off by Natsuki. "Blah blah blah! I don't need that many details, Yuri!" Natsuki clenched her hands in a fist, which were now at her sides. Yuri was slightly offended and continued to argue with Natsuki. Monika sighed," Girls, please stop-" Natsuki and Yuri cut her off," Don't get involved, Monika!" Sayori took a deep breath and got up from her seat, walking over to the two quarreling girls. She pushed them apart," Stop! This fight is completely unnecessary! Either you two make up or don't talk to each other for the rest of the day! GOT IT?" Natsuki and Yuri were perplexed and scared at the same time. The thing is, when Sayori snaps, she snaps. Yuri's hair fell down to cover her right eye as she looked down," S-Sorry..." Natsuki looked to the side, puffing her cheeks out and still looked angry," Sorry... or whatever..." Sayori quickly switched back into her bubbly side," Good!" she said, skipping back to her desk to flatten out her crumpled poem. It was now officially time to share poems since everyone has finally settled down. Yuri showed me her poem first, acting shy and timid about the outcome of it. I was able to understand most of it, but the ending was a little weird and I saw it as... edgy? But, Yuri is Yuri and I can't really judge her on her writing interests, so I thought it was a good touch to the mysterious poem. I smiled at her," This is really good, Yuri. It shows a lot of emotion and intelligence. It flows like an agile bird in a cleared out sky." I handed the poem back to her and she slightly smiled. Her voice was more relaxed than it normally is on regular occasions," Thanks, Y/N... I guess those 45 minutes really did count." I didn't really catch the last part but I decided to shrug it off. Next was Sayori's poem, in which she was really excited to show me despite her rapid jumping. It was actually pretty cute when she acted like this: childish and hyper. When I read her poem, it was off-putting, but then again I can't really judge someone for their writing interests so I brushed it off but not all the way. Half of it seemed to be happy and bright, then slowly fading into depressed and painful. "This poem is... interesting. May I ask, is this writing based on your life or is it just an idea that popped into your head?" I asked her with slight concern lacing in my words. "Uwah? Why do you ask? I didn't see you asking Yuri that when you read her poem and hers are normally really dark!" Sayori said curiously. "That's the thing! Yuri's poems are normally in a darker, more mysterious setting! This one is not what you normally write in general." I explained, worry seeping through my words even more. Sayori thought for a moment, looking towards the floor, and then gathering herself up with a smile while looking back up to look at me. Obviously she wrote this based on what she's been feeling recently, but she responded with," Just an idea." She grabbed her poem from my hands and smiled enthusiastically. Next was Monika, in which I expected a topic about friends, relationships, etcetera. But, when I read it, it was just as off putting as Sayori's poem. It seemed to be about death, but the last half of the poem's progress to understand said topic was unrecognizable. Monika's lips curled up in a smile," So, do you like it?" Why do I have a feeling that these girls are somewhat crazy under their cutesy and kind interiors? They can't be. If they were, they would've shown signs of it earlier, right? I don't know what's going on. All I know is that it's suspicious as can be. "Uh... It's a little unpleasant... but it sounds well thought out." I sounded a little unsure of my words. Monika's smile slightly disappeared," Oh, I see. It's alright! I know you aren't really accustomed to these sort of topics anyways, heh." She wasn't wrong about that. I really wasn't used to most of the topics I read about today. Well, the last poem to look at was Natsuki's. Although, Natsuki was a little cautious than usual. Almost like she was afraid of something, but she wasn't really giving me clues as to why. "Uh, Y/N? Can I talk to you for a minute before I share my poem with you?"
