2 days later...

Kaneki's P.O.V.

I was sitting in the hospital bed and reading a book Hide gave me. When a nurse came in with a tray.

"Hello Mr. Kaneki, it's time to eat." She said as she put the tray on a little table, that was in front of me.

"Huh?" I was so confused. What was on the tray was a packaged meat, some napkins, a fork, a knife, and a glass of water.

"The TSC as been able to make artificial meat for you ghouls. So, you won't have to kill anyone." She explained. But that brought up more questions form me.

"What's the TSC?"

"It's a organization that was founded recently. They focus on helping ghouls live normal lifes."

"Oh, okay."

"I'll leave you to eat." She said before she walked out of the room, and closed the room behind her. I put my book on the bedside table. I took the brown paper off the meat. It almost looked like normal flesh. I smelled it, it smelled a little weird but it didn't smell like it could poison me. I took my fork and picked at it a little before getting a small bite. It was a little hard to pull off, guess that's why I was given a knife.

I put it in my mouth and it tasted a little weird. But I could almost taste the RC cells. I ate it all and drank my water before wiping  my mouth with the some of the napkins. The nurse came back in to get the tray and left.

A while later, Hide came back. I was reading the book again. I looked up from the book and smiled at him. He smiled back before I put the book back on the bedside table. I hugged him when he got to me. I nuzzled my nose into his neck and he rested his chin on my shoulder. He had his arms around my waist.

"I'm happy to see you again." I said.

"You saw me yesterday and the day before."

"I know. But it still makes me miss you when you leave."

"Okay, I missed you too." He said before I pulled out of the hug. I lean up to kiss him, but he put his fingers against my mouth. I was confused.

"Why won't you let me kiss you?" I asked.

"Because you just ate. I could tell by the way our breath smells. And you have some stuff on the corner of your mouth."

"Shit..." I said before I started to try to wipe away the stuff.

"Wow, Ken Kaneki cursed." He said before I glared at him. "Okay, here I'll help get it off." He said before he linked his thumb and wiped the stuff off.

"Thank you." I said before I put my hand on his cheek and kissed him on his other cheek.

"You're welcome." He said before moving my bangs to kiss me on the forehead.

Time skip~~

Me and Hide have been talking. It's nice to have his company. And he's my boyfriend now too. I still wonder when they're going to let me out of the hospital and I could see everyone else. The same nurse that came I with the tray, came back with some clothes in her arms.

"Hello again. Ready to see your friends?" She said.

"Really? Can I?" I asked.

"Yeah, they're all waiting in the lobby to see you."

"Oh, they already here?" He said.

"Huh? You knew about them coming to see me?" I said.

"Um yeah, I knew they were going to come over, since probably the hospital isn't going to let you out for a little bit. I just didn't know it would be today."

"Well they wanted to see you today. Come on, let's get out of that hospital gown and into these clothes." The nurse said as she put the clothes on the hospital bed."But first we got to get you to stand."

"I'll help." Hide said. He got the blanket off my legs. Revealing the red skin on legs, I was embarrassed about that. Hide put my arm around his neck. The nurse and Hide helped me so I was sitting on the edge of the bed. The nurse put my other arm around her neck.

They carefully helped me slide of the bed, so I was standing. But I started to lean down. So, they both put a hand on my chest and helped me stand up better.

"You're doing good." Hide enraged. The nurse let me go and so did Hide. But they still stayed close. I seemed to be okay standing by myself.

"Now let's see if you can walk." She said before I gulped. Standing is one thing, walking is another. "You just have to walk to the door and back. I just have to see if you can walk okay on your own. If not we can give you a wheelchair and we'll have to retain your legs to walk. Just bringing back that memory in your legs."

"O-okay." I responded.

"I'll stay close to you incase you fall." Hide said. I nodded before taking the first step. Then the other step. I was a little wobbly. Hide was sticking close to me. I did walk to the door and back, I was a little wobbly. But on the way back to the bed, I was a little better. Hide stayed close to me the entire time.

"Mmm. I don't know if you'll need a wheelchair. You're just a little wobbly when it comes to staying steady." She said.

"If I stay close to him and make sure he doesn't fall, could he not need the wheelchair?" Hide asked.

"I guess. Since you've been in a coma and have been laying down or sitting, your legs will get tired faster. When your legs do get tired just sit down and rest."

"Okay." I responded.

"Now I'm going to leave and let you get dressed. Guessing you rather have your friend help you. If you need help just press that little button." She said as she pointed to a small button on the heart monitor. Which wasn't connected to me anymore and was unplugged. Leaving the screen pitch black. "Alright, good luck." She said before leaving and she closed the door behind her.

"So, want me to help you untie the gown?" Hide asked.

"Um, yeah." I said before turning my back to him. He untied all three knots. "Thank you." I said as I turned to face him.

"Welcome. Do you want me to help you with anything else?"

"No, I got it."

"Alright."

"Could you turn around? I don't want to you to watch me get dressed."

"Okay." He said before going the corner of the room, with his back to me.

"No peeking either." I said.

"I know." He said before I slid the hospital gown off me. So, all I had on was dark blue boxers. I got the pair of jeans and every carefully put them on. I got the white undershirt and put it on. Then I put on the grey loose sweater. It showed off the white under shirt on my left shoulder. I sat on the bed and put on the socks and grey slip on shoes.

Then I got off the bed and walked to Hide before wrapping my arms around him. And I nuzzled my nose into the crook of his neck. Hide out his hands on my arms.

"I think you'll be just fine." He said before turning around. I moved my arms around his neck and he had his hands on my waist. 

"I think I will too. Could I have a kiss?"

"Yeah." He said before kissing me on the lips. Our lips fit perfectly together, like puzzle pieces. We pulled away after a couple minutes. And he leaned his forehead against mine. "I love you."

"I love you too." I said as I nuzzled my nose into his neck.

"Come on, I'm pretty sure they're all wanting to see you." He said before taking my hand and leading me out of the hospital room. But I let go of his hand and started to walk on my own. And he turned to face me as we stopped.

"Something wrong?" He asked.

"No, I just don't want them to know right away that we're dating. I-it's not that I don't want to be seen with you! We can tell them a few minutes after we get to talk with them. Just not right away. B-because..." I continued to ramble. Hide sighed before raffling my hair, stopping my rambling.

"I see what you mean. Come on, we can't keep them waiting very long." He said before I nodded. We continued to walk until we got to the lobby. I was a few feet behind Hide because I wasn't very fast right now. And I was getting very nervous and shy. I very nervously walked into the lobby while playing with my fingers.

"Maman!" Pretty much shouted a girl as I was tackled by a blue blob. I landed on my butt. I only guessed it was Saiko. She had her arms wrapped tightly around my neck. I had my arms around her and let her snuggle close to me.

Saiko did let me go after a few minutes. I stood up before Touka walked up to me with a annoyed look. I was getting ready for what she was about to do. But instead she wrapped her arms around my neck and hugged me. I hesitantly hugged her back. She's never done this before. She did let me go after a couple minutes. I got to greet everyone else Niskiki, Kimi, Hinami, Ayato, Uire, Amon, Akira, Yomo, Tsukiyama, and Mutsuki. I eventually had to sit down because my legs were getting tired, the nurse wasn't lying.

"Okay, visiting hours are almost over. Say your goodbyes." A different nurse said as she walked into the lobby. I was a little sad, I wanted them to stay a little longer. I stood up and told everyone goodbye. I got to Hide as everyone else was talking with each other.

"Want to tell them?" He whispered in my ear.

"Um, yeah." I said as I blushed. And he held my hand.

"Guys!" He said before everyone looked at us. He held our hands up. "Me and Kaneki are dating now!" He said as they looked a little surprised. I was blushing a little more and my bangs were covering my eyes a little.

"I-it's true." I stuttered out.

"I saw this coming. With how you protected him against me four years ago." Niskiki said. Saiko walked up to us and looked up. And we looked down at her little figure. She is extremely short for her age.

"Does this mean me, Uire, and Mutsuki get a papa?" She asked.

"I guess so." I said as I rubbed the back of my neck. And then Kimi gasped in excitement.

"Me, Niskiki, Hide, and you can go on a double date!" She said.

"I don't know me and Hide haven't gone on our first date yet." I said.

"Come on! It will be fun!" Kimi said, she really wants the double date.

"You can't really fight against her." Niskiki said.

"I'm okay with it. But you have the last call Kaneki." Hide said.

"Yeah, it's okay. " I said.

"Yes!" Kimi said as she threw her fist in the air.

"You guys really should start going, or the nurses here will get mad at all of you." I said. We all said our goodbyes again. But I had Hide stay behind. Me and him went back to the hospital room. I had him turn his back to me as I got undressed and put the hospital gown back on.

"Hide, could you help me?" I said after a few minutes.

"Yeah, why do you need?" He asked as he turned around to face me.

"Can you the tie knots on the back?"

"Sure." He said before walking over to me and tie the three knots.

"Thank you." I said as I turned around to face him.

"You're welcome." He said as I sat on the edge of the bed. Hide put his hands on the bed, next to my hips. I wrapped my arms around his neck before we leaned our foreheads together and smiled.

"I'll miss you." I said.

"I'll be back tomorrow."

"I know, you always come back."

"And when you get out of the hospital, we can go on our first date. And you can be around me as long as you want."

"Alright, I love you."

"I love you too." He said before kissing me. When we pulled away he kissed me on the forehead. I put my hands on his cheeks and kissed him on the forehead too. He chuckled at me. "Do you want me to tuck you in?" He asked before I chuckled.

"Um, yeah." I said before he moved away from me and lifted the hospital blanket. I got under it and laid down before he tucked me in. I put my hands on his cheeks. He put a hand on mine as he smiled. Then he leaned down and kissed me on the lips. I moved my hands around his neck before he pulled away. He tried to get out of my hold, but I wouldn't let go.

"Come on, Kaneki. I can't stay, I have to go." He said.

"I want one more kiss."

"Fine." He said before leaning down and kissed me again. I took my arms off him as he pulled away.

"I love you. I'll see you tomorrow." He said.

"Love you too. Good night."

"Good night." He said before kissing me again. Then he pulled away and kissed me on the forehead before walking to the door and smiling at me. I smiled back before he left, he did close the door behind him.

The room was dark, the only light was coming from the lights in the hallway coming into the little window on the doot. There was sheet lights outside, I could see on the other side of the window. I rolled onto my right side, where the windows were. I smiled and blushed. I was so happy after everything. I was in love, and the person loved me back.

I couldn't stop thinking of Hide as I fell asleep.
