Chapter 4: Aunt Hela
Two weeks later, I was practicing my magic, when I heard Daddy's voice out on the balcony. I peeked around the door to the balcony and saw Daddy with a lady I had never seen before. She looked like Daddy though.
"D-Daddy?" I said nervously.
"Shelby?! What are you doing up? It's 2:30 am. You should be in bed," Daddy scolded.
"But I was practicing my magic," I said pouting.
"Magic?" The woman said.
I hid behind Daddy. Normal I wasn't such a shy person. But I didn't know if I could trust that woman yet.
"Shelby, this is your Aunt Hela. There's no reason to be afraid of her," Daddy said.
"My aunt?" I asked.
Aunt Hela walked towards me and began to study me. I felt a little uncomfortable with her staring at me, but I dealt with it. Suddenly, she smiled gently at me as she pulled me into a huge, crashing bear hug.
"She looks just like you Loki. Well, all but her bright Emerald green eyes. And her magic! Oh my gosh is it powerful!" Aunt Hela squealed. I smiled proudly.
Just then, Uncle Thor rushed in. When he saw Aunt Hela he grabbed her by the throat and slammed her against the wall. Daddy held me tightly and shielded me as pieces of the wall flew everywhere. I screamed in pain as a piece of the wall hit me on the right side of my head.
"Thor! Stop this! Hela has yet to do anything!" Daddy yelled. I trembled in Daddy's arms. I had never seen Daddy so mad before.
"Thor please?! I mean you no harm! I swear it!" Aunt Hela cried.
"I don't believe you!" Uncle Thor yelled.
"But I..." Aunt Hela started.
"Shut up!" Uncle Thor yelled as he raised his arm to strike Aunt Hela. I gasped. I couldn't let Uncle Thor hurt Aunt Hela. She hadn't done anything.
Without thinking about what I was doing, I grabbed Uncle Thor's arm and used my magic to freeze it. Uncle Thor, Daddy, Aunt Hela and the Avengers, who had just walked in, all gasped. I pulled away a little shocked at myself.
"Shelby? Why did you..." Uncle Thor started.
I cut him off screaming, "Don't hurt Aunt Hela! She hasn't done anything! Leave her alone!"
"Shelby..." Aunt Hela said. She looked like she was about to cry. I rush over and hugged her tightly. She hugged me back.
"Please don't cry. I love you Aunt Hela. Just like I love everyone else here," I said.
"I love you too Shelby," she said hugging me tighter.
