Chapter 67 - Any thoughts?

A/N - mild sexual content in this chapter

"You okay there?"

Dean looked over his shoulder when he noticed Allegra was taking forever coming down the stairs.

"Yeah, just... gimme a sec."

She winced, halting halfway to lean against the wall for support. He cursed silently. He should've thought about this sooner. Of course Allegra would be sore all over. Things got more than steamy last night. The hot shower should have relieved some of the aching muscles, but there was only so much to be done against the awkward sensation she must be feeling inside her.
Dean hurried back up the stairs and took her hand, guiding her slowly, step by step. Once down, he picked her up, ignoring her startled objections, and carried her to the kitchen. He gently put her on one of the stools at the counter.

"Now, you relax, and I'll make us breakfast. Or brunch. Whatever."

"Wait, you can cook?" asked Allegra in surprise.

"My dad was always on the road; I had to give Sammy something decent to eat once in a while." Dean smirked as he rummaged through the cupboards and closets to gather what he needed.

"Didn't he drop the two of you off at Bobby's?"

"Not always. If it was an easy case, he just left us alone in the motel we were staying at. Sometimes, we'd stay there for days on end without a word from him."

"Wow... Okay, so you win crappy childhood."

"It wasn't all bad. It's just... the life of a Hunter."

Allegra gave a little nod and shifted in her seat. Dean felt a pang of guilt when she winced again.

"Dean, stop it." She suddenly rolled her eyes at him. "I'm okay, I promise. It's nothing a painkiller won't fix."

"What are you...?" Dean furrowed his brow at her, but then, it dawned on him. "Open broadcast?"

"Open broadcast. I must say, you got some pretty interesting thoughts when I got out of the shower, Winchester."

Dean quickly averted himself before his girlfriend could see the blush appearing on his cheeks and focused on making brunch. He preheated the oven and threw some bacon in a piping hot frying pan before he started working on the pancake batter. He hadn't made this particular dish in years, but the ingredients were all present, and they could definitely use the energy boost.

At first, Allegra watched him in silence, and he occasionally threw her a glance, enjoying her casual look with her hair half-dry and loose around her shoulders and her favorite AC/DC top with black sweatpants. But soon enough, Allegra started teasing him about his cooking skills... and bedroom skills. Dean kept his back to her, grinning like an idiot. He did not need any further distractions (it was already very hard to ignore her bra-less breasts with those firm nipples peaking underneath that top); he had to make sure the pancakes were just right.
As soon as they were done, he put a couple of them on an oven plate, topped each with ham, bacon, and cheese, and put them in for a soft grill. When Dean then took out the maple syrup, he heard Allegra's voice again. The things she was saying almost made him drop the bottle.

"Damn, Allegra, ease up a bit, will ya?" Dean turned back to her, his face flushed red at her words.

Allegra was staring at him with dreamy eyes, chin leaning on the knuckles of her right hand, but drew back when he spoke.

"What?" she asked, seemingly confused.

"I mean, it's not like I don't want it, but are you sure you're ready to go full oral on me?" questioned Dean. "'Cause I don't want you to unless you are. It's not for everyone, and you did only just lose your vir-..."

"Wow, wow, stop right there!" Allegra held her hand up to shut him up. "Dean, what the hell are you talking about?"

"Didn't you just say you wanted to go down on me and lick maple syrup off... me?"

Allegra tilted her head at him.

"I haven't said a word the entire time you were cooking. I was just watching you."

"But I heard you..."

His words fell away when he heard Allegra's voice again. There was only one problem; her lips weren't moving.

"What the hell is going on? How does he know what I was thinking? Did I say something out loud without realizing it?"

Dean moved around the counter and stood right in front of Allegra. He looked straight into her eyes, and Allegra shifted uncomfortably.

"What is he doing now? Why is he looking at me like that? Oh God, do I have something on my face?"

"No... No, your face is beautiful," said Dean.

"Well, thank y-..." Allegra gasped. "Dean, how did you know I was thinking about my face?"

"I-I'm not sure. But I heard you loud and clear, just as I'm hearing you now."

They stared at each other, unsure of what to make of this. The oven timer went off and made the couple jump. Dean stepped back to the oven, not wanting to let a perfectly good meal (or so he hoped) go to waste. They might as well discuss this unexpected turn of events over breakfast. Brunch. Whatever.

"Oh my God, Dean, this is incredible!" exclaimed Allegra after taking a bite of the pancake sandwich. "You're making me breakfast every day, mister!"

"Guess I'll have to find some other recipes, then."

Allegra beamed at him and took another bite. Now that she smelled and tasted food, she realized how hungry she actually was. They hadn't eaten anything last night, and the lemon meringue pie was still on the end of the counter where she left it to cool off. They hadn't even made it to the drive-in. Not that watching Willie Wonka could've ever topped the activity they'd done instead, but she had been looking forward to their date.

"Okay, so let's go over everything calmly now," said Dean when they finished eating.

"Right. Okay, do you... God, this is crazy, but do you think this happened because we... had sex? You couldn't hear my thoughts before we slept together, could you? I mean, that's the only thing that changed in the last 24 hours, so... if we look at this logically..."

"Yeah, maybe." Dean poured himself another cup of coffee while Allegra was still on her tea. "I thought you were talking to me before in bed as well, but now that I think of it, you had your face averted or covered with your hands. I must've been picking up on your thoughts then too."

Allegra realized he was right. It certainly would explain some of the reactions he'd given. This was insane.

"We sure it wasn't the hellion, though?" offered Dean.

"What would be her gain in having our minds linked?" countered Allegra.

"I don't know, but she did say we were the ones she was really after."

Lady Aosoth indeed mentioned something about a mutually beneficial arrangement, hadn't she? Her first suspect was Crowley, but the bastard would never jeopardize his own deal with her, and how would he even know Dean was back? Then again, it wouldn't be the first time he sent a little spy after Allegra. Just because demons couldn't get close to the house didn't mean they weren't around town. But what did he stand to gain from having Allegra and Dean sleep together? Unless he was counting on killing Dean that way...

"I'm not so sure about Crowley," said Dean. "But we know a certain Cupid who was pretty insistent on the two of us hooking up."

Allegra looked up in surprise.

"How did...? Mind link, right."

"Welcome to my world."

She punched his shoulder playfully as he grinned and winked at her before getting serious again.

"You really believe Amore would pull a stunt like this?" she wondered aloud.

"Angels have done worse," said Dean with a dark look in his bright eyes.

"True." Allegra sighed and her nails scratched over the counter. "Dammit, I should've killed her and Naomi when I had the chance. All those lives might have been saved."

"Okay, A; you don't know that. B; better to work with the devil - or angel - you know, than facing a whole new douchebag. And C; even though I agree that it sucks for those poor folks who died, I... I can't say I'm sorry 'cause... well..."

He caressed Allegra's fingers with the tip of his own. That small and delicate touch was enough to send shivers down Allegra's spine. She bit her lip as she recalled what those same fingers had done to her last night and all those other nights since their trip to Manhattan. It really felt so different from doing it yourself. The need to lose just that small amount of control was something Allegra hadn't even known she craved until she experienced it. And boy, did Dean make her lose control!
She glanced up, catching Dean's curious yet intense gaze. Suddenly, he smirked. He slipped off his seat and made Allegra turn on her stool so she was with her back to the counter. He pushed her legs open and came to stand in between them. Allegra took his sent in; he smelled absolutely amazing, like... fresh-cut lavender.

"Put your arms around my neck," Dean spoke seductively.

Allegra did as he asked. Their bodies pressed together when Dean's left hand gave her a little push in the small of her back. She moved a bit, sitting at the edge of the stool now. She wondered what he was going to do.
Dean planted a sweet kiss on her mouth. He tasted like maple syrup. Allegra let the tip of her tongue trail over his lips before parting her own to let him in. The kiss deepened. It was pure bliss. It was...
She gasped and pulled away when she felt a sudden brush at her mound. Her sneaky boyfriend had been distracting her with that kiss, all so he could slip his hand beneath the waistband of her pants and underwear. She met his green eyes; they were shimmering with a distinct golden edge. And they were asking her for permission.

"Those were private thoughts, Dean," Allegra reprimanded playfully.

"Open broadcast," he said huskily. "Say the word, and I'll stop."

"Don't you dare, Winchester."

Allegra leaned in, letting their mouths touch again. She grasped the back of Dean's dark-blue T-shirt, bracing herself for what she knew would follow. When he delved in between her folds, it took everything out of her to keep the position she was currently in. She kept kissing Dean as he stroked and pushed at her entrance. Allegra felt herself get wet around his fingers. They moved even better because of it.
Dean teased her for a little while longer, but then he began to stroke her clit. Quick, decisive, perfect circular motions. Allegra broke away from their hot kisses and leaned her forehead against his. Her breath caught. She moaned softly, whimpering Dean's name as he pressed a bit harder. Her fingers clawed at the T-shirt. It was a good thing he was wearing the damn thing; otherwise, he would have several more scratch marks on his back.

The sensation in Allegra's core pulsed through her. It filled every part of her. She swayed her hips, riding against Dean's hand and surrendering to ecstasy. His fingers drove her to climax as they played her expertly, quickening the pace and pressure. She cried out as her lower body spasmed, elation taking complete hold of her.
Allegra held on to Dean with all her might, desperate for support. He caught her lips in an eager kiss, stripping Allegra of her last breath. Her heart somersaulted in her chest as it struggled to keep beating. Oh, well... there were worse ways to die.
Dean let go of her mouth. Allegra panted heavily and leaned her head against his shoulder. She felt his fingers leaving her warmth. The mere brush against her as he slipped out of her clothes sent flutters through her entire body.

"Keep your arms around me," said Dean softly.

He stepped back to push her legs together and picked her up bridal-style. The next thing she knew, Allegra was on the couch and covered with the fluffy blanket she forgot to put away after those couple of weeks of Winter.

"I'll be right here if you need me." Dean lovingly caressed her hair.

Between the amazing sex from the night before and the devastating orgasm from just now, Allegra felt her eyes grow tired. She couldn't even manage to speak anymore. So instead, she thought about what she wanted him to know.

"Dean... I'm so happy it was you."

***

Making sure not to disturb Allegra, Dean tiptoed back into the kitchen. He put the tiny vintage radio on the window sill, ensuring the volume wasn't too high, and searched for his favorite rock station, based right here in Kansas, to listen to as he did the dishes. The radio host said something about it being a clear sky, thus ideal for stargazing. It gave Dean an idea for a picnic later, even if it was only in their backyard.

Wow, our backyard... When did that happen?

He chuckled lightly as he began to think of everything that had led to him and Allegra being in this moment, living what appeared to be a regular life (or, at least, as close to one as they could have while still solving cases). They'd been through so much together, more than any couple usually does. Somehow, they found their way back to each other, pulled in by their love. Now, finally, everything they had both hoped for was coming true.
But there was still one thing that nudged on the surface of his mind. Something that he couldn't ignore. Not since their talk this morning. But first, he had to make sure he was really alone with his thoughts.

Dean quickly finished the dishes and then went back into the living room to check if Allegra was still asleep. He smiled when he found his angel all tucked up and perfectly adorable on the couch. Feeling more assured now, he walked back to the kitchen to go out on the back porch, taking the radio along. He sank down on the steps, inhaling the crisp air when a soft breeze tingled at his face. The grass was still wet from the morning dew and glistened in the sunlight. It was peaceful enough for Dean to gather his thoughts.

I gotta keep a close eye on things now. That future Turiel showed me is probably not even gonna happen anymore, considering Allegra picked me and not Sam, but...

He felt a grin appear on his face.

Hell, we could've already made our baby boy yesterday. And even if it didn't happen, who's to say it won't? I promised Allegra I would wear protection as long as she wants me to, which I'll definitely do, and I'm sure she'll get the pill if she wants to be extra careful, but... I mean, those things aren't 100% fail-safe. Accidents happen.

Dean heard Bobby's voice again. If it's meant to be, it's meant to be; that's what his mentor told him. He held on to it. Because, yes, Dean wanted to have that little boy with Allegra. He pressed his lips together, thinking about how a baby would impact his life.
If there was one thing remotely holding Dean back was the fact that he didn't consider himself to be father-material. It wasn't like he had the best of role models, to begin with, despite his own dad and even Bobby trying their best. The last thing a Hunter should have is a family. They didn't need the weight of worrying for a lovedone's safety when on the road. And not knowing if the next hunt was going to be his last was an unfair burden to place on those waiting at home as well. Because the sad truth and harsh reality of it was that, one way or another, sooner or later, something would come knocking. The Winchesters learned that the hard way.

The old Dean would never have taken on that big a responsibility. He scratched it out of his book completely after Emma, in fact. But then, he had his time-hopping trip, and to just ignore what he saw and what he could have with Allegra... The idea of a family had been back on the table before he knew it.
So, maybe, the time had come. Settle down, get a decent and respectable job, and just live the good life from now on, here or anywhere Allegra wanted. Stop leading a Hunter's existence and live quietly with the woman he loved and their future son. No more demons, no more angels, no more monsters, no more...

Dean shut the radio down when he heard Allegra's cell phone ringing inside. He sighed and got up, hurrying back into the house. He didn't want to ruin the good buzz he was feeling with another wackjob case, but he should at least see who it was. He reached for the phone on the counter where Allegra had left it but froze when he saw the name on the screen.
The phone stopped ringing, and Dean just stared at it, hoping that that would be it. He could simply erase the call and pretend it never came in. Allegra would never need to know. It was a dick move, but he was seriously considering taking it if there wasn't a... The phone buzzed, and Dean saw the dreaded message appearing.

'1 new voicemail from - Sam Winchester.'

Son of a bitch!

And what are your thoughts, I wonder? You've made it this far, so I'm assuming you like this story and would thus indulge me in sharing your theories. Do you think Dean and Allegra would make good parents if she were already pregnant? Can we see our boy settling down, or will it be once a Hunter, always a Hunter? And what, oh, what could Sam possibly want now after so many months of not seeing or talking to Allegra?

I'll leave you guessing till the next chapters to find out ;-) Stay tuned, and thank you so much for reading and supporting this story!
