INSPIRATION : K.D

NATIONAL CITY WAS THE home of Supergirl, aka Kara Danvers. Although she had a city, and lovely sister and friend; she lacked her love life. Something she somewhat did not thought it was important. Specially when she now had to look after her own city.

However, this changed when she met (Y/N). You had been transferred from Gotham City, to National City's CAT Co. It was unusual for a investigating journalist end up in a gossip magazine, on a city that did not a high crime rate as Gotham. You fixed your jacket as you walked inside. Your nervous heart rate, had been caught by Kara who was sitting on her desk. Her eyes landed on you, and they stayed there for a while.

You tried to polite pass, by a group of people were blocking the way. Kara saw the struggle, and hesitantly, she stood up from her seat. She moved the people, allowing her pass. "Thank you." The newbie said, before walking towards her new boss. After a brief meeting, the woman decided to send her off to a desk near Kara and Winn. As the she sat down, Kara gave her a small smile.

"Hey, you are new. Welcome. I'm Kara." She presented herself to you. You smiled at her, while shaking her hand.

"Nice to meet you too. Lovely skirt." You commented, looking at her dress.

"So, new girl. Where did you worked before?" Kara asked her.

"Umm, Gotham. I worked in the investigating section of the journal." You answered, leaving out the part of you being forced out of Gotham by the Bat himself. You stood out of the rest of the press by being the youngest to write a positive view on the Bat and the rest of his group who called themselves the Batfamily.

"What did you wrote about?" Winn asked the girl, giving you a warm smile.

"Murders, robberies. The Batman. Robin. Batgirl. Batwoman, who is still slightly mystery to me." You answered.

"Well, in this town we got a hero who is Supergirl. You can write about her." Winn told you. You nodded at him.

"Yeah. Although, I want to see if she is more intelligent than Superman. I'm not a big fan of him." You replied, getting a shock look from Winn and Kara.

"You hate Superman." Winn stated, looking at your with a raised eyebrow.

"N-nn-no. I would never say that. He is...just not my favorite hero." You replied. Winn looked at Kara half amused.

"Why?" He asked you.

You looked down at your desk with a small frown. "I just don't think he is has cool as people bet him to be. People might differ from it, which is fine. Just forget what I said." You quickly answered before shutting yourself out.

"What about Supergirl?" Kara asked you.

You looked up to her, fixing your glasses. Unlike her, you needed them to see from far away. "Well, I don't have an opinion on her. I haven't seen her do her job, and she seems like a nice person." You said to her quickly. Then you stopped. "Funny, you look like her." You said, catching Kara off guard.

After your comment of Kara looking like Supergirl, she stayed at distance from you along with Winn who will talk to you from time to time. You sighed, getting ready to leave. It was around 10 at night, and you will be walking home. The change form Gotham to National City was not of your liking, you had started to feel lonely; which wasn't your biggest concern. Inspiration was. Hardly anything fatal happened on National City, making you question why on earth did you moved all the way to here.

You walked silently by yourself, the calm of the city making you uneasy. This was broken, however when somebody pushed you to the nearest alley. A small scream escaped your lips due to the surprise you got. You looked at the man that had a knife at your throat.  You put your hand on the arm that had the knife and used your knee to knelt the man on his private part. You then twisted his arm, moving behind him, and pushed in him to the nearest wall. Then you kicked both of his knees.

You steped away, slightly shaken. You heard a thump behind you, making you turn around. In front of you was no other than Supergirl. You gave her a kind smile. "Hi," You whispered, slightly shocked to see National City's hero in front of you.

Supergirl was about to say something when you suddenly felt pressure on your neck. You rolled your eyes before head bumping the man, and flipping him over you. Kara stood frozen in front of you, shocked to see you fight. "I guess you will take it from here?" You asked her, throwing the man at her feet.

The blonde nodded at you. "Wow, I didn't...I'm shocked." Supergirl replied to you.

"Well, a girl leaving on what could be the deadliest city -  after Bludhaven - has to known how to take care of herself." You told her, waving at her.

"You are quicker than your cousin. Superman. That's what other press are saying. I mean, the cousin part." You stuttered, getting a shy smile from the hero. "I'm (Y/N), I'm just giving you a personal opinion. I met your cousin once, nice guy though. I did an internship in Metropolis. Well, I will be going now. I bet you have a lot of things to do." You told her, giving her a small bow.

"I, I don't think you should be walking by yourself back home. If I were you I will call a taxi, or a friend." Supergirl told you.

You stopped, looking at her over her shoulder. "Don't worry, I can handle it myself. Plus, I don't really have many friends here. I don't even think I have one, well if you count my labrodor who is currently waiting for me at home." You told her.

Kara sighed, feeling slightly guilty that she has not spoken to you. "Do you know who I am?" Supergirl asked you.

You let out a small laugh. "Supergirl, duh. Everyone knows it." You informed her. Kara sighed, nodding along.

"I can...fly you home. Have you ever fly before?" Supergirl asked you.

"What about him?" You asked her, pointing at the man on the floor. Supergirl, used her mouth to freeze the man to the nearest wall, making you laugh. Supergirl looked at you confused, but laughed nonetheless. "Sorry, it just that amuses me. Well, it was nice to meet you Supergirl. Goodnight." You said before returning back to your path. You didn't knew that Kara had been flying by, curious of what you were doing this late at work.

After the brief encounter with Supergirl, you inspiration seemed to be at the top. While investigating a recent robbery in National's City most important bank, you wrote an article about Supergirl; which did not went pass Cat Grant herself.

"So, writing about Supergirl." A voice said behind you, making you jump. You took off your earphones out, looking at Kara with a small smile. You nodded quietly, turning back to your work. "Does that mean you like her?"

You smirked at her. "You will have to go and read the article. When I finish." You told her. "A-and it is positive. Supergirl...you wouldn't believe it if I told you." You said quietly.

Kara sat on a chair, looking at you. "It can't be that bad. Enlighten me." Kara said, curious to see at what she had said about Supergirl; you were writing your view on her after all.

"Well, I mean...sure. Umm-mm. Two days ago, I met Supergirl. Well, my stuttering awkward-self did." You told Kara, earning a small laugh from her. "I'm serious. She was sweet though. Did the whole blow-air-freeze thing. That amuses me a lot." You commented, before shyly looking down.

Kara read the article, a small smile spreading on her lips. "It sounds...amazing. I quite like it." Kara told her.

"Really?" You asked hopeful. Kara nodded at her. "Thank you." She said, going back to her typing.

It was not after a month after the article was published that Kara started to talk to you. Along with constant visit from Supergirl herself. At first it will be an innocent visit of just 'checking up' on you to make sure how you felt after the robbery. Those were brief, encounters that lasted about a minute. But by the third month, Supergirl will stay a little more; keeping you company on some nights while you baked her hot cocoa.

Kara was amaze to see your piles of information taken from Gotham's hero. "You really like them. Batman and his gang." Supergirl asked you one night, while patting your dog.

"He just amazes me. He doesn't have power, just bare fist. Nice guy." You said to her, looking at a photo your had next your sofa. You handled her the photo. "He agreed to take a picture with me. He smiles from time to time, you know. He...he is the one who convinced me to move to National City." You informed her.

"Why?" Kara asked you, curious with your answer.

"Things got out of hand. People started to threaten me. I got attacked once in the journal actually. Ten people dead, twelve in critical condition." You said, sitting down in the sofa.

"It wasn't your fault." Kara told you, kneeling in front of you.

"I wrote the article, showing the truth about...three influential crime lord in Gotham, not including the Joker, Pinguin, and Two Faced." You explained. "Then my home got attacked, and that is when Batman himself drew the line." You added quietly. "But at least, I'm still writing." You whispered.

"Well, I can ignore a few robberies for your stories." Kara said quickly, trying to make you smile; which you did.

"No. I already got inspiration on something else. Well, someone else." You told her, looking down at the floor. Kara smiled at you. "You. It is you. I give people hope, and write about the person I love the most." You said, freezing when the words left your mouth. "I mean....I-I..." You started, trying to think of an answer, but you could not. You took the nearest book, and covered your face with it. Kara smiled at herself, before flying off, making you worry even more.

You groaned in annoyance, throwing your bag on the floor. "Why the sour face?" Kara asked you, dropping a coffee to you.

"I scared off, Supergirl. Or at least that is what I think I did." You told her, resting your face on your folded arms that were on your desk.

"It takes a lot to scare Supergirl." Winn told her from his seat. Then he looked at Kara with a confused look. Kara shrugged at him, not wanting to tell him what you had told Supergirl last night. It took a lot of thinking to Kara, as she still had her sister's words on her mind from the pasts months. It is like she is love with you, Kara - Alex had joked about it, and still stated her idea with every chance she could. "Why? What did you do?" Winn asked you.

You looked at him with tears in your eyes. "I was an idiot. That's why! Me and my big mouth. I scare the only friend - and I'm not going lie - my biggest crush." You told him, resting your head back on desk. Kara's cheek turned a dark shade of pink, while Winn looked between you and Kara with wide eyes.

"Y-yo-you, what?" Kara asked, her voice going slightly higher.

You sighed, looking at her. "You are talking about Superman here, right?" Winn asked you, his voice high pitched as well.

"No. Ew, hell no. Ugh, Superman! Who has a crush on Superman?" You scoffed, making a fake puking sound. Winn shared a brief look with Kara, smirking at her.

"You ar-are taking about Supergirl?" Kara asked you, making your cheeks go red. You quickly picked everything from your desk, including the coffee. "Where are you going?" Kara asked you, as you quickly made your way to the elevators. She followed you.

You sighed, turning around to face her. "I don't need any judgmental looks from Winn, nor you nor any body else after my confession." You told Kara.

"You know, we are your friends too." Kara told you, making you stood again. "And...so you like girls?" She asked you. You nodded at her. "D-did you had a girlfriend prior to moving here?" She asked, shuffling nervously.

You let out a sarcastic laugh. "I did indeed. I don't anymore. I caught her cheating on me. Either way, it didn't matter. She hated what I did, for some god damn reason. Now, I have go and find a backup story." You told her, pressing the bottom for the elevator.

"I don't think she is scare of you. Supergirl. I think she just had go and save somebody." Kara lied. She had left you because her mind was clouded with confusion and she was scare. Scare that what she was feeling towards you might be more than just friendship.

"I hope so. See you later Kara." You said, entering the elevator. Kara nodded, waving at you as the elevator doors closed.

You opened the door to your apartment, dropping your camera on the coffee table. You took off your shoes, looking down at your dog. "Hey, buddy." You said, patting him on the head. You opened the refrigerator, taking out some water bottle.

"You should get a better security system." A voice said from behind you. You turned around, holding your water bottle closer to your chest. "Sorry, I didn't meant to scare you." Supergirl said to you.

You let out a breath you didn't know you were holding. "You are worst than Nightwing and the Bat. God! I didn't know you hated me. What is it with heroes and not knocking." You told her, setting the water bottle down.

"I'm so sorry. I thought you were home, and turns out you weren't. You came later today." Supergirl said, shuffling quickly around the room.

"It's fine." You told her, giving her a nervous smile. "Hey, about the other night and about what I said..." You started, but were cut off by Supergirl.

"I'm not scare. I didn't meant for you to think that I hated you and was running away. Which, I kind of was because honestly...I liked you too and not in a friendly way. I didn't know the reason behind me being drawn to you every night. At first, I just wanted to make sure you were okay because you are by yourself and you were new." She quickly said. You were about to ask her something, but she continued. "And I just really enjoyed your company and when you said 'I love you' I freaked out. I had to organize my thoughts about it. So...I like you too." Supergirl added. She took a deep breath, finishing her rambling. "I talked too quickly, didn't I? I do that when I'm nervous." She said you.

"How do you know I was new, and how the hell did you knew I thought you were scare of me?" You asked her, tying your hair in a pony tail.

She looked down at the floor, before taking a set of glasses from behind her. She then slowly put the on while keeping her eyes on you. Your eyes widen, and a small smile spread on your lips. "Oh, oh, oh my god. Y-you are Supergirl. Kara, you are Supergirl." You stated, pointing at the blonde in front of you. She nodded back. "Oh god, I just spilled everything to you. I'm an idiot. I'm embarrassed, and such an idiot." You said covering your face.

Kara flew closer to you, taking your hands away from your face. "Yeah, but you are my idiot." She told you before pulling you into a kiss. A smile spread on your face, feeling happier than you ever felt in a long time.
