Trunks x Dead! Reader
Trunks p.o.v
I stood at her grave, her favorite flowers in my hand as I stared. I can't believe it, she killed herself. How did I not see the signs? If I had at least paid more attention, I could of saved her. Tears fell as I remembered all the time I have spent with her, she had never mentioned wanting to do this. I grabbed at my hair, "I hate you, I hate you, I HATE YOU!" I screamed, but who was I to kid myself? I couldn't live without her. Our every moment started to replay, all of the things I should of said, maybe she would of stayed. All I could think of was her, the memories wouldn't leave me alone.
"Trunks! Look at what I made!" Y/n shouted, showing me her drawing while I was trying to play my game. "That's cool Y/n," I regretted how I ignored her so much.
Her smile would take my breath away. "Trunks, I'm here!" I sat on the couch as she walked up behind it. I leaned back, she leaned down to kiss me. I kissed her back with a smile. "I love you," I whispered as she walked around and sat beside me. I was too prideful to let her hear those three words slip from my lips. They should of.
I remember when I got my drivers license for the first time. Mom told me no one could know I could fly, Goten also had the same rules. I drove over to her house the first day I got it, honking my horn to see her come out the door in her sweat pants and a T-shirt. She ran up to the window as I rolled it down, her smile was big. "Good job babe! I'm so proud of you!" Of course I had to be cocky about it, I was just too stupid. "Yeah, I know. Shouldn't of expected less." Her smile turned to a frown as she just nodded. I should of told her that's all I really ever wanted from her.
She would smile when my parents brought up marriage. Of course she wanted to be married, I honestly really did too. I couldn't see my life without her. "So Trunks, when are you going to ask Y/n to marry you?" My mother asked, Y/n staring at me with hopeful eyes. "I don't want to be married." I would remark back. How I wish I would of said how I truly felt. I should of told her then.
I remember my last day with her before she did this. She held my hand as we stood outside, she was looking up at the sky. "I wish I could fly in the sky and just forget the world." I smiled, "how about we do that now?" I grabbed onto her waist tight. "Now, you have to hold on." She looked scared, "do you trust me Y/n?" She nodded. She held my chest close as I lifted us off the ground. Her eyes stayed shut as I moved her to lay on me, so she wouldn't be as scared. "You can open your eyes now." When she did, she looked around in amazement. I loved that look on her face. "How did you do it?" I laughed, "I can fly." I tightly wrapped my arms around her as I flipped over, taking her to fly through the air. The wind blew through her hair, she seemed to really enjoy it. Why couldn't I say something then?
Tears continue to fall as I looked at the flowers. The ring I had bought to propose with sat at the stem of the flower. How could she think she was so worthless? She was worth so much to me, I was just to arrogant to show it. I knelt down, gently placing the flowers down. I then placed both hands on her grave and pressed my lips into it. It was all I had left of her. "I'm so sorry, I was so stupid." I tried to hug it, pretend it was her in some way. "I love you Y/n, why did you have to go now?" I felt someone start rubbing my shoulder, I looked up to see my mom. "Honey, it's not your fault." I cried harder, "if I acted different, she wouldn't of done this!" She pulled me into a hug. "Honey, she was an angel. That's all you can remember her by now, she decided she was ready to go home. Just think, when you're ready to go home, she'll be right there waiting for you." I nodded, I was honestly ready. "But now is not the time for you. If you want to at least do something right, live your life. She would want you to, then she would spend rest of eternity with you." I didn't know what I was going to do, but mom was right. She was gonna be right there waiting when I was ready. At least when I'm ready, I'll be good enough for you then.
