To expand on the Kentucky and Georgia being confused why DC calls them 'sir' if he's overwhelmed what if DC legit calls them sir at first

Because he could never use dad and knows he has to earn it (he never earned it with his dad of course)

So for awhile they were 'sir' when he was feeling affectionate towards them as dads

And when someone corrected him on this DC tilted his head and so innocently asked "I'm allowed? But I haven't earned it"
