Bonus Chapter #3

Lovely Sonata

Steps are heard through the night. He has been walking through the woods silently for awhile now. His white hair was shining under moonlight, like ghastly fire that was once burning yet now it's dying out just like the flame in his heart.

He was abandoned by his own family for being just a little bit different and left alone, forced to leave his home, leave into the cold world surrounding them. Just because he didn't want to bow to the traditional ways and stupid rules, he was shoved away into the grass like a dead flowed nobody needs.

But he wasn't dead. Although he wanted to be.

As if it wasn't enough, nothing could fulfill the emptiness in his heart after finding out how the love of his life has left him. He will never forget her purple hair he used to brush during nights like this. He gave her his heart and she coldly took it away from him and dumped at the moment when she kissed none other than the elven princess.

"Lesley... Why have you done this to me?" He asked bluntly, letting himself fall on the ground and lying there on the cold grass, the warm spring wind blowing through his hair, dancing with his turquoise scarf. He didn't have enough strength to pull it back to him and wrap it around his neck once again.

His clothes were black just like the night above him with just few bronze details and a golden symbol of his family representing stars spreaded across the night sky. It was the last symbol connecting him with his ancestors.

He grabbed the star badge and threw it away. He didn't need it anymore. He was banished from his family anyway.

"If you already left... Why have your left me now, why has everybody left me now, in agony and pain when all I want is to also leave. To leave this world of pain. To leave into the calm of death..."

Little did he know there was somebody watching him. It was just a little girl, but her smile had the ability to heal up the broken, her hand strong enough to show people the right way. Her mission on this land was to show broken souls the beauty of life and teach them how to love again. She was made to love everyone and just recently was met with this noble feeling he needed help.

Like an angel, a dove of love, sent to him.

The white haired boy's cheeks were wet from the tears he cried out when he suddenly heard a soft voice speaking to him: "Don't cry, Gusion. It's not over."

He opened eyes and shot the newcomer with a glare. "Who the hell are you? Please just don't tell me you're one of the girls from the village who are desperately trying to get the title of a noble by marrying me!" He snapped at the girl.

He was in no mood to chat or even deal with other humans. The life has turned its back on him. "If so, you have nothing to get here. Leave like everybody does as soon as it gets dark! Because it already is dark..."

Indeed, people tend to stick with others in their joy and leave in the poor times when they need them the most. It's funny how everybody wants friends yet nobody wishes to be a friend. Everybody wants to be loved but nobody truly loves. They all use you while they can and then disappear, like a wildfire, leaving the rotten, charred remains to wait their meeting with final judgement.
Waiting to turn into dust.

He was waiting to turn into dust.

"No... I'm not leaving without you." She spoke. "I know your soul... I know your pain and all the sorrows. Let me help you. They have banished you and you from your own home and broke your heart, I see you're in pain,."

"No, that's more than pain. You can't possibly know... Nobody knows and nobody even tried to understand when I speak about it!" He said angrily. "Seriously. Leave. Go enjoy your little life... Because the bigger it gets, the more you start understanding how dark everything around us it."

"Please..." She started rolling eyes. "The only way to see the light is to meet the darkness! I've met it! My father was killed when I was just being created and now... I'm alone." The girl spoke making Gusion go quiet. He had no idea who this new girl was but he felt something around her, like aura of hope.

She then continued: "But just because of all the pain, I want to help you. I want to help those who feel broken. I know how it feels, to want to die. You lost hope in humanity, you think they will all betray you but the truth is that it's just the fear of being let down again which is drowning you and restraining from seeing new hope in each new day."

He stared at her deeply. "Who are you...? And what do you want from me...?" His questions was full of wonder. He was shocked and spoke slowly while leaves were singing song of the night.

The girl was wearing dark green dress, like a maid, but she wasn't a classic servant... Her blue hair was dancing on the wind, her huge doll-like reddish eyes glowing with moonlight in them. She had white lace in her hair with two very dark bows, one on each side of the lace. Her face looked worried. She is going to do whatever it takes to get him back inside.

She knelt down next to him and said: "My name is Angela, that's all you need to know. As for what I want,  I want you to feel well. I want you to live." She smiled at him, trying to brighten up the mood but he simply looked away remaining as blue as before.

"Please spare me... Tell me one reason why should I keep living?" Gusion asked after few moments and gazed at her. "One, only one! I bet you, there is nothing. This world is death just waiting to take everybody. Instead of wasting time and suffering until the old days, I will simply die now, young and alone."

"It isn't only about you!" The young girl exclaimed. "There are still people who care for you. If you die now, there will be left a gap in their... our hearts where you were supposed to stand. You can't take that part of our lives away from us all..." She said

"If you aren't gonna say anything smart than better leave. If any of them cared for me, they wouldn't banish me from my own home, she wouldn't cheat on me and leave without saying goodbye..."

Angela sighed. This is going to be hard but she has all time of the world and is willing to spend as much as it takes to bring this soul away from the edge of the abyss.

She slowly took his hand in hers and squeezed it. "I care for you." She said lovingly with bright shine in her huge beautiful eyes.

His eyes widened. He just thought for a moment before gazing at her. "How can you possibly care for me when you've met me today..." He mumbled.

"It's easy really! I'm here to love everybody who needs my love, not matter who that person is." She said with a warm smile. "Please, keep living for me..."

"Ah... Still makes no sense... Why would you do this all for me?" He mumbled. He still felt a pit in his stomach and no wish to keep going but there was a spark coming from her which was slowly lighting up the guiding lamp he used in his life until everything that has happened to him blew it out.

"Come here!" The girl said, pulling him closer to her. He slowly sat up and before he could realise what was happening, the girl leaned in and kissed him warmly. Nothing else mattered, just her lips on his own. His mind was in chaos but it was slowly clearing out just to realise he felt a new feeling in his stomach.

It wasn't just the eternal emptiness. She gave him new strength to stand up. He slowly returned the kiss, pulling her closer in the darkness of the night which was surrounding them.

They separated slowly and within a moment, the girl was gone, like a dream. The last words he could hear were: "Things are gonna get better. Trust me."

With that, Gusion was left alone in the darkness of the woods. He felt a new energy flow through his body. Her kisses were magical. They healed, both physical wounds and broken souls.

He looked around, no idea where the girl was. He couldn't help but smile feeling his heart beat faster. He slowly stood up and whispered: "Thank you... Angela..." The wind blew away his whisper. "I will keep going, as you said..."

He slowly made his way back towards the town where he came from just to see a familiar face on the street. There was a purple haired female with blue flower in hair being surrounded by few well armed men threatening to kill her. She had her eyes closed as she was backed up against the wall.

Gusion's eyes widened. "N-no..." He mumbled. "Lesley?" He was met with the girl who just broke his heart just few days ago and now he was met with the hardest choice ever - to help her, or let her die?

Despite how much pain she has caused to him, he had to help her. He dashed in and with just few swings of his blade, the girl was safe. She now opened eyes just to find herself in his arms. "G-gusion!" She said happily, embracing him. "I'm so glad I see you. I thought... you were mad with me..."

"I was..." He mumbled letting go of her. "Still don't believe you could come back after what you did..."

Lesley sighed. "You heard the rumors, huh? Well... not all you hear is true! I had a mission. I had to infiltrate in their palace and that was the only solution I had, the only idea left after everything else failed." She spoke. "I had to seduce the princess... but I still love you... only you." She said turning his face to look at her.

Her eyes were clear like sky of a warm and sunny day, her smile ever so gentle. "Please... give me one more chance..."

Gusion was surprised, he slowly took her hand in his. Things are finally getting in their place. Maybe the girl he has just met was really right... Things are gonna get better.

***

For him at least...

But nobody asks how she feels.

What if Angela is the one whose heart is broken?

She knew what's happening. She watched him from a distance, hearing everything that's happening. She was happy he felt better but seeing him hold his loved one once again just made her feel an unpleasant feeling in her heart.

As if a pit opened and everything was falling into it, consuming all the positivity and herself. She was being slowly eaten up by that feeling from inside.

She was made to heal up all broken hearts, to love everyone. But all that love now belongs to one person...

"Gusion... I have never felt this way before... Is this the 'true love' how you people call it?" She whispered, her voice being lost in the air of a sleeping town while she witnessed the reuniting of an almost lost couple.

But how can she heal the broken if she is the one whose heart is broken?
How can she love everyone if her heart was stolen?
Stolen by the one who can never be truly hers...
