A couple days later...

Hide's P.O.V.

Kaneki still hasn't been able to get his artificial meat package. And he's starving. I even heard his stomach growl a couple times. He's at the point he makes himself sleep on the couch and has me lock the bedroom door. Because he's scared he'll start to eat me in his sleep. He already started to nibble on my fingers in his sleep. So, of course he got mad at me when I wouldn't stop him and I went to work with bandaids all over my fingers. I did ask for an artificial meat package. So, it'll be here in a couple days.

I was in the kitchen, making myself dinner. Kaneki was huddling himself on the couch, trying to focus on something else then his demanding hunger. He tried to read earlier when I got home, but it didn't work out.

I was cutting some comber for a salad because I decided to be healthy for once. But I accidentally cut my finger with the knife.

"Ow!" I said as I pulled my hand away from the knife and cutting board. I saw that my finger started to bleed.

"Are you okay?!" Kaneki shouted from the couch before running over to me. He cares more about me then himself.

"Yeah, I just cut my finger. I'm okay. Just being my usual clumsy self. Sorry." I said before going to wash my finger, so it wouldn't get infected. But I heard Kaneki starting to sniff at the smell of my blood. I turned to face him, his ghoul eye was brightener because of the smell of blood.

"You want it?" I asked as I held my finger in front of him. And he snapped out of it.

"N-No."

"Ken, it's okay. You didn't hurt me. This will least tie you over until the package gets here." I said before he held my hand with both his hands, the one with the bloody finger.

"A-Are you sure?"

"Yes, I'm sure. I care about you." I said before he licked the blood off. I could tell he was starting to lose himself to the taste. Because he started to suck some more blood out of my finger. But he realized what he was doing and quickly pulled away and backed up.

"I-I'm sorry." He said as he had his hands over his mouth.

"It's okay. Do you need more?" I asked before he shook his head immediately. I sighed before cleaning my finger and putting another bandaid on my finger.

Time skip~~A couple days~~

I was cleaning up from my dinner. Kaneki's artificial meat package still isn't here. So, his hunger has gotten worse. He was huddling himself against the wall next to the bookshelfs. I felt so bad for him. He was going though all this pain and I couldn't help him with it. Well, I can with me being human, but he doesn't want to hurt me.

I was almost done cleaning dishes, when there was a knock at the door. Kaneki kinda picked his head up at it.

"Coming!" I said as I went to the door. I opened it as I saw it was a guy with a shoulder bag.

"I have the meat packages out ordered." He said as got a artificial meat package out from his bag and handed it to me.

"Thank you-" I said before I was cut off by Kaneki running over to take the package. After he got it in is arms, he ran off into the house. I was about to get the package before he ran over.

"Yeah, thanks." I said again.

"Welcome." He said before we smiled at each other. I closed the door before turning my attention to Kaneki. Who was on his knees near the couch and had ripped the paper of the package open. He was trying to tear the meat apart with his teeth, but it wasn't that successful. But he did eventually get a bite out before braking down and crying. Then he dropped the package on the ground. I walked over to him before kneeling down and putting my hand on his back.

"Hey, how about I get you a plate and let you eat in the extra room. While I clean up a little. How does that sound? Does that sound good?" I said in a soft voice before he hesitantly nodded.

"Okay. I'll be back." I said before standing up. Then I went to the kitchen before getting the plate, a fork, and a knife. I also got some paper towels because he had some of the stuff that was like blood on his lips and a little on his chin. I walked back over to him before kneeling down again. I picked up the package by the paper and put it on the plate before rubbing Kaneki's shoulder. And he looked at me with tears in his eyes.

"Here." I said before he held the plate. Then I helped him stand up and I lead him to the extra room. It was a room next to the bedroom, but we didn't have a use for it. So, it's just used for storage. He closed the door before I went to the kitchen and got some cleaning supplies. Then I went to the spot Kaneki had tore his meat package open and cleaned up the mess. After I cleaned up, I put the supplies up before sitting on the couch and doing some work on my laptop. I worked as I waited on Kaneki to get done eating and hopefully come out.

Which he eventually did. He opened the door before slowly walking out. I heard him, but didn't say anything. I heard him put his dishes in the sink and wash them before throwing something away. Probably the brown paper. Then he went to the bathroom. I heard the sink running before it was turned off. He nervously walked over to the couch before sitting next to me. He just sat there a couple moments before leaning his head on my shoulder. Which made me chuckle.

"Do you feel better after finally being able to eat?" I asked.

"A lot better." He responded.

"Good." I said before kissing him on the forehead. Then I went back to work on my laptop. He wrapped his arms around mine before sighing.

"Thank you." He said after a couple minutes.

"For what?"

"For being with me and helping me when I was in pain."

"I did it because I love you." I said as I looked at him. He turned his head to look up at me.

"I love you too." He said before putting a hand on my cheek. Then he kissed me on the cheek. He pulled away before laying his head on my shoulder and closed his eyes. I smiled before going back to working on my laptop.
