The Egberts and Dave all piled into the car after loading their gear and set off to Utah. Dave worked on some beats on his laptop in the car and John thought up some new pranks and jokes. Dad played an audio book of Jane Austin's "Pride and Prejudice".  He also later put on a cooking audio book.

Once they got there, Dave could barely hear because he was wearing headphones the whole time and didn't pop his ears. They settled into their resort room and went to bed. The next day, John helped Dave get ready to go out onto the slopes.
