Far Away

Atlyneth had just gotten settled into her new room at The Land of Departure. It was actually her somebody's old room when they trained with Aqua and Terra over a decade ago. The group had decided to take a breather before going to meet with this "Jack Skellington", who Ventus claimed was a friend of Xatlyn.

Sitting on the bed and staring out the window, she was startled by a knock on the door. "Lyn, it's me. Can I come in?" She hears Terra's voice from the other side. "Go ahead." She turns to the door as Terra opens it, walking in with a large suitcase.

Terra sets the suitcase down before sitting next to Lyn. "Anything new since Ven?" He asks her, getting a negative head shake in return. "We just need to try the exposure thing that Ansem and the others suggested." She says, completely dejected. Terra nods in understanding, placing a gentle hand on Lyn's shoulder. "We'll be leaving in about an hour to go find your friend." Terra tells her. "He'll possibly be able to help us." Lyn nods in understanding.

As Terra stands up to leave, he grabs the suitcase, handing it to Lyn. "Master Yen Sid sent this for you." She clicks the case open, seeing brand new clothing in various colors and a flannel pattern. "Also a gummi phone so we can still talk to each other." Terra continues explaining.

Lyn gets up from her bed, pulling Terra into a hug that he easily reciprocates. "Thank you for being here." She whispers. He smiles to himself, feeling as if his sister had returned to him, but she wasn't entirely there. "I'll always be here for you." The two separate from the hug and Terra leaves the room.

Terra closes the door behind him and turns around, being startled by Ventus just standing there. "Woah!" He freaks out, almost backing up into the door. "Oh! I'm sorry!" Venture holds his hands up in surrender. "I totally just jump scared you. My bad." Terra calms down from the shock as Ventus sheepishly scratches the back of his neck.

"It's fine, Ven." Terra had finally calmed down. "How's ma doing?" Ven asks Terra. Terra looses his smile, thinking back on his interaction with Atlyneth.

Ventus saw Terra's change of expression, getting the message. He lowers his head in shame. "I just want my mom back." He says to himself, but Terra heard. Terra places a hand on Ventus' shoulder like he did with Lyn. "We'll get her back. I promise." Ventus nods in understanding before turning and walking away.

"Ma has a heartless counterpart, right?" Ventus asks Terra, stopping in his tracks. "She does." Terra responds. "Would she be made into a replica like Ma?" Ventus asks.
