UNMASKED : C.K
YOU FROWNED AS you looked at the computer, trying to figure out where Superman might be. You played with the badge sitting next to you. You heard a small voice behind you, bringing your back to reality. You turned to the the strawberry blonde woman that was standing next to her. You looked up at her. "Hi, how can I help you?" You asked her.
"I-I was wondering if you had a moment. I am Lois Lane, I am reporter." The woman said to you. You looked up to her, shaking your head.
"Of course. How may I help you?" You asked her.
"I was going to ask you about the capture of Superman." Lois Lane told you. Before you could possibly answer, you a group of men taking a man with a red cape inside one of the interrogation sections. You frowned, returning you look at the reporter.
"Sorry, I can't discuss unclosed cases. If you will excuse me.." You told her before following the police officers. You opened the door to the interrogation room, reveling the man you were looking for. "How did you guys bring him here?" You asked two officers who were standing behind the hero.
"He gave himself in." One answered.
"What do you mean? There wasn't any public search of him." You told the two men.
"There was one published last night." The officer replied.
"Could you get me the chief inside here?" You asked him. The officer nodded and walked away. You looked at the hero in front of you. "I will take this from here. This is my case." You told the remaining officer.
You sat on the chair opposite to the hero, watching him carefully. "What are you doing here?" You asked him.
"I gave myself in. I thought it was the right thing to do."
"Heroes normally don't do that." You corrected him.
"I wanted to clear my name, and show that I aren't a threat." He said to you.
"I'm amazed that you are stopped by those things. You have a shown great strength, Mr.Superman." You told him.
"It's Superman." He replied. "And if it makes them feel more secure, I will keep them." Superman said to you.
You rolled your eyes at him. "What are you? How did you gain your powers?" You asked Superman, sitting opposite to him.
"You work for the DEO, don't you?" Superman asked you.
"I don't. I work with MPD, and I want to know why the hell you destroyed a hundred year or building and risk people's life." You told him. Superman smirked at you. "Why are you giving me that face?" You asked him.
"Because I safe life, not destroying them." He replied.
"You are also raising taxes in Metropolis. DO you know how many taxes we have to pay constantly because of you?" You asked him, rolling you eyes at him.
"I pay my taxes." Superman replied to you.
"Look, I just want to know if there are anyone else like you out there. Anybody who can be a threat to Metropolis. I am not saying you are the bad guy-" You started, but was cut off by Superman.
"It seems like it." Superman said to you.
"You are not the villain, I am just trying to understand what you are?"
"Never seen a man who can fly before?" Superman asked.
"But I have seen men wear tights before." You replied quickly. Superman rolled his eyes before chuckling. "What is so funny about it? You are wearing them." You added.
"I prefer the terminology-" He said, but stopped in midsetence.
You stood up from the seat, taking a few steps away from him. Shot were heard from the floor below you. You took out your gun, signaling the cups to form a formation outside. "You got any friends who came to bail you out?" You asked the hero.
"I don't have friends." Superman said to you.
A set of rapid fire came from the entrance of the floor. Superman broke the cuff he had and flew against the attackers. You looked at he fully armed men. "Who are they?" You asked the officers.
"There are not the DEO." An officer said to them.
"Evacuate the top floors, now." You told them, looking at the men entering the room. Superman flew out of the building before returning to deal with the rest of the men. "Now, go! He will need support. Help the wounded out." You told them, as you shot some of the attackers
An attacker threw a round object towards you. You did not recognized it fast enough. In matter of a second Superman had flowed towards you and covered you from the blast. You coughed out the smoke, looking at the hero in amazement.
He took you in his arms and flew you out of the building. He slowly set you down in the back alley. You looked at him in amazement. "Thank you." You murmured, looking at him. He send you a small smirk.
"Not so bad now." He said to you.
"DEO!" You heard a man yell.
You looked up to Superman, putting a few meters away from each other. You threw you gun to the floor. "You should go." You told him in a whisper as your legs shook in shock. You turned around, letting go. Maybe he was not much of a threat.
. . .
You walked quietly through the streets of Metropolis, carrying a bag of take out food from your favorite restaurant. You watched both ways, before crossing the street. You suddenly felt arms pull you back into the side of the streets before a car ran paced the spot you would have been a second ago.
You turned around to see a tall man with glasses. "Thank you." You told him.
"You should look both ways, before you cross." The man said to you.
You looked up to him, remembering a similar face but still not knowing who it belong to. "I looked both ways, but thank you." You told him, frowning slightly. The man realized that you were looking at him as if you had recognized him. He quickly crossed the street, an you followed when you saw his wallet drop. You picked it up and opened, seeing the name of the man: Clark Kent. You crossed the street quickly, but when you came across, you noticed that he was gone. You sighed, looking down at the wallet in amazement.
. . .
You dialed the phone that you had search on the man who had dropped his wallet. "Hello, is Clark Kent in there?" You asked through the phone.
"This is him speaking." You heard a man said behind the other line.
"Yeah, ummm, you dropped your wallet last night."
"Thank you, where can I pick it up?" He asked in.
"In the MPD, office 34. I'm Agent Y/L/N. I have it on my desk if you want to come and pick it up." You told him.
"Thank you." He said.
A few minutes passed, and you looked up to see the same man who had saved your life last night. Clark walked quietly towards you, praying that you would not recognized him. He freaked out the previous after he had saved you, believing you knew hims identity.
You waved at him, passing him his wallet. "Thank you," He said to you.
"No problem. Thank you for last night." You told him. "You dropped it and when I was about to give it back to you where gone. Puff." You quickly added, smiling at the attractive man in front of you. "And thank you, Clark Kent for saving me from being hit by a car." You added. He smiled at you, you were about to smile back but it died down when you put two small pieces together in your mind. You look around you, and pulled Clark towards the back exit.
"Umm, I really have to go but..." He started to say, but you cut him off.
"Thank you." You told him.
"I told you it was-"
"No, for taking a bomb for me and helping me out of my office last week." You told him. Clark looked at you with wide eyes. You quickly took his glasses out, and returned back into his face before he could say anything else.
"How-" He was about to ask you but you cut him out.
"The glasses are not really a good mask." You told him with honestly.
"You can't-" Clark started, but you cut him off.
"I'm to going to. You aren't a threat to society." You told him before slowly walking away trying to remain calm. Little did you know that was not the last day you were going to see him. Clark will always come when he needed a question about a crime, using it as an excuse to see you. Even though through the late nights, the man in a cape will appear knocking on your window, and you will tease him and seem annoyed at first, but both of you knew that you both care for each other.
