Disappeared Without a Trace
This is Sunheart_101 fault
Georgia walked out of the Statehouse with two beers in his hand, smiling at the sight in front of him. Kentucky leaned into a car, trying desperately to fix something in the engine, pants completely covered in oil and t-shirt covered in sweat. Georgia shook his head and approached his husband, gently nudging him.
"Babe. Got you a drink." Georgia announced as Kentucky popped his head out of the engine.
"Oh thanks honey buns." Kentucky said with a smile, running a dirty oiled covered hand through his hair and taking the bottle. The two leaned against the car, sipping on their beers, looking out at the vast front yard.
"So how much are you getting for this one?" Georgia asked.
"I'm thinking if I can get it into halfway decent shape, I can sell it to some fixer-upper." Kentucky said with a shrug swallowing his beer.
"And how's that look?"
"Terrible. I want to kill this car." Georgia let out a burst of laughter as Kentucky put the beer bottle down and pulled out his pack of cigarettes.
"Well listen, we're still on for Friday?" Georgia asked with a wink, as Kentucky lit up. Kentucky blew out smoke and smiled slyly at his husband, the southern man feeling his heart thud in his chest. No matter how long it's been since they were first married, that smile still made him melt.
"What's on for Friday?" Kentucky teased.
"You bastard." Georgia laughed. The two leaned in to kiss, their lips barely touching when suddenly a scream echoed from the Statehouse making them draw back.
"The fuck was that?" Georgia asked.
"Maybe Florida?" Kentucky suggested smashing his cigarette as Georgia stepped forward.
"Nah, that wasn't chaotic, that was in pain. We need to check it out!" Georgia said. Before he could dash to the house, he heard a yell behind him and turned to see his husband clutching his stomach.
"Kentucky?" Georgia gasped as Kentucky sank to the ground.
"Go....GO I'll catch up!" Kentucky yelled in pain. Georgia ran back to his husband, taking him in his arms.
"Where does it hurt?" Georgia demanded as Kentucky yelled out again.
"God it hurts EVERYWHERE." Kentucky yelled. Georgia was about to grab for his phone to call for help, when his breath stopped.
Part of his husband....was becoming transparent.
"KENTUCKY." Georgia gasped.
"GOD GEORGIA IT HURTS." Kentucky yelled. Georgia panted hard, unsure what to do. More screams came from the Statehouse but all Georgia could focus on was the sight of his husband disappearing in his arms, like someone took an eraser to him and was wiping him out of existence.
"Baby....baby I don't know what to do!" Georgia cried clutching Kentucky harder.
"Georgia....Georgia listen to me...." Kentucky begged, wincing as the pain became greater. He was becoming more transparent as the seconds ticked down. "We....we had a good life together right?"
"Ken no....Ken no please...." Georgia begged.
"We have two....two....beautiful....children....and.....survived from hell to back...." Kentucky grunted. He was almost completely transparent now, Georgia could barely hold him.
"I can't live without you." Georgia cried, tears falling down his face. He took his hand, now transparent, and traced his thumb over the thirteen stars on his ring finger, the stand in for the wedding ring he never could afford.
"I....I love you...." Kentucky whispered, fading in and out.
"I love you too....there's....there's no one else for me." Georgia whispered. He leaned down to kiss Kentucky's lips, letting out a choking sob from the realization he could no longer feel them against his. He drew back and tried to wipe his tears.
"Hey....hey Geo....do you think.....you think I'll....see....Vania?" Kentucky asked with a smile, the same smile Georgia loved, the same smile he fell in love with, so many years ago.
"If you do....you tell him he's....he's got a lot of catching up to do...." Georgia whimpered. Kentucky smiled once more and they attempted to lean in and kiss again, and then Kentucky disappeared.
For a while Georgia didn't move, staring at the hands that held his dying husband in shock. The birds tweeted around him, a slight wind blew, but still he didn't move.
Until he screamed.
"Give him BACK. Give him BACK TO ME!" Georgia screamed, jumping up on his feet and looking up at the sky. His entire body was shaking, and the tears were flowing down his face.
"GIVE MY HUSBAND BACK! Give Tucky, Ken....Blue.....GIVE HIM BACK TO ME!" Georgia screamed. He collapsed on his knees, his entire body giving out, shaking with sobs and face covered in tears. Kentucky; the cocky soldier he threw a plate at, the young state he helped heal after the Revolutionary War, the man he fell in love with, the broken man mourning their first child's death, the father to the twins, and the man he married.....
Was Gone.
