I don't think DC would have as much religious trauma as Texas would 

In fact I don't think Confederation gave a shit if his children was religious

But I think DC is freaked out by rapture preaching and end of the world scaremongoring 

Like if he and one of his partners are in the city or somewhere out and there's a street preacher DC will get very uncomfortable
