Chapter 12

Aelia's pov

-
The sun peeked through the thin shade of the blind. Igniting the world anew with such brilliance, the sun rose with casual elegance. Each day she shone and the world shone back, joyful to reflect those warm rays. It was far from what I was feeling.

Anxiousness. It came as an electrical storm in my brain that was honestly painful. It's different from a headache and it felt the same as intense sorrow, perhaps as a sort of frozen panic with nowhere to go.

My hands gripped my phone, the notifications reminded me of last night. Thousands and thousands of spammed messages about the mystery girl that showed up to the cafe lastnight.

I went right into Jeff's messages knowing he would be furious. I sighed as I opened the message, as usual it was blown out of proportion.

But what was I supposed to do? I can't stop myself from feeling emotions.

I groaned and stepped out of bed with my phone in my hand as I headed downstairs, it vibrated in my hand. I quickly answered Jeff's call as I approached the kitchen Island.

Justin smiled sweetly at me before returning to his bowl of cereal, he wasn't one for meat as breakfast.

Ptff, couldn't be me.

"Good Morning Jeff" I greeted

"Good Morning Aelia" he said

"Is something wrong?" I teased, I saw Justin smile and shake his head in the corner

"It's everywhere!" he yelled

"What's everywhere?" I smirked

"Aelia Green, do not play with me" Jeff said through gritted teeth

"I really don't know what you're talking about" I laughed

"There's videos, photos everything's going around about this mystery girl that appeared out of nowhere. Some are even shipping you two. But this won't distract from the proposal"

"Oh, yeah. That" I muttered, my eyes glanced in the direction of Justin

"Listen. The proposal was all management's idea. But I meant every word I said" Justin whispered, her fingers pressed against my palm

In that moment I realized something. Justin really did care about me. This wasn't just a fake relationship to him, it was real. Sadness flowed through my veins as my eyes locked with the brown skinned man, here I was blocking my heart when he was doing his best to get in.

"Really?" I asked

"I really care about you Aelia. I'm not pushing anything but maybe after the marriage, we could actually go on a real date? I know it sounds weird but whatever" He chuckled

"I'll take control of everything, you don't have to worry about a thing. These things happen all the time in Hollywood, ask Shawn Mendez and Camila" Jeff said

"What are the expected ratings?" I asked my manager

"About 96% media coverage boosts your ratings to 100%" He said

"I guess it'll be worth it for both of our careers huh?" I mumbled

"I won't do anything to make you uncomfortable" Justin said, I smiled sweetly before pecking his lips

"Alright fine, I'll fake marry you" I chuckled

"YEEESSS" he squealed
"I mean.. I know it's fake and all but just the thought of walking down the isle with you is fucking crazy. I'm so excited"

"You're so weird" I laughed

"Shut up, you're fake marrying me" He smiled before returning to his food

"Back to business, you have a album signing later on" Jeff said

"What time?"

"Around 10am tomorrow. Right now, I want you and Justin to go to a coffee shop to get a few shots, wear your ring too" Jeff said

"God I hate this already" I groaned

"Come on, let's go" Justin chuckled

"Let me Atleast shower first"

----------------

"The outsides pisses me off" I groaned

"You can't be cooped up in the house all day Aelia, you're not on vacation yet" Justin laughed as he opened the door

Immediately, the blinding lights attacked my poor face. Luckily my sunglasses were on, Justin held my hand to show off the massive diamond ring. It must have costed a fortune, I would have felt so bad if it was actually a real proposal

I know I said I'd give this relationship a chance but marriage was just too soon. I wasn't even sure about how I even felt about him besides finding him attractive.

But he's such a nice person who deserves nothing but the best. Too bad my heart wasn't in it and he knew that..I think.

Justin pushed open the door and I entered the familiar coffee shop from last night. The Brazilian beans and hot chocolate steam filled my nostrils, immediately putting me in a state of calmness.

"Aelia" the owner greeted me as I stepped into the building

"Hi Steve" I smiled sweetly

"Nice to see you're back-  oh my, is that a wedding ring?" he gasped

"Yep, I came back as a new woman" I chuckled

"Ah well, I'm really happy for you" He smiled

"I'm sorry about running out lastnight, some things came up and I just-"

"It's okay, forget about that. The show was incredible, you sounded amazing" Steve said

"Aw thank you" I giggled

"Take a seat, I'll have Harper send over the usual" Steve smiled and guided me towards a window seat

"There's Atleast five guys in here with a camera, I don't know if they think they're sly" Justin chuckled as he slipped into the seat before me

I glanced in the direction of a few men that sat at a table across the room, their cameras were hidden under a scarf while their eyes narrowed to the camera screen.

"It's the Press, they don't care" I said

"Well let's give them a show" Justin chuckled, his hands reached out to intertwine with mine across the table

"I have a meeting tomorrow so I won't be able to make the album signing"

"That's okay, you're really sweet for wanting to come" I smiled

"My manager said I had to go" Justin said, his eyes focused on his phone while he held my hand with the other

"Oh-" I mumbled

"Here you go ma'am, compliments of Mr Hardway" A waitor said, the dark skinned boy smiled widely

"Thank you" I said as my hands gripped the coffee

I barley noticed Justin's eyes watched the boy strongly

"I'm such a huge fan Ms Green. I just wanted to say hi" the boy said, I giggled

"Hi, nice to meet you" I smiled

"Ugh your music is ama-"

"You said hi. You can leave now" Justin said, I furrowed my brows at him

"Sorry, I'll get out of your hair" The boy mumbled before speeding away

"That was kinda harsh" I mumbled

"He's blocking our good side" Justin shrugged

I looked around to everyone. Students sat around with their laptops, helping each other find ways to make their lives and loves better. I missed this. The coffee, the music and the smile of someone who cared, it's a fragment of heaven, a chance to enjoy company and to start to want more.

Then I was here with a man who paid more attention to his phone than a simple conversation.

I remembered the days the gay's and I would go to the old coffee shop building after school. The warm liquid always made the everyday stress of school a little bit easier as we walked about random conspiracies of the universe.

"How is everything going with the movie?" I asked

"Fine" Justin muttered, a smile reached his face when he saw something on his phone

"Are you excited? It's your first film" I smiled

"Yep" he answered

"I heard your album just hit platinum, I'm really happy for you" I smiled again

"Thanks" he said

"Oh.." I whispered

Honestly, Justin and I were never around each other for more than an hour. Yeah we slept in the same bed but that doesn't mean we talked with each other in our dreams.

We were both busy people, our jobs took up most of our lives. There was never time for Justin and I to actually get to know each other. The most he knows about me is my parents, my friends and my last name. That was it. Literally.

"Who was that girl from lastnight?" he asked.

And there it was, a question I was dreading to hear. I didn't want to lie but I couldn't tell the truth either way

"An old friend"

"Weird friends you have" he said

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"Nothing, just she was weird. Coming on stage during our moment" Justin muttered

"she's odd" I answered

"No kidding"

"Don't talk about her like that, please?" I whispered

"Her face is all over the gossip channels instead of my proposal, I think I have the right to be pissed" He said

"I understand that... But like I said, she's odd. You just wouldn't understand"

"Whatever Aelia" He mumbled

Honestly, I didn't know how to react. The man returned to his phone, laughing at something on the screen.

Is he being serious right now?
