Chapter 8
Ally remembered when her mother got infected, She became a witch and it had scared ally a lot. Why? Well number one her father was extremely educated on the green flu as he was a CEDA worker himself. So the research that they did he of course told ally, After she had promised to not tell anyone. He told her how to deal with all the special infecteds. Tanks are decently weak to Molotovs, or bile bombs since it would make other infected attack the tanks. Smokers cough and shoot the tongues before they wrap around you and choke you. Boomers, gurgle and they throw up bile, which they use for the bile bombs. Witchs you got really close and shoot them in the head with a shotgun. Spitters, just stay out of the goo. The thing that intreasted ally the most was The hunter. A infected that can leap almost 40 feat in the air, and tear down a surviver in less then 1 minute. Chargers could be dodged, but hunters, they were extremely difficult to dodge. Jockeys? If you had a team that could knock them off they were practically useless, unless you were separated from that team.
The other thing that interested ally was the Witch of course, A women that looks like a strong wind could blow her away could one shot a healthy surviver? Not possible right? Wrong, ally learned that the hard way. Her mother was depressed, Like extreamly extreamly depressed. So when an infected has snuck in and Infected her mother she was turned into a witch. She obviously began to sob really loudly Ally might add. Ally and her father had Ironicly enough been talking about witches.
"Hey i'm gonna go check on your mother ok?" He said after perhaps 10 minutes of her crying upstairs. "Okay?" Ally said, confused. Ally had just thought that perhaps her mother had a rough day at work or something, When your mother was crying upstairs your first thought isn't 'Oh my mothers a witch!' It's 'She might have had a bad day.' Ally had heard a Scream and a loud thump like something hiting the floor. It has scared her but she hadn't thought much of it. Until about 15 minutes later her father still hadn't come downstairs and her mother was still crying. "What happened to him?" She asked no one outloud. She decided to go check on him so she walked up the stairs. She slowly and quietly opened the door to her parents room and Saw her mother crying on her bed. Her mom turned to look at her but ally recgonized the bright red eyes of a witch. She quickly ran out the room and slammed the door. The witch had killed her father, and she wasn't gonna call 'The witch' her mom anymore. Spesfically like her father said the green flu was like a mutated rabies. Ally bit her lip and sighed. She hoped she wouldnt have to face this decision but she decided what she was going to do. She was going to crown the witch.
She had almost messed it up and gotten herself killed but lucky for her, she had decent accuarcy. So she had completed it, she winced at the bodies of her parents but had no time to dwell. The virus was already getting out of hand, and she wasnt going to stick around to see it. She started packing her stuff and remembered a promise to a friend close to her. She decided she would sleep at her house tonight, and hope that the 'friend' kept his promise to her aswell. So she locked her door locked her windows and pushed her bed as far away from the windows as she could. She then went into her closet instead and slept on the cold wooden floor.
***********
She woke up the next day with a headache that she just took some ibuprofen to deal with. It faded away to a fuzzy bit of pain which was good enough for her. She grabbed her backpack and two bile jars her father had said if anything went wrong to take. If this wasn't a time to use it she didnt know when. She stuffed them in her bag and grabbed her old baseball bat that she had used to use when she was still in softball. The only use it had now was to you know defended herself. Which again was good enough. She bit her lip and sighed, Then she jumped as there was a knock on the door. She smiled as she already knew who it was they had a secret way to knock on the door and the person did it perfectly. She walked over to the door and opened it. "LAFF!" she shouted and hugged him. "Hey mate." Laff responded, his British accent shining through. "I hoped you would remember." "Of course I did, Despite when we made the plan when we were 10 I remembered it." Laff chuckled. Ally smiled, "Ive got some stuff that can be useful." Ally reached into her backpack and pulled out one of the bile jars. "Here take this. Use it carefully though." She said calmly. Laff took it and started at it with curiosity. "Whats it for?" "Let's get moving and while we're walking I'll explain it to you." Ally responded smiling, "I want to grab something first." Ally said as she ran down the hall to where her father kept his suit that CEDA gave him. She removed the tag and stared at it. She carefully slid it into her backpack and ran back to where Laff was waiting. "You ready?" he asked. "I'm ready." She responded. They started walking towards wherever the road was gonna take them.
-Present time-
Ally opened her eyes and yawned while stretching as she sat up and rubbed her eyes. Light flashed from outside and she peaked out the window to see rain and lightning. The soil was still a bit dry she could tell, So it must have just started raining. She also noticed it was only her and Socks in the Safehouse. The rest of them must've been venturing outside and got caught in the rain. Lightning flashed again outside, Ally glanced at Socks who was sleeping. Snoring quietly, she sighed her eyes flew to her side where a set of bandages tightly wrapped around the wound that the witch had given her. It hurt like fire but she was glad that she was still alive. Socks and her had gone way back. Around 1st grade, they had been close friends. Then Ally had met Laff, and they had just clicked. They started hanging out everyday after school and Ally remembered sitting in Laff's treehouse and talking about Zombies.
"Cmon Laff you know zombies aren't real, they're just stories." Ally laughed as Laff looked around. His gas mask laying on the ground, "Cmon ally, Lets just come up with a zombie survival plan, Just incase." Laff smiled at her. "Alright fine."
So they had, Ally had suggested they meet at her house and Laff do a special knock to tell Ally that it was him. Eventually it was just how the knocked on eachother's doors to play or whatever. Ally back then hadn't even thought about anything like this happening. She looked up as the door handle to the safe house started jiggling. She saw Meme and Blaza run in. Laff followed quickly behind. Laff didn't have his gas mask on. Ally knew what he looked like. Bright green eyes, freckles, Curly sandy blonde hair that looked more brown, and Slightly crooked teeth that Laff was gonna get braces for, despite being almost 20. Nadwe and Muffin dove inside and shut the door quickly. Almost all of them were soaking wet due to the constant downpour. "How long has it been raining?" Ally asked as they all were inside. "Probably about 10 minutes." Blaza responded. Ally had barely woken 5 minutes ago. So she was right, "What were you guys doing out there?" She asked. "Laff thought it would be smart to look for stuff." Meme shot a glare at Laff. "How was I supposed to know it was gonna rain?" Laff retorted. "It's not like we have phones to check!" Laff shouted. "You should be able to smell the rain!" Meme yelled. "Oh right you wear a gas mask, for no reason!" Meme said rolling his eyes.
"Guys keep it down!" Ally pleaded. "We could be dealing with something bad," Ally glanced at the shuffling socks. Laff and Meme glanced at Him as well . "Oh okay yeah catching your drift." Blaza nodded. Blaza cracked his knuckles and sat down. "We'll there isn't really much to do in here." Blaza sighed. "We're gonna have to wait till socks gets better to get moving." Ally said "Our next stop is sugar mill."
