Meet The Cheetah
At Metropolis High School
Social status is one of the many things that human society has had for many centuries. The names have changed but this hierarchy has always existed. And there is no better example of this representation of this than high school. Every school has a hierarchy and in that hierarchy, there is what is commonly known as a Queen Bee. A female that excels more than any other in some field or another. Her beauty and dominion are usually unquestionable by the rest of the school body, be it students or teachers. In Metropolis High's gym, one can see the Queen Bee of the school.
She stood tall with a flawless hourglass figure and lightly tanned skin. Her long golden hair was tied in a ponytail, and her eyes were deep amber like those of a predator just waiting for its next meal. She wore the school's gymnastics uniform which showed off her amazing legs and hugged the rest of her body like a second skin. She ran towards the springboard and jumped high, executing two flawless turns in the air, before landing with a grace similar to that of a wild cat.
All the girls and the coach gather to congratulate her. Even though she was certain of the result from the start.
Girl#1: "That was amazing Barbi, you are sure to become captain once more,"
Said one of the girls to the now-named Queen Bee.
Barbi: "Yes, that was to be expected,"
Barbi said, her arrogance cemented with a British accent.
Barbi: "After all, I wasn't the one that fell on the finals,"
She tacked on, adding insult to injury.
Girl#2: If you keep vaulting like that, we might win gold this year.
Barbi: Well, it wasn't me who fell on the uneven bars.
Coach: Nice work, Barbi. Maybe your cleanest vault yet.
Barbi: Good. Then, if it's settled, and I'm captain again, let's get one thing clear...
Coach: Hang on. I think there's one more girl. Diana Prince.
Barbi: Ugh, the new girl.
Diana: Lift me, Boreas. Let your wintery breath keep me aloft.
Coach: Prince!
Coach: Maybe we should have co-captains this year.
Diana rose from her kneeling position, taking in a deep breath. With the strength and speed of a goddess, Diana charged forward. She did a cartwheel before landing on the springboard. She jumped high above the onlookers, performing three summersaults before landing with a grace unlike any they had ever seen. All the girls, save Barbi, went over to congratulate Diana on her flawless jump.
Barbi, for her part, was not happy one bit.
Coach: Maybe we should have co-captains this year.
Barbi: What? Positively not!
Coach: Okay. Congratulations, Prince! You're the new team captain.
Barbi could only stare in disbelief as her position was given to someone else. She glared at Diana, recognizing her as a rival she had to snuff out.
Afterward, in a class of AP Calculus, Barbi was looking over her makeup with her pocket mirror. A big part of her time was spent keeping herself groomed and desirable at any time. Just then, the teacher came up to her with a perfectly scored test.
Woman: Nice job, Barbi. Not too often you see a hundred percent in AP Calculus, is what I'd be saying if it weren't for Diana and Nathan over here. A hundred and two percent. Incredible! That's a new school record.
The entire classroom looked at Diana and Nathan as Diana blushed slightly at the attention of getting such high grades. Barbi was angry that not only had she been outshined twice. Her anger made her crush her little makeup compact as she stared at the foreign exchange student.
If there is one thing that the Queen Bee of a school despises more than a contender to her throne, it is a couple slowly rising to the top of the food chain.
After school, Barbi sought to recover from the losses of the day by starting a pool party for all her 'friends'/ subjects.
Barbi: Hello, everyone! A pool party at my house!
Girl: Sorry, Barbi, we're gonna stay and help Diana decorate for the dance.
Diana: Join us. There will be camaraderie and merriment.
Girl: Diana's the best at merriment.
Girl 1: And she's gonna show us her dance moves.
Girl 2: And she's bringing--
Girl 3: Oh, my gosh! Diana's so great!
[indistinct chatter]
As the girls continued to cheer on Diana and how she was the best, Barbi slowly got more and more irked. She couldn't stand the idea that someone was getting more attention than her. The rage within her reached a breaking point as she let out a long, scream as she drove off to her mansion home.
Barbi continued to scream as she stomped through the mansion until she reached her father's study. In front of the door laid a sign that said 'do not enter'.
Barbi: [groans] Nice try, Daddy.
Barbi said before kicking the door open.
Inside the study, there were many ancient relics from all over the world. Most of them were ancient statues of animals from the deepest, darkest parts of the heart of Africa. One quick look at the place and anyone with some sense of self-preservation or knowledge of the occult would've turned back and locked the door.
Barbi walked through the studio without any form of fear or concern for her well-being. She stood face to face with a large shelf filled with strange artifacts. She looked at every artifact, hoping to get one that would be perfect for her revenge.
To those of you that believe this to be extreme, it truly isn't. When threatened, the Queen Bee will reach out to any means to wipe out her competition.
Barbi: "Too quick."
Barbi said while looking at a jagged dagger.
Barbi: "Too humane."
She said, glancing at the statue of an old lady.
Barbi: "Too humorous."
Barbi said looking at a mask of a warthog.
It seemed like nothing would be enough to aid in Barbi's quest against Diana. But just as she was about to abandon all hope, she spotted a statue that would get her what she wanted.
Barbi: Diana Prince, little miss perfect, well, I've got the perfect curse for the perfect girl.
Barbi grabbed the statue.
Barbi: Woe to her in Cheetah's path, for she shall feel the Cheetah's wrath, by claw and fang, and with spite and hate, swift as the wind, she'll seal your fate!
She said expecting something to happen, but nothing seemingly did. Barbi waited for a moment before letting out a disappointed sigh.
Barbi: Useless thing.
Just as Barbi was leaving the studio, the statue's crystal eyes came to life before turning to look at the Queen Bee.

The next day, the weather was stormy and filled with lightning. Students gathered around the school as Nathan, Dick, Tim, and the rest of the heroes made their way inside.
Nathan: This is going to be awesome.
Tim: Yeah-yuh.
Diana: It is with great excitement I anticipate sharing what the decorating committee has done.
Babs: And it is with great excitement I anticipate the dance!
Karen: But I don't know how to dance.
Diana: Fear not, young Karen, for I possess dance moves that are rich with fleek. You're welcome to study them.

As the heroes reached the school, they noticed that several students were looking at the posters that had been set up yesterday. They got closer for further inspection and saw that the posters had all been slashed.
Dick: What happened?
Asked Dick as he picked up the residues of a poster.
Kara: Looks like someone already "tore it up."
[thunder rumbling]
Jessica: That isn't funny, Kara.
Kara: Instead of cutting a rug, they cut the posters.
Jessica: No, I mean, it's seriously not funny.
Kara: Maybe... Maybe the dance shouldn't have booked a band that shreds so hard.
Diana: Hmm.
Jessica: Kara!
Shadow Warriors: [groans]
[thunder rumbling]
As Kara starts tossing more puns and Jessica starts getting more annoyed, Diana starts observing the posters. They were slashed by claw marks. Suspicious...
Diana was in the women's changing room about to open her locker when she heard something rush behind her. She turned, looking for the source of the noise, but found nothing. Some of the lockers behind Diana were struck by something, causing her to turn around. Diana felt like she was being stalked by some sort of predator. She raised her fists, ready to fight against her assailant. This took them by surprise as she officially became creeped out... until she was hit.
The others decided to remove the torn posters to arouse suspicion, making their way toward the door of the girl's locker room, and waiting for Diana.
Kara: Guys, we better hurry before people think they've slashed the ticket prices.

Diana: I don't know. Something knocked into me. It came from nowhere.
Just then Babs jumped between the team and began her explanation.
Babs: [gasps] Don't you see? Someone is suffering from having their status quo upended by Diana's arrival in Metropolis, and their crippling insecurity most likely caused by absentee parenting, and a lack of proper modeling in childhood, has unleashed a horrible ancient curse that has manifested itself in the form of some weird cat beast that's now stalking the perceived enemy which is Diana! Everyone remained quiet as the words of Babs didn't exactly help them understand the situation.
Babs: There's a monster on the loose!
Babs called out, putting her explanation in layman's terms.
Outside of the women's changing room, Nathan, Dick, and Tim heard everything.
Dick: This isn't good.
Nathan: I know.
Then the girls came out of the women's changing room, and the Shadow Warriors are acting normal.
Jessica: Then we have to get you somewhere safe.
Kara: It ain't Diana that needs protecting.
Diana: Whatever it is could be perilous to everyone here. We must find a way to evacuate our fellow students without causing them distress.
Nathan looks at the fire alarm, he breaks the glass with his elbow and pulls down the lever.

Jessica: Really, Kara?
Kara: Don't look at me, I didn't do it.

Nathan and Kara: Split up.
Diana: Yes, that.
Tim: (freaking out) Split up? Split up?! Did you not see the movie? When you split up, the monster hunts you down one at a time, starting with the good-looking comic relief guy. Me!
Nathan slapped Tim across his face to calm him down.
Nathan: Get a grip, Red Robin! The monster's not going to eat anybody.
Dick: He's right. There's nothing to be afraid of.
With everyone in agreement, the heroes split to find the creature that was stalking their teammate. Jessica went to the library, Karen shrunk down and went to check up on the classrooms on the first floor, Zatanna went to the second floor, Barbara went to the third floor, Kara flew to the main office, Nathan went to the cafeteria, Dick went to Sportsfield, Tim went to the auditorium, and Diana went to the gymnasium. All the heroes went on their way, unaware that a pair of emerald green eyes shone from the darkness of the shadows, observing them.
Jessica flew through the library with a lantern construct to illuminate the area. She didn't know what kind of monster she'd have to face off against, but she hoped to capture it without causing any harm to it. Just then, Jess heard a meow behind her. She turned to see the source of the meow but was met with rows of books.
Jessica: Oh, thank goodness. It's only a cat. Come on out, kitty-kitty.
Then the meow turned into a big cat's growl causing Jess to turn right on time for the monster to knock her into the books behind her, snuffing out the Lantern's construct.
Babs was roaming the halls, using a tablet and her night vision goggles. Her tablet seems to be linked to every member of the team as they appeared on her tablet, with Jessica's symbol going out after a red dot.
Babs: That's weird.
She started to panic as it went to another symbol... her symbol. She noticed that no one was there, prompting her to use her Bat-a-rang until the dot got closer and closer until it was in her area. Zee searched the cafeteria, and it was clear to her that the creature was in the room, much to her growing fear. It kept growing as the creature stalked her, first from a vending machine. After avoiding her magic blast, she then proceeded to run about the tables, prompting Zee to keep blasting until she couldn't take it anymore. She was forced to flee.

The growling is getting closer and closer until Tim felt something right behind him. He slowly turns around and sees the beast pounce on him.

Nathan uses his Night Vision to help him see through the dark, then he had gone through the cafeteria twice already, making sure that the monster wasn't in the room. He had just sent a message to Dick and Tim to let them know that the room was clear.
Just as he was about to exit the room the doors burst open and a creature tackled him to the ground.

The creature jumped at Nathan, but he kicked a table forward, blocking the attack. Nathan then punched the table sending the table flying.
Nathan: Catch this! (Leaf Hurricane kicked the table)
The table was smashed into pieces with the monster dropping to its feet. The creature charged back at the hero, flipping chairs and food trays. Nathan was only able to narrowly dodge a sharp set of claws from grazing his arm, courtesy of the monster. The creature then sped out of the room, with Nathan rushing behind it.
Nathan: Hey, get back here! (Ninja Streaked)
Karen: Phantom Ninja?
Karen (who is now sporting a new suit) searched the gym and, at the same time, wondered what happened to Nathan She noticed the creature and shrunk herself down to hide. The creature searched around but couldn't find her.
Karen heaved a sigh of relief as she readied herself, she fired several darts at the creature, only for the latter to feel nothing of the sort, and grabbed her with her teeth.
Karen: [screams]
Diana and Nathan heard Karen's scream. So they headed straight to the gymnasium.
Diana: Get away from her, you...
Once it approached them, the light showed the creature's appearance: the monster was an anthropomorphic cheetah with an hourglass figure, a full body, and a long tail with spots all over its fur.
Her green eyes narrowed at both Diana and Nathan, but primarily at Diana.
Nathan: Cheetah?
The Cheetah spat Bumblebee aside and lunged itself at Diana. All the while, Diana used her armbands to protect herself from the Cheetah's claws.
She even dodged her moves using the overhead rings. With the Cheetah's defenses lowered Nathan grabbed its tail.
Nathan: Gotcha!
Not wanting to be defeated yet, the Cheetah dragged him across the gym Diana followed them. Nathan uses WhirlWind again to boost Cheetah and himself in midair, then he lets go of its tail and Leaf Drop kicked her in the head, sending Cheetah down to the ground.
Cheetah gets up and she is very furious.
With the heroes on one side and the Cheetah on the other side, they charged at each other, jumped on opposite vaulting boards, and prepared themselves to attack. It then ended with Diana nailing perfect landings while Cheetah fell to the floor, finally defeated.
Diana: Well, Cheetah, it appears cats don't always land on their-- [gasp]
Nathan: Uh, it left about two minutes ago.
Diana: I'll find the Cheetah. Wait here.

Barbi: Diana, stay away. The monster...
Diana: The Cheetah is gone, Barbi. You're safe now.
Barbi: Oh, Diana, this is all my fault. I released the Cheetah.
Diana: [gasps] You, why?
Barbi: Because... I was jealous of you.
Diana: You needn't be. One person's success does not preclude another's. Jealousy is a green-eyed monster that will consume you if you do not let it go.
Barbi: You're right, Diana. I'm sorry.
Suddenly, they heard some clattering nearby.
Diana: The Cheetah.
Barbi: Go, Diana. I'm fine. Just go.
The first thing Diana noticed was her teammates covered in bruises and scratches and Kara frozen. Dick is covered in bruises and Tim is frozen in fear.
Diana: [gasps] Supergirl?
Babs: She can't hear you.
Zee: She'll be fine. In about seven hours. What about the monster?
Diana: She's escaped, for now, but surely, we will face her another day. Thank you for assisting us, Shadow Warriors.
Nathan: No problem.
The heroes went their separate ways
Dick: (dragging Tim) Well that's great. The monster's gone, but the Friday Night Dance is over, this stinks.
Then Nathan comes up with a brilliant idea.
Nathan: Maybe not. I've got an idea.
Back at the girls' locker room, Barbi was currently washing her face as she managed to register what Diana told her just minutes before.
Barbi: [grunts] Let go of the green-eyed monster, eh, Diana? And why would I ever want to let go of this? [laughs maniacally]
Her eyes changed green as she gave an evil laugh, hinting that it was not the end for her.
Then suddenly, Barbi heard a voice from outside of the girls' locker room.
Nathan: Hey, Barbi? Are you in there?
Barbi changed her eyes back to normal and quickly went to the door and sees Nathan in his causal clothes.
Barbi: Oh, Nathaniel. What are you doing here?
Nathan: Well, after everyone evacuated from the school, I lost sight of my friends. So I headed back and try to find them. After I found Dick and Tim, also I heard that you told Diana that you released the monster, right?
Barbi: Yes, it's true. Thanks to me I ruined the Friday Night Dance.
Nathan: You know, Barbi, there's one way to start the Friday Night Dance.
