Tanjiro's pov - couple days later

"Guys? Have you seen Sanemi?" Mitsuri asked worriedly. "Sanemi? I haven't seen him since yesterday" I responded, eating my dinner.

"I can't find him anywhere, I searched through the whole shelter and nothing.." she said and sat down at the table next to me.

"Do you think.. he may have left?" Muichiro said quietly. Mitsuri's eyes widened "no no, he wouldn't do that, right?!" she said and stood up once again and ran to his room.

She soon came back, yelling "his katana is gone! H-He left! H-" "Mitsuri calm down, it'll be fine" I said and sat her back down, trying to calm her.

She took a deep breath and nodded. "He'll be fine, he already went out twice and got back just right, it'll be okay" I said, rubbing his back.

"You're right… he'll be fine" Mitsuri said and took one more deep breath. I looked over at Muichiro who was sitting at his seat, looking down at the floor, clearly something bothering him.

"Something wrong, Mui?"

He nodded "Yui.. he.." he sighed and looked up at me "I checked on him today, he… he looks terrible.. I-I don't know what's wrong with him but.. I am scared"

I nodded and went over to the room where he was chained. I liked inside to see him lying on the floor. He looked up and started crawling towards me, groaning.

"We have to do something!" Muichiro yelled out in panic. "It'll be okay Mui, it's probably because he didn't eat anything for the past days, let's find something, okay? Just don't panic, it'll be fine"

Muichiro nodded and looked at his arm "don't even think about it, Muichiro, we'll find another way" I said, knowing what he was thinking about.

"So-sorry.." he apologized quietly "but how do you want to get a dead person here! He can't he eat anything else other than human flesh"

I grabbed Muichiro's hands and looked into his eyes ''don't worry, I'll think of something, okay? Trust me" I said, trying to calm him down a bit.

He nodded and looked over at Yuichiro "okay.." he said quietly.

Shinobu's pov

I was in my room, comparing the fleshes to each other and testing them on other things and chemicals.

"What are you doin'?" I heard behind me, having me spill the chemicals. "Mitsuri! What the heck!"  I yelled out.

She laughed and said "sorry~ I didn't mean to scare you, I just came to check on you, how is it going?"

"From what I tried nothing seems to work, it makes no sense" I replied, sighing. "I am sure you'll figure something out sooner or later" she said, smiling "keep up the good work"

Mitsuri then left, leaving me alone in the room. I sighed and placed my hand on my cheek, closing my eyes "she's so beautiful.." I thought to myself.

"Pull yourself together Shinobu, there's no time to simp right now, focus" I thought and looked back at the spilled chemicals

It looked odd… like the black parts were slowly turning gray. I grabbed it again and put it under a microscope. My eyes widened.

The maggot looking things were all dead. “W-Wait.. did I just..”

Muichiro’s pov

“Wait here by the door, I’ll go look outside if there’s any dead body” Tanjiro said, grabbing my katana. I nodded and stood by the door, waiting for Tanjiro to come back with anything we could have given to Yuichiro.

I was stressing so much "what if Tanjiro won't come back?? Something could have attacked him there and he could die!" I thought and started to hyperventilate.

I grabbed my chest tightly, being so difficult for me to breath "what's wrong on?! Why can't I stop shaking? I am trying my best to take a full breath but nothing is working!"

"Muichiro?" I heard next to me. I looked up to see Tanjiro's sister "h-help me" I managed to say before panting heavily.

She immediately walked over to me and sat me down on the floor "it's okay, I am here now" she grabbed my hand and looked around "where is Tanjiro??"

"O-Outside.. Y-Yui.. fle-flesh.." I managed to say before gasping for air once again. I could tell she was panicking, she probably didn't know what to do with me.

She just moved closer and wrapped her arms around me "shhh, it's okay, everything is going to be fine" she said with a comforting voice.

She placed her hand on the side of my head and leaned it on her shoulder, gently caressing my head "listen to my voice, focus on it and try to take a full breath"

I grabbed onto her shirt tightly, finally being able to get one full breath "good job, now keep going, take slow deep breaths" she said and kept stroking my head.

I sat in the kitchen with a cup of water in my hands, waiting for Tanjiro to come back. Soon enough he came back together with Nezuko who held a full trash bag probably full of parts of the human body.

"Okay, take this, the smell is terrible" Nezuko said and handed Tanjiro the trash bag. Tanjiro smiled slightly and turned towards me "I found some," he said simply and I stood up, immediately going to hug him.

"Thank god you're okay.."

Tanjiro smiled and nodded "yup, don't worry, there wasn't many monsters outside s-"

"I-It was so stupid of me to let you outside alone.. I am sorry I was just panicking again and I-I was jus-"

Tanjiro pressed his finger on my lips and looked at me "shh, don't apologize, it's alright" he said and grabbed my hand "let's go to Yuichiro now"

I slightly nodded and grabbed a pair of gloves before walking towards the room where Yuichiro was chained.

There he was again, laying on the floor without moving an inch. I kneeled down in front of Yuichiro and grabbed the bag. Yuichiro took a glance at me and then at the bag, trying to move his arm towards the bag but he was too weak to do so.

I put on the gloves and looked out something from the bag, trying not to look at it much because I knew it would make me sick.

I dropped it in front of Yuichiro's face and backed away slightly. He grabbed it and quickly ate it, trying to reach the bag once again.

I took a glance at Tanjiro, not being sure if I should give him more. Tanjiro just shook his head and grabbed the bag, laying it on the other side of the room so Yuichiro couldn't get closer to it.

"He didn't eat for a while… I think we should give him more.." I said quietly but Tanjiro shook his head "he'll be fine, don't worry" he patted my head "let's go now"

I slightly nodded and closed the door to the room, following Tanjiro to a different room. Suddenly a banging on the shelter door could be heard.

I looked at Tanjiro with a nervous look and he said "go get your katana". I quickly nodded and sprinted away to get it.

Tanjiro's pov

I walked towards the shelter door, hearing yelling "please let me in! I know someone is there! I saw you walking in!" It was a female voice.

"What's going on here?" Mitsuri said with Shinobu being her. "LET ME IN! THEY WILL KILL ME!" she yelled out before screaming on top of her lungs.

Muichiro then came back with a katana and I told him to stand right next to the side where the door was opening.

"Okay! I am gonna open the door but we have a weapon, so if you try to do something to harm any of u-" I said but got interrupted almost immediately.

"YES! PLEASE JUST LET ME IN!" She yelled out and I sighed, slowly opening the door to the shelter. A girl with bangs and a ponytail that was held together by a butterfly pin rushed into the shelter.

"Thank you! T-Thank you so much!!" She yelled out, starting to sob. Muichiro stood behind her, still looking at her, being prepared to make a move if she decided to do something.

Mitsuri kneeled down next to her and cupped her cheeks "are you okay, dear? Are you hurt anywhere?" She asked and the smaller girl shook her head "I-I am o-okay.. ju-just.." she didn't even finish the sentence and started sobbing once again.

"It's okay, you're safe now.. no need to be scared anymore" Mitsuri tried to comfort her. Muichiro looked at her with an odd look and walked towards me "I don't trust her" he whispered.

"You don't trust anyone when you first meet them" I giggled and Muichiro rolled his eyes "shut up.. I am just saying that she just feels.. off.."

"What do you mean?" I asked and Muichiro crossed his arms "I have the same feeling like with that infected woman who came here.. I just don't want her here"

"Mui, that's not really nice.." I said with a frown. Muichiro only quietly hummed and walked away. I sighed and rubbed my eyes "this will take a while.. now I know why Genya was always annoyed by Muichiro's trust issues.. but I guess it's not his fault.."

"What has gotten into him again?" Shinobu said with a slightly annoyed tone in her voice. "You know how he is, Shinobu, he doesn't trust people so easily, he needs time," Mitsuri said and looked at the girl again.

"What's your name, dear?" Mitsuri asked and the girl replied quietly "Kanao.."

"Okay Kanao, were you outside alone or with anyone else?"

"Alone.." she replied quietly and Mitsuri kept asking her couple questions. I decided to go check on Muichiro. I walked into the room, seeing him laying on our bed quietly.

"You okay?" I asked and sat down next to him. "Hm.." he hummed quietly. "Hey, I know you don't trust her but it'll be okay, I am sure she wouldn't do anything to harm any of us, she seems scared and just needs a place to stay at, okay?"

"I still don't trust her.. what i-" Muichiro was interrupted by Mitsuri walking into the room and Kanao right behind her "you guys have a free bed right?" She said and I nodded.

"Okay kanao, you can sleep here, I'll b-" Mitsuri said but was interrupted by Muichiro "No! She won't!"

"Why? We have a spare bed h-" I said but got interrupted as well "that bed was Genya's, she won't just-"

"Just go ahead, it's fine" I said and Kanao looked, sitting down on the bed. Muichiro let out a quiet "tsk", grabbed his pajamas and walked out of the room.

Muichiro's pov

I slammed the door to the bathroom behind me and slid down onto the floor. "He just interrupted me like that, how could he do that.." I sighed and rubbed my eyes, standing up and taking my clothes off before getting into the shower.

The hot water streamed down my body as I struggled to get my thoughts together. I had to get some relief but I didn't know what to do. I sighed and looked down at my crotch.

"Should I.." I thought, being desperate to get these thoughts out of my head and finally feel something good after so long.

I reached down with my shaky hand and grabbed onto my member, stroking it slowly up and down, feeling myself getting harder and harder.
