Chapter 19
AN: We're doing double uploads today but in the coming days there won't be a daily upload on this story. This is because I'm currently behind on the next chapter and I'm also working on a new story (at the end of the chapter I have a question regarding that new story make sure you read to the end of it).
Michael yawned as he walked through the house that Austin had rented. It wasn't that early but no one else was up, not even Ritchie and the redhead didn't sleep that often. Michael wouldn't be up but he had woken up early with a new idea and now he couldn't sleep.
He passed by a window, only to stop in his tracks. He hoped he had just imagined that. He slowly backtracked to the window, only to stare as he saw what was floating right outside of the Divinus Magia's island. He stared for a moment before he saw a light building from the island. His eyes went wide and he yelled. "GODFATHER AUSTIN!"
Everyone came rushing in just as the light separated from the floating island and hit the guest hall. The dimensional travelers heard the explosion but could only stare. Then water started flowing over the island, a large amount of it. Austin's eyes went wide before they hardened.
"Alright, evacuation time." He declared as he broke the window.
"Dad?" Brady asked in surprise.
"I'm not trusting the front door during a flood." Austin said before adding. "We're going to get on top of the roof as that'll keep us safe from the flood. I'll go first and help you five up."
No one argued with him, even if Michael sort of wanted to. Ritchie transformed into a bat and flew onto the roof even as Austin climbed out of the window. It took about twenty minutes before the kids were safely out the window and onto the roof.
In the distance, they could hear the sound of fighting, or at least Brady, Kandy, and Austin could with their advanced hearing. Austin, however, wasn't focused on the fighting. No. He was focused on getting the kids out of there. But there was nowhere to go except the docks and they didn't even know if there was a boat there.
"Brandon." The ten year old looked at him. "Can you use your cards to see if it'll be safe to take you all to the docks?"
He nodded and started shuffling through his cards. After a moment, he flipped one over and whatever he saw must have been good since he looked up at his godfather and nodded once. Austin nodded back before he pulled out his key. Leo would be incredibly useful in this situation.
"Open the gate of the lion! Leo!" He said as he turned the key. A bright light shone as Leo materialized into being. The celestial spirit looked like he was going to say something before he looked around at where they were and how scared the children looked. He turned to Austin with a serious expression on his face as he asked. "What's going on, boss?"
"Someone's attacking the island." Austin told him shortly before adding. "I need to get the kids to the docks and I figure it would probably be safer with your help."
Leo nodded once but before anything else could be done, Brandon suddenly gasped.
"What is it, brother?" Ritchie asked in concern.
"I think I can help!" The ten year old said making everyone look at him in interest. "Ok so I've been experimenting with my cards and there's this trick I can do that basically puts someone into a card where they'll be safe until I call them back out!"
Austin's eyes widened before he asked. "Have you done it before, Brandon?"
"Uh huh, I was experimenting with Kay and Jakey and it turned out just fine!" Brandon nodded.
"Is there a limit to how many people you can put inside your cards?" Leo then asked.
"Well, I know I can't do myself cause I have to be able to get them back out, however, I believe that I could do it for both my brother and my cousin, as well as Kandy and Brady." Brandon replied after a moment of thought.
"What about you?" Ritchie asked his brother softly.
"I'll be fine, Ritchie." Brandon told him.
His brother nodded hesitantly. So Brandon did his spell and tucked the cards away in his jacket protectively. Austin went to pick Brandon up but Leo beat him to it. The celestial spirit held the little boy protectively.
"Don't worry, boss, I can get him down in a jiffy." Leo reassured Austin.
"You ok with that Brandon?" Austin asked and after a slight hesitance, Brandon nodded.
They heard another explosion off in the distance and took action. Getting off the roof was a cinch considering that Austin was a werewolf and Leo was a celestial spirit and they both had superhuman abilities because of what they were. It was just a simple matter of jumping off the roof, though the two were surprised that the water level only went up to their knees at most. What were these guys trying to accomplish?
Leo and Austin both ran to the docks with Leo carrying Brandon the whole way. Upon reaching the docks, they saw the members of Divinus Magia gathered. As they ran up, the guild members looked at Leo first as Ritchie asked.
"Who's he?"
"I'm Leo, a celestial spirit." Leo introduced himself before Austin said. "We can discuss that more later considering the island is under attack."
"You saw what was happening?" Older Brandon asked in concern.
"We saw some explosions on the Protectors side of the island." Austin told him before adding. "We would have seen what exactly what was going but we did want to get the children to safety first."
"Wait where are the rest of them?" David asked looking concerned.
"They're safe, they're in a card dimensional thing, which Brandon can explain later." Austin told him.
The members of Divinus Magia decided not to question that. Instead, the guild leaders got a hard look in their eyes as Ritchie said. "We need to get to the Protectors."
"Right." The guild members agreed.
"Leo, watch Brandon, keep him safe." Everyone looked at Austin startled even as he turned to the guild leaders. "I'll come help."
"What? Boss-" Austin held up his hand. "I'm going to go help."
Leo still had an unsure look on his face especially when Mario asked. "You do realize that these are trained mages, right? You wouldn't stand a chance, unless maybe you took the celestial spirit with you."
"Boi, I've fought werewolves, vampires, fairies, nymphs and all sorts of other things throughout my life. I'm no pushover." Austin said with a glare before adding. "I need someone to keep Brandon and the other children safe, and I trust Leo to do it, but I owe you guys so I'm going to help."
There was silence for a moment before Ritchie said. "Very well then."
AN: Ok so I feel like I should explain. Brandon's card dimension thingy he used is based off one of Cana's tricks. Cana, if you don't know, is from the Fairy Tail Anime/Manga, and she uses card magic. Brandon's powers are partially based off of her powers (that's also where the card shuriken came from if you were wondering).
As for my question regarding the new story, I'm currently working on a Supernatural Origins story that has a very odd pairing in it. It's basically the origin story of Pierre, you know the skeleton, and his life from before he became a skeleton, how he came to be the way he is and the future (aka the current season's time), all with my version of the 'spooky scary' skeleton. Now, I mentioned a weird ship and here it is: in this story, Michael and Pierre are shipped They are only shipped in the time from before Pierre became a skeleton so its basically human Pierre x Michael or Mierre (don't ask me why I started shipping this, I don't know but I do). Anyways, I mostly just wanted to get your guys' input on this idea (and the ship) so please just tell me what you think and if you have any ideas for it. Alrighty then guys, bye!
