I turned to find William walking in my direction.

My heart skipped a beat. He was the guy I had secretly had a crush on for about one year now.

He had these beautiful blue eyes with a sparkle in them. One could stare in them for hours and never get exhausted. He had perfect black hair with them falling across his eyes. They were always a little messed up. He had the physique of a Greek god, his abs were drooled-worthy and he had a very sharp jawline.

Above all that he was smart.

Yeah right , handsome and smart.

JACKPOT.

I was drawn back to reality when I realised I had been staring at him for way too long.

He was now closer. That's when I realised he seemed drunk. Not like a little pre-party drunk but a complete wasted kind of drunk.

As he came nearer, he said
"Bitch! You are the reason that Carolyn is with that bastard I used to call my best friend." I could hear anger and hate in his voice.

Not that I had never talked with him before. It was just that we always were too formal. I was shocked, to say the least.

Williams and Carolyn used to date but after that, she had dumped him to date his best friend Justin.

So where did I come in the whole scene?

" Yeah, right and how the hell on earth am I responsible?"
I screamed his altitude had already made me furious.
He was a little taken aback by my fury.

" Well why don't you ask the hoe?" he said pointing in Carolyn's direction who was now seated on Justin's lap. Hate wrapping every single word. His eyes were full of anger, hate and.......hurt.

"Just shut up!" I couldn't hear him say anything about her.
" Oh looks like somebody is protective for the hoe," He said with a short humourless laugh. His eyes shooting daggers at Carolyn. If looks could kill.

Even in the current scenario, he looked hot.

Woah I need to start to control my hormones.

"Well if you wouldn't have shown up in the first place I wouldn't have become all that attracted to you and then that night it wouldn't have gone all amiss..."He continued he was on the verge of tears. He started blinking furiously to stop tears from spilling out. Alcohol had already gotten the better of him.

Wait did my crush just say he was attracted to me. He used to like me!. Yay! I wanted to do a happy dance but I controlled it.
I tried keeping my composure. I wanted to argue with him about it being none of my fault that he was attracted to me but I know better than arguing with a drunk person.

"Well, what happened that night?" I inquired. I had tried asking the same question to Carolyn but she had always brushed it off.

I pulled him aside so that no-one could hear him.
" That night she decided to stay over and when she tried waking me up I said, "Haley darling come back in my arms." Yeah what an ass I am and now I have no one."

No one

He started sobbing. Tears started to flow down his handsome face. Every word seemed to pain him. I wanted to tell him that he had me but something stopped me.
Like I couldn't say it cause I was betraying Carolyn.

I went closer to him and wiped his tears. I tried comforting him. But he just kept crying. I then held him close and gave him a warm hug.

He whispered in the crook of my neck, "You are so pretty! I want to marry you."

Woah this guy is a moody drunk! One second he is crying and another second he wants to marry me.

I chuckled and jokingly said "of course you want to marry me now. I want to marry you too"
His eyes lighted. He pulled away from the hug and started singing.

"Haleyyy...... Wants...... To...arry........Me" and started running to the middle of the party.

" I... Want...... To .........Marry.....Haley...... We...... Will....... Have.......10.......Children...Yayyyyy!" he continued.

All the people in the room were now listening to his stupid drunk song. All the people looked amused and were having fun, all except Carolyn. She looked darkly at him and then at me. I knew what she was thinking. I simply shook my head hoping she will get it that I and Williams were not a thing.

But she started walking in my direction. By the look of it, she too was drunk. Justin followed her closely.

She walked up to me and said " I treated you like a sister for the last two years and now you do this to me? You are Nothing but an ungrateful bitch." She was on the verge of tears. Her words were full of hate. Her words hurt me the most. She had been my support system when I had broken down. She had never pushed me to tell her about that night she had always given my space. And now.....

" Carolyn listen! William and I are nothing. He is drunk and has been talking about how the things between the two of you ended and nothing else-" she cut me off mid-sentence.

"Haley do you know how hard it is to wake up next to a guy you love and hear him take your bestie's name?" She yelled. Now all the people were looking in our direction.

"L- Lo...... Love?" I stuttered.

" Yes! Love! I fell in love with William but you took him away from me. You bitch!" She started crying. Justin wrapped his hands around her and let her weep on his chest.

Then he looked at me and clenching his jaw said: " Never hurt her again!"

I was shocked, didn't he hear that she is still in love with William.

" Justin! Did you not hear her? She has no feelings for you she is using you. You are a rebound." I blurted even before I could realise what I had said.

" I know. I knew it the day I asked her out." He said looking at me with hurt eyes. Then started to take a still weeping Carolyn away from me.

I was shocked by hearing this. The bad boy of the school had a heart.......

Is that even possible?

From the corner of my eyes, I saw William coming back in my direction. As he reached near me he said " H...Haley?... Could you please drive me home? I am drunk and I don't have a designated driver to take me home."

I was about to tell him to ask someone else when he continued as if reading my mind. " I have already asked a lot of people but most of them are drunk as they had planned to stay here all night. But I want to go home please take me home. Please.......?" he said looking at me with the cutest puppy eyes I have ever seen.
" Okay," I said and led him out of the bar. From the corner of my eyes, I saw Justin looking at us.

As we walked out We were met by the cold winds of the January night. I shivered. As we stood on the pavement I decided to call a cab so I could take him to his place.

As I was going to call a cab my phone started to ring. The caller ID showed the call was from Kevin. I picked up the phone.

"Hey, Haley where are you? We were supposed to meet today for our Friday movie."

Kevin was my ex-boyfriend and a very close friend. While we were dating we had a ritual where we used to watch a movie every Friday at his place. And I would stay at his place. We had continued the ritual even after our mutual breakup. I had forgotten about the movie today.

"Kevin actually I was at a party and completely forgot about the movie night," I replied.

" You and party? Anyways where are you now?"
He inquired.

" I am standing in front of Justin's dad's bar," I said giving him my location.

"Oh so why don't you just come to my place like right now!"
He said excitedly.

" Ummm I actually have company" I replied.

"Ohh..... I didn't know... That you ...ummm...you" he seemed so nervous. Oh no he thought that I was with some guy as in a date or something. That I had moved on. So easily.

" No Kevin it's not like you think! It's just William. He is a little drunk and I need to get him home and then I will come around" I explained to him.

"Well well, how did mister annoying seem to notice you after all? And listen you don't need to help him okay if you don't want to."

"Okay you need to shut up and let me take him home so that I can get to you as soon as possible"

"Somebody seems a little too eager to meet me! Aww, darling, I am waiting please come...please!" He said in his mocking sexy tone.

" I am just gonna kick your ass once I get there. By the way now that it strikes me can I just take your car to drop William. Pleaseeeeee......"

" Yeah! Whatever"

"Thank you"
