Hi again! I'm uploading the second of 2 prologues and then I start the real story! art is mine.

Prologue 2, Nightfall

The rainforest has changed everything. I don't enjoy bowing to the lower class tribes but in exchange for living in this forest, it's worth it!

I'm happy, I'm free, no more toxic poisonous smoke. But, I can't help but wonder if somethings missing.

I never thought love is what I needed, or that I'd fall in love with a pantalan dragon but my mother always said "let life surprise you". Now I understand. When I first saw her I was on guard duty and she wanted to live in the rainforest. I handed her the forms and she thanked me.

Since then I haven't been able to stop staring at her. And when ever I'm looking at her she's looking at me. My parents always wanted me to have a normal nightwing wife, so it deeply surprised them when I introduced them to Pine.

Me and pine have been dating for 10 months now and it's changed me. I never want to be without her again.

I told her to meet me at the tip of the clearing, our usual spot. But instead of bringing food I brought something much better, a ring.

"Hi nightfall, why did you tell me to meet you here," she flew in, her plain green wings shining in the dim light. I took her talons in mine and smiled.

"Pine, will you marry me."
