Crystal widened her eyes. She had never noticed it before. Every single thing was made of gold.

"Wow," Leo whistled.

Suddenly, a man walked into the room with a toothbrush in his mouth. The man froze and called out for someone, presumably his son. A very handsome young man entered the room. He had brawny arms and a fairly handsome face. His dark eyes narrowed and he immediately started running toward Leo. He raised a big sword over his head and swung down on Leo. The Latino yelped and threw his arms over his face. Before the sword got too close, Crystal intervened with her dagger. She glared right into the man's eyes.

"Attempt that again and I will skin you alive with your own sword!" Crystal growled, pushing away the attacker's sword. 

Jason nervously chuckled, "Uh, Crystal? Let's be nice, uh, we are trespassing."

The old man smiled, "Thank you! Lit, do not harm them."

Lit huffed and sheathed his sword. "You are lucky your girlfriend was there to save you, you would have been on a stick." 

The man forced a smile. "I suppose there's no reason for formalities. I am King Midas."

Coach Hedge scoffed. "King Midas is dead."

King Midas smiled. "I suppose I was. I like being alive much better."

Something didn't sit right with Crystal. There was a vibe pulsing in the room. She also didn't appreciate the way Lit was looking at her. Midas and the others continued to talk about the king's gold touch. Crystal was just starting to zone out when she heard something alarming.

"I suppose you'll just have to join my collection."

Suddenly, King Midas reached out and grabbed Piper, who immediately turned to solid gold. 

"Hey!" Before Crystal could move, Midas turned Leo into gold too.

"Leo!" Crystal pulled out her dagger.

Jason flipped his coin and a golden spear appeared. Crystal steadied herself into a stance. The battle was on.

Lit ran at the two demigods. He slashed and sliced faster than anyone could imagine. Miraculously, Crystal dodged them all. She even got a nick on him before Jason shoved Lit into Midas's throne. King Midas mistakenly tried to help up his son. Lit turned into gold. 

Midas growled in anger. "You'll pay for that!"

He lunged at Crystal, she tried dodging, but she was caught off guard and the man was extremely fast. Midas's hands wrapped around Crystal's throat and everything turned black.
