Chapter Fourty-Seven

Another tattered paper covered in crayon drawings fluttered into Aeolus's hand, which was hand to Leo. Leo paled and staggered backwards. Crystal placed a hand on his shoulder to comfort him.

"What is it?" Jason asked.

"A drawing from when I was a kid. It's nothing," Leo shoved it into his pocket.

Finally, Aeolus turned to Crystal. "Crystal Clearwater. Daughter of the unknown. I know your past and your future."

Crystal blinked. He knew her past and future?

"Yes, I know who your parents are. Both your parents."

"You do?" Crystal whispered.

Aeolus nodded. This time, he handed her a letter. On the front, it was address to her. The back was sealed with red wax. It had an odd crest, containing a lion, a snake, a badger, and an eagle.

"Do not open that until your mission is over," Aeolus said seriously.

Crystal continued to stare at the envelope while the other demigods spoke to Aeolus. Her fingers traced the wax seal. Her focus was broken when she heard a loud burp from the entrance.

"Who is that?" Mellie asked, looking lovestruck.

"That's Coach Hedge, our... uh, guide," Piper replied.

Mellie sighed. As Hedge flirted with her, Crystal spoked to Aeolus. "Can you help up get to Piper's dad?"

"Yes. He is at Mount Diablo," Aeolus began to smile but his face went slack.

"Is something wrong sir?" Mellie asked.

"I'm sorry, son of Jupiter. I have new orders. You all must die." The god waved his hand and all hell broke loose.

The floor suddenly collapsed and Mellie lunged for the group. They grabbed onto each other as they free fell.

"Quick! We must control the air or we die!" Mellie yelled.

Crystal and Jason grabbed each other in the group hug and channeled their powers. It helped control their fall, but they were still going fast. Crystal looked up and saw the storm spirits close in on them. They all painfully tumbled into an open tunnel.

"Stay together! When the winds hit-" Mellie was interrupted by Piper screaming.

"Look!" Behind them, the tunnel grew darker.

Mellie quickly said, "I will help as much as I can."

"I hope you find a new job, Mellie!" Crystal called out.

The aura smiled and disappeared, enveloping everyone in a gentle breeze. Seconds later, strong winds hit them, shooting them high into the sky.

Then everything went black.
