POV Rapunzel

“You are really going?” I stare at Jack who is almost like teasing the undead by sitting near the roof’s edge. He nods and smiles while his hair flickers in the wind. His brown eyes were gentle looking and make me feel fuzzy inside even though the situation was the way it was. “Just stay here and I will push that dumpster closer so you can get safely down.” Aww..He cares about us.

My heart beats fast when he is starting his newest stunt. There is like 15 of those things or 20! Many at least. “Be careful!” I yell after him and feel other’s gazes on back of my head. “WHAT!” I turn around and hear how running steps tap the surface of a metal roof. Quickly I turn back and see how Jack jumps down to ground, one knee actually touching the ground as well as his other fist. He takes his looks towards his goal, the dumpsters and he runs to it. Those things, the undead miss him when he does zigzag between them.

I see how Jack reaches the dumpsters that are quite far away. “Do you think he can do it?” Merida asks and shots one of the undead with bolt to head just before it got too close to Jack. I knew what Merida meant when I saw how Jack started to push the dumpster. It had wheels under it but it was really wide and high, industrial dumpster. The height was almost as high as Jack is and it might not be empty. The wheels were creaking when he pushed it with his back. “OH NO!” I yelled when I saw how undead were now pushing the stadiums doors open and slowly coming out in waves of death. They were going out and to Jack.

Jack saw it and pushed harder, “Cover me!” he yelled. He tripped little and lost balance so the movement of the dumpster stopped. Slowly he was becoming surrounded in the middle of the yard. He pushed two of those flesh yarning things away and took some distance between him and the dumpster. We saw how he run towards the dumpster and how his hands grasp its edge and easily he pulled himself up.

“What will we do?” Hiccup was sounding desparate and he paced around the room while rubbing his head. “I KNOW!” He yelled and run to a blackboard holding cafeterias menu. He wiped it clean and started sketching. “So! The plan!” He said excited and I glanced at Merida who looked concentrated when she watched Hiccup forming the plan. Suddenly a voice made us three turn around.

It was the girl named Elsa. She had jump to the roof and running on it. It seemed like she tried to go around the heard of undead by running along the moon shaped building. Elsa tripped over and I saw how her knee got cut from the sharp metal roofs edge. She stood up and kept going, the sound of her fall on the roof caught the undead’s attention as well as Jack’s who yelled “No!”

We saw how Elsa jumped down without thinking. She landed on her stomach and was just laying on the ground for a moment. The undead lost the attention to Jack and were moving towards her, she wasn’t moving. Her body was laying flat on the ground as she was approached by over 30 of those things. “I don’t have enough bolts!” Merida yelled in panic.

Jack groaned frustrated aloud and shook his head. Smoothly he jumped down and was now yelling so the undead would take their attention to him. He waved his hands in the air and those things were now going towards him. Couple of them however still were going after Elsa. “Shoot!” I yelled to Merida and she quickly took down those things. The bolts were sticking out of their heads when they fall down one by one after receiving direct shot. “Jack pot!” Merida yelled in excitement.

“She is waking up!” I pointed at Elsa who was holding her head. “Good but Jack is in trouble,” Hiccup whispered which made me and Merida look at the direction he was watching. We had our attention on Elsa so we didn’t watch what was happening to Jack. He was surrounded, his back was almost touching to an electric fence. He had nowhere to run.

POV Elsa

Oh, my head hurts! Everything is blurry in my eyes for a moment and then I see how two people have their heads pierced by bolts. Two people are already on the ground where these two also fall, everyone’s heads are pierced. It made me gasp until I realized where I am. This isn’t my beloved home town but it is the place where I attended on National Sports Event. These are the undead and.. Oh no!

Now I remember why I jumped from the roof. I look around me and see how Jack is being surrounded. He covers his face with his arms and kneels down when the undead are almost on top of him. “Jack!” I scream and those things turn their heads to my direction, groaning and moaning. Pieces of flesh are hanging from them and they’re bloody. There are limbs missing on some of them and they look hostile. I shiver when I see a bloody organ falling down to ground from one’s open stomach. I believe it was his liver that was followed by a huge line of guts that spread on to his feet. He was dragging them with him with every step, his intestines were wrapping around his feet and the thing finally fell down. The sight made my stomach almost turn upside down.

“Wake up Elsa!” Merida yelled to me and made me snap out of it. Jack needs me, Merida is doing her best with her crossbow but it isn’t enough. “I am out of bolts!” She screamed in panic and I realized that there still are 10 of those monsters trying to attack him. I stood up and lifted my arms over my body, making my hands into fists. I run to Jack and pulled two of them away from him. “Stand!” I yelled to him and he took away his arms from protecting his head. He seemed alright even though they were all around him however Jack’s low position might have saved him from getting ripped or eaten.

I sliced one of the things throat open and blood was spilling out, however not as fast as before. Its eyes were also a lot more blank looking than the other’s that I had killed in front of the cafeteria. Blood was running against my arms as the blades cut the flesh, the sensation was weird when the blade slash the skin first open and then cut deeply.

“Watch out!” Punzie was yelling and pointing right from where we were standing. Jack and I glanced in each other when we saw new pack approaching us. He groaned and pushed me behind of him. “Run when you get an opening,” he whispered without a trace of emotion in his voice. “No! We do it together!” I pulled him from his hoodie next to me and he smiled faintly. “We might not survive you know,” he wiped blood stains from his face. His fair skin was now showing beneath the dark red blood that covered his face. Last sunbeams were making his hair shine and his calmness was filling me too.

“Let’s do this!” He smirked and took one step before me but I quickly stepped next to him again. “Don’t you try to get into business before me,” he chuckled when he saw me noticing his try. “Can’t fool you? Can I?” I shook my head to him and once again raised my hands in fighting position.

Next thing surprised me. “I have nothing waiting for me. You should go and help the others, escape.” He sounded determined now, “I will try to find you. I promise to do so if I live through this.” Misbelieve was the thing I experienced while staring at him. Others were yelling at the rooftop, trying to get those things attention. Every sound went blurry suddenly and my ears were ringing. Jack also started to hold his ears.

The undead had their heads exploding one by one. What is happening? Some brain parts flew to my legs and they were now tightly attached to my tights. “Eww!” I exhaled and tried to kick the sticky stuff away with no result. We saw a girl holding a shotgun running towards us. “Are you guys alright?” She sounded worried. “Yeah,” Jack murmured to her.

I was still gasping since the amount of brain matter in my tights made me feel sick. The girl was staring at me and Jack sighed. “What is wrong?” He asked and furrowed his eyebrows. “This is nasty!” I pointed at my tights and suddenly he kneeled down, pinched the tights fabric between his fingers. He just ripped them off, my tights. I slapped his face with my palm, “PERVERT!” He held his cheek and laughed, “Nope but now you don’t have the problem.” He was smirking.

“Erm?” The girl poked my shoulder and when I watched at her she pointed to the roof. “Who are they?” Others were standing on the roof and yelling cheerfully to us, waving their hands. “They should REALLY stop that,” the girl sounded annoyed, “these things come when they hear a sound nearby.”

Jack rolled his eyes, “SHUT UP!” He yelled and I saw how Punzie slammed a hand over her mouth. Hiccup turned around and crossed his hands while taking a step to get back inside through the window. Merida was almost boiling up, “YOU SHUT UP! Jerk!” Her reaction made me chuckle and I saw how Jack glanced at me, half smirking and half smiling the cocky smile of his.

“Well, let’s get them down!” Jack started to push the dumpster again. I joined him and then the girl did the same. “My name is Alexa,” she smiled to me. “I’m Elsa and this grumpy one is Jack,” I jerked my head to his direction. “Nice to meet you both!” She sounded excited and glanced to us, “I see that Jack here must be just employee but you and others look like athletes. He is way too skinny and fragile looking.” Jack sighed in frustrated way and yelled “Hey!” I tried to hold my laugh when he started to educate the girl. “I AM NO EMPLOYEE! I am a parkourer you know! Easier to climb and jump etc when you’re not all muscles,” he blew the hair out from his face. “Alright! Calm down!” Alexa laughed.

The dumpster banged against the wall. We three quickly looked the surrounding but it seems that those things didn’t see us. Jack kneeled down and made a stair from his hands. “What are you waiting for?” He snapped, “Climb over!” He was ordering me and I made him moan of pain when I made sure to step on his toes before I gently step to his hands. Kind of satisfying really, he is so annoying. Alexa followed me and gave her hand to Jack who waved his hand in the air to sign that he is not taking the offer. “I can manage,” he took a little bit of speed and climbed up. Then we did the same to get from dumpsters to rooftop.

“Do you know what is happening?” Punzie immediately asked from Alexa when we were back in the cafeteria. We all were staring at her and her eyes were glaring at us. “Umm.. Haven’t you seen the news?” We shook our heads and she sighed. “It started on big cities today and it spreads fast. People are going crazy and killing each other.” She shook her shoulders. “I just run from my home in the city,” she sighed.

“Hey! Do you have a car?” Hiccup asked cheerfully and she nodded. “Yeah, there is enough room for all of you and her,” she pointed at Ma’. “But I am afraid that we need to have gas from somewhere. I couldn’t fill it up because the city is like a warzone.”

“What city?” Jack asked. “Burgess,” Alexa responded and I saw how Jack’s eyes were terrified for a moment. “Oh,” he simply whispered. “We need to go!” Hiccup yelled when the banging started again on the door. The undead had heard us. Hiccup and Jack lifted Ma’ from the table and handed her over the window to us girls.

They carried Ma’ down from the roof, it was a tricky job but we managed to do it with only one accidental drop to the rooftops surface. “Be careful!” Punzie gasped when Ma’ hit her head and moaned. Boys looked at each other and made “oops” faces to each others. Even the dog made a frustrated growl when it saw how boys handled the situation.

POV Merida

“Wait a sec!” I yell to others who are running towards parking lot. I run around the yard before following. Quickly I gather the bolts that I shot the undead so they would well, stop moving I guess. The arrow end of the bolt scratches the skulls when I pull it out from the head or at least I imagined it. “Keep cool Merida,” I tell myself. When the bloody mush bursts out of the holes from their heads I try to hold my breath.

“Come on!” Hiccup yells and I see how he is waiting for me in the halfway to parking lot. I hear how the doors open and then the moaning of the undead. “Make it quick!” Hiccup tells me as his dog runs to my side. I throw my bolt bag to my shoulder and hold my crossbow when I run towards Hiccup who also runs after I meet him in the middle.

Punzie is waiting outside the car and waving her hand at us. Elsa is just buckling up the unconscious Ma’ when we reach them. Jack climbs to trunk of the big SUV where Alexa is already sitting on the driver’s seat. “Hurry!” Hiccup screams in high tone and Elsa goes to sit with Ma’. I took the seat next to driver and Hiccup stuffed himself inside with Punzie. Jack took the dog with him to the trunk space. There were four people sitting in the seat for three people. “Ah! Don’t give me elbow!” Elsa exhaled when Hiccup tried to sit. “Sorry!” He gasped and I heard how Alexa started the car and speeded off.

“Come here, here is room!” I glanced back and saw how Jack pulled resisting Elsa to sit with him to the trunk part. “See?” He smirked to her and Elsa slapped her but then Alexa did sharp turn and I saw how Elsa fell on top of Jack. They didn’t have buckle belts there. “WHERE DID YOU GET YOUR LICENCE!” I yelled to Alexa and turned myself to direction where we were driving to. The road was filled with undead and there were abandoned cars.

“Is it this bad?” I gasped and Alexa nodded. We made zigzag and finally broke through the almost too narrow space between those monsters and vehicles without anyone to move them. Few of those things we bumped into and they got crushed beneath the over sized SVU.

“WATCH OUT!” I yelled when there was a buss blocking the road ahead. She turned the wheel and the car rolled over couple of times. It was left to sit on its roof and we were hanging from the belts. “Ouch!” Elsa was moaning in the back. They might be hurt, I unbuckled myself and fell down. I heard how Punzie and Alexa did the same. Hiccup’s dog was barking loudly and Hiccup tried to calm him down. I had to kick the window to break since the door was crushed too badly to open. I crawled out and kicked other windows to break them so other’s could come out.

Jack was laying back unconscious and Elsa was beneath him. “Help us! He hit his head!” Hiccup pulled them out and Punzie took Ma’ from the car. At least everyone is still breathing. “How can we carry two people?” I pointed at Ma’ and Jack. “There is a diner nearby, maybe there is people?” Hiccup said. “And you know this how?” Hiccup sighed, “ Well I am from around here.”

“That is a good reason,” Alexa said. “So, who goes?” I pointed out. “You and Punzie should go with Hiccup since he knows the way. You three should be able to carry Ma’ with you?” Elsa said with worried voice when she lifted the hair from Jack’s forehead. It had a cut and blood was rinsing out.

“Alright,” I said and started to walk. “I have some ammo but you need to hurry!” Alexa yelled after us. Hiccup took us through a forest since he believed that we need to stay off road even though the diner is near the route. A small detour to be safe he said. Hah, I say.

“HERE WE ARE!” He yelled excited when we saw a place with no lights. “You honestly believe here is someone?” He nodded, “there must be! I know a cool guy from here! He will help!” I rolled my eyes as we went to the door.

“No, don’t open –,” Hiccup didn’t even manage to finish his sentence when I was hanging in the air. A trap. My angle was tied with rope that pulled me up. “HELP ME DOWN!” I ordered. Punzie cut the rope with her kitchen knife and we heard laughter, “I thought that you’re one of those things.”

Hiccup rubbed his neck as a guy came from shadows to moonlight. “HI!” Hiccup quickly yelled to that guy. Then he introduced him to us. “This is my friend, Marc.” The guy named Marc smirked to us and waved his hand as a hello. I showed my tongue to him.
