I slowly got out of the bed and started to walk out of the room when I stepped on a creaky floorboard next to Babs. She shot up awake and looked around after pulling out a... bat-taser?

"So do you guys just like our bats on everything?" I asked her.

"How long was I asleep?"

"I dunno. But it's 1 pm right now." I said. Barbara groaned. "What were you even doing in here anyway?"

"I told you I wasn't going to leave your side for the next two weeks. I... I also wanted to make sure you were Okay is all. As okay as you could be. I also wanted to be there for when you were awake. Remember you promised we could talk?"

"Oh, yeah. Well can that wait until after I check on Cass? I'm pretty sure her arm was holding onto her body by a thread. I want to see how she's doing."

"Are you sure that's a good idea? You know to be walking around and stuff after being told you should rest for-"

"You couldn't even follow through on the one thing you had to do?" Artemis said as she walked into the room. She had on a white tank top and black jeans. "You were supposed to make sure he stayed in bed no matter how annoying he got."

"Annoying?" I repeated.

"After all you're the one who refused to help us search for Bane rather to make sure (Y,N) was alright." Artemis said.

"You really wanted to make sure I was alright rather than look for Bane?" I asked her.

"I- well it wasn't exactly like-" Babs said flustered trying to defend herself.

"By the way there's still no sign of where his base might possibly be." Artemis said. She looked at me. "Now you get back to bed." She looked over at Babs. "And you come help us find this masked deadman and his brainless servants."

"Just give me 5 minutes and I'll be out there."

"You had a whole night."

"He was asleep! I really need to talk to him and after you interrupted me last night we said we were going to talk later and this is later!" Barbara said. Artemis narrowed her eyes before beginning to walk away.

"Fine. Make it quick. Being left with Jason and the female knockoff Batman is insufferable." She said closing the door. Me and Babs looked at each other. I sat down on the bed and kept eye contact with her.

"So... what's this thing you wanted to talk about so bad?" I asked her.

"Well, the thing is..." Barbara began to say. "Well, I didn't really want to do this so soon after- but I didn't wanna have something happen and- like I really wanted to-" She stopped and let out a sigh. "Okay, let me start over..." She said. She walked over and sat on the bed next to me while still looking into my eyes. Then suddenly she kissed me passionately. Her eyes were closed the whole time, possibly because she was afraid of what my reaction was going to be. I was initially shocked before starting to melt due to the fact that she's a really good kisser. I slowly fell down onto the bed as Barbara continued to kiss me. Finally after about a minute she rolled off me and we both laid down on the bed. "...I don't know how long I've liked you. I was jealous of Killer Frost when you guys first got on the Watchtower and I found out you were together but I didn't really realize why until you kept telling me about how much better I am than Kori. You told me you'd pick me over an actual princess any day of the week. I didn't want to confess all this stuff to you right after you and her broke up but after you went to save Tim despite what Kate told you I knew that another reason I like you is whether you want to admit it or not, you'll do whatever you can to protect good people, even if you barely know them. But I'm afraid that's also going to get you killed. So I... wanted to let you know before anything bad happened to you." I looked over at her and saw a tear fall from her eye. She didn't move to wipe it or anything it just fell off her face and onto the sheet.

"That's... Wow." I said. "Look, Barbara I... I don't know how I feel right now. This was kind of a lot to drop on me especially considering I only stopped being manically depressed about Caitlin a few days ago. I get why you told me but it still doesn't make it any easier for me personally..." It was silent for a few seconds. "...It's not a 'no'. It's far from a no. But with everything going on right now it's an 'I don't know'."

"That's... understandable. I hope we can still be friends after this."

"Why would we stop being friends? It's not like you tried to murder me because I said no... unlike some people I knew." I said before realizing what I said. "Sorry! I didn't mean to bring her up, it's just-"

"It's fine. You don't have to apologize. I already told you I know you haven't had enough time to recover from Frost. I'm just happy I was able to tell you how I felt." Barbara said. "I've gotta go now. Try to rest up, though. And if you come to a decision on anything, just let me know." She kissed me on the cheek before getting up and walking out of the room. I laid on my bed and thought about everything that just happened. It wasn't long before one specific thought kept repeating in my mind.

"...Holy shit I just got kissed by my smoking hot arch nemesis." I said out loud to myself.
