Chapter 16
AN: Ok so I'm going with Dimensional travelers when referring to all of them, ya know, Austin, Michael, Ritchie, Brandon, Brady, and Kandy, because they kind of are dimensional travelers and there's too many of them. Ok? Ok.
The dimensional travelers were in the house Austin had rented, just messing around as Austin had called a quit to the experiments for the day. Michael was showing off his new speedy powers to Kandy and Brady while Austin attempted to cook dinner. Brandon was messing with his cards while Ritchie was just chilling on the sofa next to him, bored.
After watching Michael show off his powers for a bit, Ritchie got an idea. He got off the sofa snickering and transformed into his bat form. Brandon didn't notice as he was too deeply invested in reading his cards.
Ritchie sneakily flew up to where he was behind Kandy. Brady and Kandy were too focused on what Michael was doing so they didn't hear him as he flew up behind her. Then Ritchie suddenly transformed back and yelled. "Boo!"
Brady and Michael looked over at him startled even as Kandy yelped, turning around as if to defend herself. What happened next couldn't have been predicted as ice came flying out of her fingertips and nearly surrounded Ritchie. Luckily Ritchie was able to dodge out of the way in time but even Kandy looked down at her hands in shock.
There was complete silence before Kandy called. "Daddy!"
Austin turned off the stove as soon as he heard Kandy yell for him and walked into the living room. Even so, he stopped in his tracks when he saw the ice on the ground.
"Uhhhhh? Why is there ice in the living room?"
"Witchie scawed me but when I went to hit him ice flew out." Kandy said even as she looked at her hands.
"... Since when were you Elsa?" Austin had to ask.
"I believe that Kandy is starting to develop powers just like Ritchie and I did when we got teleported to this world." Michael said before adding. "I'm surprised that it just came out like that but I believe I know of someone who could help her with it while we're still here."
"Oh, and who would that be?" Brandon asked curiously.
"This world's David is an ice mage, he should be able to help her with controlling ice." Michael told him.
"Oh, he's an ice mage?" Brandon asked in interest.
"I'm surprised you didn't already know, brother." Ritchie said as he sat back on the floor.
"I don't look to the cards for everything." Brandon rolled his eyes. "I mostly just use them to predict future events, not look into people's pasts."
"But you used it to make that portal?" Michael pointed out.
"That's a simple ritual." Brandon shrugged. "I've been able to do some more impressive things since coming here actually."
"Oh? Like what?" Brady asked in interest.
"Hmmm, well one of the simpler tricks I've picked up is this." A card appeared in Brandon's hand but he wasn't quite done. With a flick of the wrist, the card embedded itself into the wall.
Everyone looked at the card, looked back at Brandon, looked back at the card before Austin finally groaned and said. "Brandon, we're renting this place..."
Brandon just shrugged even as the card disappeared as if it were never there. Well, the hole it created didn't disappear but the card itself did.
"So the only ones who haven't started developed powers yet are godfather Austin and Brady." Michael said thoughtfully.
"Wait what magic does Ritchie have?" Brady asked pointing at the redhead.
"According to this world's Bjorn, I have some kind of strengthening magic." Ritchie told him. "I think that it means I'm a lot more durable than I was before."
"... That's lame." Brady said and Ritchie's eyes flashed red. "I used to be half-vampire, that's not scary."
"Wait, you were half-vampire?" Michael asked in surprise.
"When Brady and Kai were born, Bri and I were a vampire and a werewolf respectfully. So those two came out half and half." Austin explained.
"But Bri wasn't a vampire when I first came to daycare, she didn't become one until Ritchie came." Michael pointed out.
"There are cures to both vampirism and werewolf bites. Bri and I as well as the rest of the kids used them to avoid hunters for a while." Austin told him before adding. "The only catch is you can only use the cures once, so now that I'm a werewolf again, I'll never be able to use a cure to change back into a regular human."
"So Kandy used to be a vampire/werewolf too?" Ritchie asked in interest.
"No, she was born after we had cured ourselves so she never had to be cured." Austin shook his head. "Though I have no idea how those cures would react with someone whose half fox, so neither Bri and I were willing to risk it."
"How many of the kids used to be half or full werewolves/vampires?" Ritchie asked.
"Well, it was Bells, Daxton, Jaxton, Kai, and Brady who all had to be cured." Austin replied before adding. "We didn't have that many kids while I was a werewolf and she was a vampire."
"I thought Coraline was born before me and Kai?" Brady asked curiously.
"Cowaline was a gift fwom angels, Bwady." Kandy reminded her brother.
"Oh right, forgot about that." Brady nodded while Michael, Ritchie, and Brandon all looked confused.
"Uh, what?" Brandon was the first to ask.
"We have a weally weiwd family." Was the only reply.
"Having a weird family does not equal to have a child as a gift from angels." Michael told her.
"In our family it does." Brady, Kandy, and Austin chorused.
"To be honest, they're not wrong." Brandon shrugged. "They do have a very weird family."
"And we're proud of it!" Brady declared.
AN: Hey guys, quick question. I've come up with an idea for everyone's powers except for Austin's. What power should I give Austin?
