Titles Released 6-27-2018 Dear DC Please Stop Regressing Damian Wayne

Hello everyone and welcome back to another chapter in my DC comics discussion page. I'm super excited for this week's issues. Mostly the Teen Titans Special. So yeah let's talk about that then. I realize now that I bought a lot of different comics this week (Which is cool). So let's dive right In then!

Titles Released This Week:
Bane: Conquest #12
Batgirl #24
Batman Beyond #21
Batman: Prelude to the Wedding-Harley Quinn vs. The Joker #1
Detective Comics #983
Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps #47
Mera, Queen of Atlantis #5
Mother Panic: Gotham A.D. #4
Raven, Daughter of Darkness #6
Scooby-Doo Team-Up #39
Teen Titans Special #1
The Flash #49
The Hellblazer #23
The Man of Steel#5
The Silencer #6
The Terrifics #5
Wonder Woman #49

Titles That I Picked Up This Week:

Batgirl #24:
This issue is once again another one shot. I feel like this run on Batgirl has not had any real good long o going story arc since the Summer of lies storyline with Nightwing. The most we'd get is a 2 Issue arc with no real overarching storyline.

Batman Beyond #21:
(I picked this up along with the rest of Batman Beyond Rebirth. I'll read it soon).

Batman: Prelude to the Wedding-Harley Quinn vs. The Joker #1
Harley Quinn vs the Joker in a prelude that leads directly into Batman issue #48. I'll admit I loved the artwork in this issue as well as the way Joker has been portrayed. It's a fine issue and one of the better preludes.

Detective Comics #983:
This is the start of a new run on detective Comics and Black Lightning looks to be joining up with the Batfamily for some new adventures. I liked this issue. It's setting up something interesting and it has me very intrigued by how this run in going to pan out moving forward.

Raven, Daughter of Darkness #6
This issue was just ok. We're halfway through this current comic and I feel like the second half is setting up to be something quite interesting with a new team of characters about to make their debut. That's probably the most intriguing thing about this issue. Anyways, I look forward to what happens next with this comic.

Teen Titans Special #1
I was super excited for this issue. I couldn't wait to read it. This was one of the boldest Teen Titans issues I have ever read. However...... some things happen in this issue that frustrates me beyond belief. Especially when it comes to Damian.....

Why are we regressing him again? Just why? He's spent time evolving to become a better person and now it appears that he's going to start killing people again. I'm sorry but that is bullshit. I am so fucking sick of them pulling this shit with him as a character. It's so freaking frustrating watching this happen time and time again with him. He can be more ruthless but having him go and kill people is crossing the line.

They look pretty dead to me. Although, they could just be seriously injured. Not to mention we didn't actually see Damian do this. But, still it looks like he is killing people again. (Which pisses me off so much). They've spent years developing him and making sure he is no longer going down this darker path. Read what happens in Super Sons. I mean come on! (Heavy Breathing intensifies). Ok so there's my rant. But, how is the rest of this issue? Well the team members don't really interact at all. That's being saved for next month... So now we got to wait even longer now. Ugh.... Anyways, The stuff with Emiko and Wally was really good. With the teenagers questioning their elders methods. Emiko's story is pretty tragic and the same goes for Wally. (The new 52 Wally). Honestly, outside the stuff with Black Mask I liked this issue. It's just that I have a major problem with Damian regressing like this and going back to his darker routes. I'm just so tired of it and I want DC to stop it already.

The Man of Steel #5:
Part 5 of 6 in this ongoing Superman story arc. We still don't have the full details as to who our new baddie is and why he hates Kryptonians so much. Also, we learned more about what's going on with Jon. Although, next week we should have the full answer. As far as this issue goes it was fine I guess. However, some of the dialogue written for the Flash was pretty bad and felt very out of place. Anyways, next week is set to conclude this arc. So hopefully it turns out to be pretty good.

Anyways, that's going to wrap it up for this week's issues. What do you all think of them? Are you excited for the future of DC comics after this week? Or are you once again nervous like me? Let me know in the comments below and we can continue to discuss this further. Once again thank you for reading this and I hope you all have a wonderful day.
