Don't Go
"What are you doing here?" Aurora growled, getting ready to use her Psychic.
"This!"
Blossom hurled another Razor Leaf at Aurora, but the Espeon was ready. She leapt to the side and the leafblade sailed harmlessly beyond her.
Oblivion growled and shot a Dark Pulse at the Leafeon. She didn't see it coming and it slammed into her. It sent her back a few paces before she regained herself.
"He's mine!" Blossom yelled as she sent several Razor Leaves spinning towards Aurora in rapid succession. The Espeon did her best to dodge them, but as she got caught up, one was going right for her head. It was going to slice her skull.
Oblivion's mind raced with a million thoughts at once. Could he use his Psychic? No, he'll hurt Aurora. The leaf was coming too fast. If he didn't act, his best friend would die.
Without a word, the Umbreon rammed into Aurora's unwounded side, grunting with effort. Before he could stumble to the side, the leafblade made contact with his forehead.
"No!" Aurora gasped as Oblivion went tumbling down, dirt and grass flying into the air.
The leafblade vanished in a swirl of pale green light. Oblivion's eyes were paling, and the nasty gash that sliced through his forehead ring was starting to bleed heavily.
Aurora planted her paws in the ground, skidding to a halt. "Oblivion!" She nosed his cheek, inspecting his sightless eyes that stared ahead. When he didn't move, the tears that had welled in her eyes began escaping as she wept over her best friend's fallen body. Her tears littered his beautiful midnight fur, making it shine.
Blossom, who had been paralysed until now, gasped. "You did this!" She shrieked, leaping at Aurora, who was too broken to be angry.
The Espeon ducked and dodged Blossom's attacks, making no attempt to return them. Once she'd had enough, she used her Psychic to spring a shield around her and her fallen friend.
Blossom attacked the shield with Tackles and Razor Leaves and even tried a Grass Whistle, but the light purple Psychic shield was immune to harm.
"Let me in!" Blossom yelled from outside. She readied herself for another Tackle.
Aurora sank to the ground next to her friend, exhausted and devastated. Her tears dropped onto the forehead ring, making it sparkle in the sunlight.
Slowly, the light from the ring travelled to Oblivion's eyes, which were still open. The shining red of his eyes slowly returned in clouds, chasing the grey away. It wasn't long before he was gasping for breath, with Aurora hugging him.
"What? How am I..." he stared at Aurora, scared and confused.
"The sun," she choked. "The sun's rays. I'm a sun Pokémon. I think..." she sobbed. "I think I healed you."
Oblivion and Aurora hugged, crying freely.
The shield faltered and shut off around them, leaving them once again exposed.
"You're alive!" Blossom gasped, dashing towards the Umbreon.
Oblivion regarded her with a cold glare, springing to his paws.
"Leave us alone! You just tried to kill Aurora!" He yelled, his voice threatening.
"B-but... you're supposed to love me!" Blossom stuttered.
"You don't even know my name," Oblivion responded, dumbfounded. He slammed Blossom with a Shadow Shutdown attack and she fell, her sides rising and falling with her breath. She had fainted.
He turned to Aurora.
"Let's get away from here. I know a cave we can sleep in overnight," he looked to, which was about a half hour away from sinking beyond the horizon.
Aurora hugged him tightly. "I'm so glad you're alive," she purred.
He hugged her back. "Well, I couldn't leave you, could I?"
Aurora laughed. "Don't ever leave me, promise?"
Oblivion nodded. "Promise."
The two Eeveelutions padded by the trees and saplings and greenery, towards the edge of the forest, picking up oakberries as they went.
