For once I can say,
I've almost won this internal fight,
Because although your smile still distracts me,
I'm no longer blinded by its light.
And I'm not depressed when you're around,
In fact, I'm almost satisfied,
As if my heart has fallen out of my chest,
And the pain of it all has died.
I smile when you are there,
And I smile when you are not,
Because my heart no longer needs to control,
My every emotion and thought.
