Lazaro was more than happy to see his mansion in the distance. He had almost fallen asleep in the aeroplane on his way home, but a phone call woke him up. His eyes were red with dark circles under them, and the hot weather wasn't making the situation any better. When the car stopped, he rushed outside before the driver managed to open the door for him. He ran inside the moment the bodyguard opened the door; a smile took over his lips when he faced his wife in the living room.

"Isabella!"
Lazaro raised his arms with a wide grin; Isabella smiled with a giggle as her husband stepped closer to her and sat beside her. He wrapped his arm around her neck as she leaned her head against his shoulder.

"Hello, my dear! How was London?"

"Oh, the same... Do I have enough time to shower and get ready for our date?"

"Of course!"

Lazaro kissed her cheek and stood up, undoing his shirt. He looked around before turning to his wife.

"Where's Luca?"

"He's asleep, love...."

He smiled softly and started walking upstairs before stopping as he heard her voice. Isabella's stare was now on him.

"How's Deetra?"

"I told her the truth, and she didn't look... okay. I hope everything will turn out alright."

"Oh, don't worry... Deetra is a strong woman, just like her mother! Everything will be fine!'

Lazaro looked down and mumbled, "I hope so," before going upstairs. He stayed outside of Domenico's bedroom for a second as he had heard him say something under his breath. He sighed and knocked on the door but didn't receive an answer back. Lazaro decided to open the door, soon facing his son lying against the bed with a pair of headphones over his head and his iPhone against his chest.

"Domenico?"

The boy turned to him and groaned softly, moving his body and leaning against the bed. Lazaro sat beside him, wanting to talk to him, but he could still hear the Italian rock song playing on his headphones. He rolled his eyes and grabbed them before taking them off his ears and let the pair rest around his neck.

"What's up, dad?"

"Can we talk?"

"Go ahead, old man."

Domenico put the headphones back only to receive a growl from his father. Lazaro pulled the headphones back and turned off his son's phone. He grabbed it and just left it beside him before focusing on his dad.

"I want you to come with me to work."

"What!? No way! I don't fuck with your illegal...thing!"

"Domenico, watch your language!"

Lazaro raised his voice for a split second but managing to calm himself back down easily. His son looked down and breathed in before starring back in his father in the eyes.

"Dad, I want to go to a university!"

"You will."

"I want to start a music career, and you know it! I don't want to go around pleasing men!"

Lazaro breathed heavily and rubbed his eyes, tired. He was trying hard to make his son follow in his footsteps, but Domenico hated this lifestyle.

"Domenico, it's not just "going around to please men", and you know it. What happened to you? When you turned eighteen, you were so excited to come with me and see how everything works, and now you sit in your room all day!"

Domenico looked away and gulped. He sighed before turning to his father.

"You had sent me to a private school, and I hated how everyone was so proud of their parents when I had to hide the fact that my father is in the mafia! It was terrible! I was the mysterious quiet kid in the class that had good grades and no friends! I hated my life every single day! Why don't you take Luca with you!?"

"Luca's a child, Domenico!"

Domenico lifted his arms in the air, yelling while showing his teeth. He had all his father's attention, and he was enjoying it.

Domenico felt like a black sheep in this family. He had everything he wanted, and his parents were all around him until Luca came. Then his little dream was destroyed. He was tired of hearing his parents talk about his brother all the time and barely gave him any attention.

"Domenico... Listen... Why don't you go to your cousin for a bit?"

"Damon? Isn't he that guy with the black hair that was with Deetra?"

"No, that was James, her boyfriend."

"Anyway, I don't care! I just want to stay in my room... Plus, they already have problems, and all I'll be is an extra one...."

"Were you eavesdropping again?"

Domenico laughed and turned away. He didn't want to admit it.

"Yes, and I hope Deetra is... okay. She doesn't deserve all this; you guys are arseholes."

"Domenico!"

Lazaro wasn't enjoying seeing his son swear for one more time. Domenico just kept his lips shut, not wanting to start a fight with his father.

"They'll be more than excited to see you, Domenico! C'mon! It's been a long time since you've seen your cousins and spend some time with them. I bet that Damon can make you enjoy this... job a bit more!"

Domenico sighed and turned his phone back before plugging his headphones back on. Lazaro left the room when he received a nod from his son. The last thing he heard was his kid blast rock music from his iPhone. Maybe some time with Damon wouldn't be bad.

Domenico didn't want to leave the country nor spend time with a drug baron in London. He loved his room; he had everything he wanted in there. He was spending his days on the computer playing online games and chatting.

The boy sighed and grabbed his laptop, turning it on. He wasn't in the mood to fight with his father, so he just agreed with him as usual. A chat popped up; Domenico smiled, opening the new message.

"Hoplite02: Hey r u free tonight? Was wondering if you wanted to play some LoL w me"

Domenico looked at the door, making sure it was closed. His parents didn't want him to talk online with strangers, mainly because of his family status. Plus, as his mother always said, "It can be everyone behind that online façade and sometimes that "everyone" can be dangerous.".

He didn't care, though. There was this girl that he had met through an online chatroom. He didn't know her real name; the only information he had about her was that she was around his age and always introduced herself with the nickname "Hoplite".

"Dom444: My parents will leave in a bit, so yeah, I could get in a lobby quickly."

Domenico typed quickly before hearing some footsteps outside his door. He stared at it for a few seconds before gulping. A notification popped on his screen, and a noise echoed in his room. His blue eyes were back on the screen as he opened the chatroom.

"Hoplite02: Nice, dude! How r u doing? Is ur father still behind ur arse?"

"Dom444: Unfortunately"

"Hoplite02: U never told me what's ur family business about"

"Dom444: Just a restaurant."

A knock on the door made him turn off the laptop's screen. The door opened, and Domenico turned his head, facing his mother, who was smiling.

"Domenico, we're leaving. Your brother is asleep, so be quiet and help him if he needs anything."

"Yes, yes, got it...."

Isabella nodded and closed the door behind her; he turned on his screen again, facing a new message.

"Hoplite02: sucks to have a father that doesn't support ur dreams. I feel you, bro."

"Dom444: Whatever, are you free now?"

"Hoplite02: ye gimme a sec, my father wants to talk to me, god knows what I have done this time...."

"Dom444: take your time, no worries"

The boy leaned back and put on a song from "The Beatles". He closed his eyes and relaxed for a bit, whistling while waiting for his friend to return.

On the other side of Europe, Sophia was in her house cooking dinner for her husband. Her day was nothing unusual; she just stayed home and tried to fill all this free time. She jumped in excitement when she heard the door open, her husband's cologne covering the atmosphere. Sophia turned around with a smile; that smile disappeared when she faced Felix's face. He looked sad as he left his car's keys on the kitchen table. His wife got by his side, scared something terrible had happened.

"Felix, my darling, are you alright?"

"Let's go have a seat....."

Felix held her hand gently and took her to the living room. He made her sit beside him; Sophia look terrified and confused. Her husband held her hands, rubbing them softly while looking down. He puffed anxiously before looking at her in the eyes.

"Sophia, my dear, I need you to know that I will love you whatever will happen -"

"Felix, what's wrong?"

Felix sighed and puffed again and again. He licked his bottom lip; his eyes were shining under the living's room bright lights. Sophia moved a bit closer to him and held her breath for a second. The silence was killing her.

"So, the results of our tests are out and... you have polycystic ovary syndrome...."

"W-What!? What's this!?"

"Um, so... It's a common hormonal disorder among women... Apparently, the ovaries may develop numerous small collections of fluid and fail to regularly release eggs... There's a treatment, though! With some lifestyle changes and some good medication -"

"...I was the reason we couldn't have a kid...."

Sophia looked down in tears holding her husband's hands with all her strength. She felt devastated; all this time, she was holding Felix back from having a family. "Of course, I would be the problem," she thought as more tears were rolling down her rosy cheeks. Felix was perfect and faultless in front of her eyes. Her body was the mistake between the two.

"Oh, no, no, my love, don't cry! Please!"

He brought his thumbs to the corner of her eyes, wiping away the tears with a soft smile. Sophia glared at him feeling his love and empathy.

"You'll take the pills or whatever it is, and everything will be alright... I still love you even if you think that your ovaries are broken... I didn't propose to you because of your body Sophia... Plus, there's always the adoption option...."

She nodded, feeling his fingers against her skin. He was always so kind to her. There were times that she felt like she didn't deserve such a bright and loving man by her side.

Felix opened his arms, and Sophia was against his chest, crying in less than a second. She felt like her blood was warmer as it was rushing through her veins. Her make up was ruined, but she didn't care. His fingers were through her blonde hair, playing with her tufts and rubbing her scalp. A soft smirk playing off his lips before kissing the top of her head.

"Oh, Felix, what would I do without you...."

"I don't know, honey... I'll be by your side, though, till death do us apart...."

"Do you promise that, Felix?"

Sophia pulled away sobbing; the black mascara had ruined her beautiful characteristics. Oh, how much Felix adored her beauty. He brought his palms to her face cupping it as gently as he could. He didn't want to harm his fragile flower.

"I promise, Sophia. As I said, till death do us apart, we're stuck with each other."

She giggled, hearing his stupid words before checking her face at her iPhone. The woman gasped, seeing how messed up her make-up was.

"I cooked dinner....."

"Oh, that's wonderful..!"

"Give me a second to fix my make-up, and I'll prepare the meal...."

She groaned and went straight to the bathroom as Felix leaned back on the couch. He glared at the ceiling and closed his eyes with a puff.

"Poor Sophia, having to go through hormone therapies just because you were born unlucky...."

He licked his front teeth and tried to hide his stupid miserable smirk.

"The world is an unfair place, isn't it?"
