Chapter 67
Narrator's pov

"California, oh how I've missed you" Luna chuckled as she stepped into her house
During her trip in London, she had Taylor organized the paperwork for a house. She wanted a space alone, she wanted a space where her and Aelia could live without the interruptions of the outside world.
Although they'd never officially moved in together during any time of their relationship, this was the step she wanted to take
Ivy and ferns grew around the gate the near the newly structured stone path, which led directly to the colossal structure. The mansion loomed proudly behind iron gates, flanked by rows of skeletal trees crowned in crimson, swaying gently to the chilly wind. At its threshold stood the delicate marble fountain, the soft gurgling of the clear water melodic as it resonated in the surrounding silence. Luna's old Ferrari, Range Rover and new limo was parked right in front of the door
A small rose garden had been planted in front, and although it had obviously once been carefully planned and loved
The house was welcoming from the open door to the wide hallway. Upon the walls were the photographs placed by Taylor of Luna's much younger self and photos the girl had with Aelia, so obviously so loved.
The floor was an old-fashioned parquet with a blend of deep homely browns and the walls were light grey, adding a darker feeling to the place just the way Luna liked it meeting a bold white baseboard.
The banister was a twirl of a branch, tamed by the carpenter's hand, it's grain flowed as water might, in waves of comforting woodland hues. Under the lamp-shine it was nature's art, something that soothed right to the soul.
It was three stories high and had a one story extension at the rear for the kitchen. The wooden framed sash windows were propped open in the kitchen.
Luna was always a person for space, she didn't like to be confided by a small area that was homey, she wanted enough space to drive a car into every room she went into. Especially since she's grown up all of her life in a castle.
"Welcome back Ms Amon, Ms Green" James smiled widely as he approached the woman
"Jaaammmeeesss" Aelia screamed and she ran towards the man, throwing her arms around his stomach
"Nice to see you too Aelia" the dark skinned man chuckled softly
"Wait, I missed you moreee" Luna squealed and ran towards the man
James eyes went wide when Luna sprinted towards him with full speed, jumping over Aelia and hopping onto his back, causing all three of them to fall down like rolling pins
"Isn't that sweet" Taylor chuckled as she walked into the house
"TTTAAAYYYLLOOORRRRR" Luna screamed
"Hello Ms Amo-Oh" Taylor's eyes went wide when both Aelia and Luna ran and hugged her tightly
"Missed you" Luna smiled
"Missed you more" Taylor chuckled softly
"What have you been up to?" she asked
"Remember that small yoga studio I went to?" Taylor asked
"Yes"
"Well someone was being a Karen and said Asians shouldn't do yoga-"
"Racist piece of fucking trash" Aelia hissed
"Yes. So I bought the entire yoga studio, so now she pays me to come there" Taylor smirked
"That's my girl" Luna laughed
"Thank ya" Taylor grinned
"So what about you James, what have you been doing?" Aelia asked
"I... I've actually been taking alot more dance classes and it's starting to pay off. My sponsor told me that I bring more people into the club everyday than the other male exotic dancer's combined. It's actually really nice" He chuckled
"Well good for you. Grinding and making that bread, I'm proud of you for doing what you like" Luna smiled
"What have you two been up to?"
"Well, I still have some stuff to deal with in the office tomorrow" Luna said
"And my week is off so that means I'll be hopping right back into the studio after today" Aelia groaned
"Oh wow, seems like you both will be busy. Why did you buy a house together if you'll mostly be on the road?" Taylor questioned
"Because, it will still be a place where I get to come home and see this angel standing in front of me" Aelia smirked
"Half angel sweetheart, half angel" Luna laughed
"SHHH you're ruining the moment!"
"I know, but I'd like to ruin you-"
"OKAY I think it's time we head out now, don't you think so James?" Taylor chuckled
"Right, I have to get to work a bit early. By the way, I forgot to ask you guys something" James said
"What's that?"
"My birthday is coming next week, I was wondering if you're not busy maybe you guys could come over. I'm having a small party for some friends" James said as he pulled his long trench coat onto his broad shoulders
"Are you kidding me? Fuck yeah we'll be there" Luna smiled
"Thanks girls, see you guys later" James chuckled before heading out
"Luna" Taylor said
"Yes?"
"It's good to see you in one piece" the woman smirked
"you expected me to come back in there pieces didn't you?" Luna chuckled
"I... Yes but that's not the point!"
"Yes! That is the point Taylor!" Luna laughed
"Oh shhh, I'm gonneee" Taylor giggled as she waved the two girls goodbye, leaving them in their new home
"Well, what do you wanna do?" Luna smiled
The demon dropped herself onto the wide couch in the living room, allowing herself to sink into the soft cushions. The two girls were exhausted from traveling, not even caring to being their suitcases inside the house
Aelia chuckled and walked over to the couch, dropping her body onto her girlfriend's own. Luna groaned when the blonde plopped onto her chest
"Owww" she hissed
"Hush, you love me" Aelia smirked as she adjusted herself
"Not this much" Luna groaned causing her girlfriend to gasp
"How dare you" Aelia playfully glared
"Shh, just hold me" Luna mumbled and she tucked her arms around Aelia's stomach
The blonde chuckled and pulled her girlfriend closer. Just as the first bite of cold wind crept under her shirt, Aelia's hand moved around Luna's middle, warm and soft. In seconds her body is moulded to Luna's own, sharing her body heat as easily as she shared her heart.
Luna knew she could never let another close to her like this, but she's so different. She's never known a person to always have the right motivations, even when she's wrong. There's a purity to her, naivety perhaps, but she's the only flower in the meadow for her eyes
"So, our first nap together in our own house" Aelia chuckled
"This was long overdue" Luna groaned
"I know, but it's finally happening. Things are starting to fall into pieces" The blonde mumbled against Luna's neck
"You ever wondered what would have happened if none of that stuff happened back then and we were still together?" the demon questioned
"So-sometimes I do. Five years is a long time to be together, maybe we would have actually gotten married, have kids-"
"Kids!?" Luna's eyes went wide causing Aelia to laugh
"Yes, kids. We're having children whether you like it or not" the girl smiled
"ew"
"You're ew" Aelia glared
"Thanks, that's exactly why you want to marry me" Luna wiggled her brows
"Ugh shut up" Aelia rolled her eyes, causing her girlfriend to chuckle
"I have no idea what career I'd even take up here if it weren't for my father, he actually gave me that push to start thinking clear" Luna mumbled
"There's nothing you like to do?"
"I like to do you-"
"LUNA!"
"okay okay, no I don't like anything else" Luna chuckled
"What about painting?" Aelia asked
Luna furrowed her brows and bit down on her bottom lip as she thought deeply about that. She'd always loved the feeling she received when she painted, it felt so surreal.
Sometimes she'd feel like she was lost in her own world, each stroke on a canvas was bringing it to life, each line that was drawn was a story. Painting was the only way Luna felt calm and comfortable in her own skin. It was something she admired and loved to do, how did she even forget?
"I actually really do like to paint" Luna smiled
"I guess you would have been an artist" Aelia smiled sweetly
"Maybe. I think I might install an art room in the basement of the firm" Luna said
"Really?"
"If I'm ever feeling stressed the hell out then I'll just head down to the basement and throw paint at the wall" Luna laughed
"that's... Oddly cute"
"You're oddly cute" Luna whispered above her girlfriend's head, placing a kiss on her forehead
"Simp" Aelia groaned
"For you? Anytime"
"..so... What did you think?" Aelia asked
"About?"
"Ge.. Getting married" Aelia mumbled as she chewed her bottom lip nervously
The blonde knew what she wanted and she knew who she wanted. That answer is and forever will be Luna Amon. They were old enough and wanted nothing else but each other, Aelia wanted to take that next step in their relationship that she desperately wanted so bad, but the mere thought of Luna saying no would kill her
"Girl, do I look like I'm the kind of person to be tied down by one person!?" Luna smirked
"Oh shut up, I'm being serious " Aelia rolled her eyes and peeled her body away from her girlfriend
"Relax, I'm joking. There's nothing I want more than to get married to you sweetheart"
"...really?" Aelia mumbled
Luna chuckled and propped herself onto her elbows with Aelia on her lap. She brought her fingers to the blonde's cheek and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear
"Yes really. But-"
"But!? There's a but!?" Aelia panicked, the girl's heart felt like it had shriveled up and sunk into her ribcage, disappearing into thin air
"Waiiit, let me speak" Luna giggled
"There's a BUT"
"yes. I'd ask you to marry me this second Aelia... But I want to get to know you. I want to get to know the new Aelia, not that highschool girl. Sure I love that highschool girl with every fiber of my being but we're all so different now. You've changed, Zack's changed. Even I have, and we're all adjusting to life every single day. I want us to date, find ourselves again. I don't want to rush into anything just because we know each other for so long and we're in love. It's fresh again, why not try to understand each other more and see what happens?" Luna said in soft voice
Aelia smiled like never before, the ends of her lips curled up and she grinned brightly, bringing her body down towards Luna's chest again. When they finally clasped each other in a warm, slow and luxurious hug, they felt all oppositions to their love had melted.
Her chest rising and falling against her back, their breaths in unison, and the warm blood that they could feel in each others' embrace.
"I'd love to take you on a date" Aelia whispered
"And I'd love to go on a date with you" Luna giggled
"Then let's go right now" Aelia smiled
"Oh my God, are you serious?" Luna laughed
"What? I'm starving" the blonde chuckled
"You're so cute" Luna whispered as she wrapped her arms around Aelia's back
"I know" Aelia smiled.
"Here's what we'll do. We'll head to dinner after this" Luna said
"After what?"
"After I get an hour of sleep"
"I- that honestly sounds good to me" Aelia chuckled
"Goodnight Aelia" Luna chuckled as she leaned her head to the side, closing her eyes
Within seconds, the demon was knocked out. Her chest rose and fell gently, her lips slightly parted as she belonged to the unconscious mind
Aelia couldn't help but smile at her girlfriend, she always seemed to peaceful when she slept.
Aelia leaned upwards and placed the softest kiss on her girlfriend's lips, almost like two rose petals brushing against each other in the spring wind
"Goodnight Luna"
