It started when he was a kid cuss he figured taking those was better than asking for food and getting hit. A normal father would probably tell his son to stop but all Confederation said was "well at least you'll work more now"

IDC has begged him to stop taking them and he's tried but it's hard. It's easier now because he takes other medicine to hide it.
