- TWENTY-FOUR -

Damon poured himself an Irish whiskey; he felt like he deserved it after all. Deetra didn't even get in trouble to ask him about the shooting. James was playing with her hair as she was hiding her face behind his muscular arms.

"Is everything alright, Damon?"

James couldn't hold himself back as he asked loudly. Damon puffed and downed the glass before pouring another one. The bitter taste wasn't bad, maybe because he was used to it. James' eyes were on his silhouette, but he ignored his question. He turned his chin to him with a gentle smile.

"I dislike spies. I can't have Felix behind me all the time. I have to find a solution before he destroys everything I have worked for."

A bodyguard entered the living room, and with slow, steady steps, he stopped beside Damon, bringing his lips to his ear. Damon chuckled, satisfied hearing how clean and green the grass was and how the body was out of sight.

"Don't destroy it yet. Go and find Felix Robinson's address; I don't care how."

"Yes, sir."

And as the bodyguard left the three of them behind, a small grin decorated Damon's mouth. He finished his glass and wiped his lips with the outside of his hand. James raised his eyebrows in confusion when Deetra pulled away from his body.

"Was he working for Felix?"

"Yes."

"What will you do, brother?"

"I'll make sure he doesn't harass us for a while."

A couple days later, around 10 am, Sophia Robinson was preparing herself a cup of espresso when she heard the bell ring. She left the cup on the counter and went to the main door. Sophia wasn't waiting for any visitors, so she used the peephole to see who was outside. She didn't know who to expect, and she was more than confused when she faced no one.

Being married to Felix had so many disadvantages. She had to live in his shadow, under his protection, for the rest of her life. She wouldn't mind that she had a bodyguard all around her most of the time, even when she was hanging with her friends.

This time, the bodyguard was late, and the bell rang, and she was all alone. She took a breath and opened the door a bit, her glare on a brownish package on her doorstep. Sophia tilted her head, opening the door fully and taking the cardboard box in.

"Ew..."

She couldn't hold back her words as the package had a terrible smell. She left it on the coffee table before grabbing a kitchen knife. She hadn't ordered anything lately. There was written "Felix Robinson" on it with a black sharpie and terrible handwriting on the top of the package. She slid the blade across the dark tape, destroying it. She grabbed the outer flaps, opening the box. She didn't manage to hold the inner flaps as a scream took over the house along with sobbing.

Sophia was curled on the corner of the couch, her hands on her face covering her eyes. She almost lost her senses facing the awful sight. The woman moved her fingers along her cheeks and looked inside the box again before shooting loudly again.

Robinson's wife grabbed her iPhone and dialled Felix's number in seconds. This time, she didn't have enough patience hoping her husband will pick up the phone sooner or later.

"What's up, Sophia?"

Felix seemed tired as voices and steps could be heard in the background. Sophia was trembling, trying to move away from the package in tears.

"F-Felix, you must come home IMMEDIATELY!"

"Darling, I am busy. Are you okay?"

"P-Please! There's a package for you and- OH MY GOD!"

"Sophia? SOPHIA!?"

There was blood leaking from the box on the wooden coffee table; it was stained already. The woman had ended the call by accident, and she had rushed to the kitchen. She filled a glass with water and drank it slowly, her eyes still watery. She tried to calm herself as she sat down, leaning her arms on the kitchen table.

Felix was already rushing towards his car, fearing his wife was in danger. He didn't care for the red lights or the number of accidents that he could easily cause. He didn't care about any of these lives in all those other cars that were around him. Felix would burn the world if anything terrible happened to Sophia. His house wasn't close to his workplace, and it would take at least fifteen minutes to get to his wife.

As he pulled to his house, he ran out of his car, not even caring to lock it. He pressed the bell again and again as he couldn't find his keys. Sophia hurried to the door, unlocking it when he made sure it was Felix. Felix walked in and closed it behind before looking her in the eyes with his hands on her shoulders.

"Are you okay!? What happened!? Why did you hang up the call- "

The woman hugged him with all her force, burying her face between his arms sobbing uncontrollably. Felix was still confused but played with her hair, trying to calm her down.

"My love, what's goin' on? Who hurt my darling...."

Sophia didn't speak as she pointed at the box. He glared at it before letting her at the door. She looked away, her hands above her eyes.

And as Felix's leather shoes echoed in the living room, he faced something that he wasn't prepared for. He gulped, facing a cut head. He knew very well who the skull belonged to.

"Poor Harold..."

Felix sighed, self-collected. He stopped in his tracks when he saw a piece of paper in the box. He breathed out, holding it between his thin fingers before closing the box.

"Felix, what's this?"

Sophia asked with a cracking voice. He raised his arms, bringing the paper closer to the light.

"I know I'm late but have this as a wedding present. Don't play with fire, Robinson. With love, Smiley."

Felix read loudly with half-opened eyes before gulping. He never understood how he found his address so easily.

"Smiley!? The drug baron!?"

"I believe so."

"He knows where you live!? Felix, how does he- "

"I don't know; SHUT UP!"

Sophia shut her mouth; she looked down, crossing her arms. Felix sighed and turned his attention to her.

"Go and have some more sleep; I'll take care of this."

"Okay...."

And as Sophia walked upstairs to her bedroom, Felix knew he had fucked up. He cursed again and again when he heard the bedroom's door closing behind. The man crumpled the paper and threw it on the floor before rubbing his face. Sophia was in danger now because of him. He had to think of something; maybe Damon wasn't as stupid as he appeared.

Meanwhile, Mason and Abigail enjoyed their free day at a park, having some cold coffee and tea under the sun. They were talking and laughing, not knowing that Damon was far away, spying on them with a frown on his face. They've been in a relationship for a while, and everything was sliding perfectly.

"Would you like to stay at my place tonight?"

"Of course, we could go to work together tomorrow!"

"That sounds amazing, love!"

Damon growled, mimicking Mason's voice, finding him annoying. Abigail's phone started ringing as she faced the familiar number. She raised her eyebrow, answering it confused.

"Boss?"

"Are you with Mason?"

"Yes."

"Put me on speaker."

Abigail followed her boss' instructions as Mason glared at her nervously. She raised her shoulders, being as edgy as he.

"Harold is dead."

"What... How...."

"Damon confirmed it by sending me a nice present, his head along with a note."

"Oh my... lord... How's Sophia?"

Mason added, glaring at the phone. Abigail had brought her palm over her lips as he brought his arm around her shoulders, bringing her closer to him.

"Well, she received and opened the package while I was at work. She called me in tears. She's better now, or I hope so....."

"Jesus...."

"I need you both at work, right now."

"We'll be there soon, boss."

Abigail hung up the phone before fixing her leather jacket and zipping it. Mason looked away, still in shock.

"I can't believe Harold is dead...."

"Damon would discover him sooner or later...."

"He was too young to have such fate, though...."

She started walking fast, Mason following her, trying to catch up on her. Damon, who was hiding behind some trees and bushes, started being closer to them.

The centre of London was full of people as it was a sunny day. He followed them down to the tube. He could see them clearly through the crowd before a couple of people stepped in front of him, rushing to get to their work. Damon stopped in his tracks and started looking around. "How they... disappeared, that can't happen... WHERE ARE THEY!?" Damon yelled at the top of his lungs received some dirty looks. He curled his hands into punches and rushed outside of the underground with a frown.

The London Underground had various secret exits and doors that got you to long hallways. Through these, Robinson's people could go quickly to their work or slink from their enemies.

"Did you see him?"

"See him? I could smell his cologne from miles away....."

Abigail chuckled, her boots echoing through the hallways. Mason was following her with slower steps.

"Do you think he knows where we live, just like Felix?"

"No. Not yet. at least."

"I hope so...."

Many people in London -and not- worked for Robinson's family; most were males. Felix wasn't really good with women. Yes, his nicely sculpted face, along with his abs and fancy suits, were attractive to millions of women. Who could resist this pair of soft blue eyes along with his cute smile? No one, or almost no one.

The moment Felix was opening his mouth, he would destroy everyone's confidence. He didn't care for any man or woman, but especially for women, and he was showing it. He was polite to his workers, despite their gender, though. His workers and his wife.

His politeness and niceness were more than visible around Abigail. He would do anything to make her feel comfortable and confident. She was always happy, lately. Maybe because of her relationship with Mason. He was so excited that Damon left her life, but now, he welcomed himself back because of him and his big words.

Sophia was madly in love with him; she felt lucky to have him by her side. He was handsome and intelligent and also filthy rich, and that was a huge plus. In reality, she didn't care for his money at all; sometimes, she felt bad when Felix was gifting her expensive clothes and jewellery. She was from a poor family with many siblings and never managed to finish a good university as she had to work.

She was deeply rooted in religion and always believed in miracles. She thought that if she visited the church and was a good person, God would send her a guardian angel to be by her side for the rest of her life. And to her, that day at the coffee shop, Felix was her angel, her one and true love. She left everything behind for him; it wasn't easy. He somehow made her leave Sweden and return to Great Britain with him. She could barely talk English when she left, and now she's here, with a God's angel by her side.

Abigail knocked on the door; Felix's office was hiding behind it. She remained patient, waiting for a response as Mason was fixing his shirt with a sigh.

"Come in."

Mason opened the door walking in stressed with Abigail behind him. She closed it and took a seat across Felix, who had his arms in the office. He adjusted his dark shirt's cuffs with a slight groan.

"Is Sophia okay?"

"Fuck her, she's fine. We have bigger problems."

Mason gulped and nodded, looking down at his hands. He rubbed them together; his mouth felt drier than usual. The boss turned his chin towards Abigail, who was sitting with crossed arms narrow-eyed.

"How the fuck did he return so quickly back!? I thought you had left him all vulnerable and powerless!"

"I-I don't know...."

"I was called five minutes ago to be informed that Damon THRIVES in the black market again! I think his period of despair about losing his lover ended- "

"He raped Abigail."

"MASON!"

Abigail screamed, hitting him on the shoulder with strength. Mason started breathing loudly, close to tears. He mumbled, "sorry," and left the room to have some fresh air. He couldn't deal with such a serious thing right now.

Felix looked at her with a frown before coughing.

"Is it true?"

"Yes-"

"Why are you lying?"

Abigail gulped and looked away; she didn't know what to answer. Felix had got her in the corner already.

"You sounded sad when I reminded you that you had to kill him. Mason may believe such bullshit, but I won't."

"You're right... I lied."

"Why."

She started fiddling with her rings and watch before storming into tears. Felix stood up and walked beside her as she stood up. He hugged her, almost crushing her with all the force. He started playing with her hair, a soft smile on his lips being supportive of her.

"Abigail, you can tell the truth to me... I won't say anything to Mason, I promise. I am here for you any time...."

"I lied...! I said that because I didn't want to hurt Mason's feelings...! I love him, and if I had said that Damon and I- "

"Shush...."

Felix took his hand away and held her shoulders, looking deeply into her eyes.

"I need you to tell the truth to Mason sooner or later."

"I will, I promise."

"Go, now...."

Abigail left Felix's arms and walked to the door before opening it. She looked down and then at her boss.

"Thank you for everything, Felix. I don't know what I would do without you."

"I don't know what I would do alone, without Mason and you, too."

Felix grinned as Abigail left, going to her boyfriend, who was at his office.
