Chapter Seven

We arrived back at 221 Baker Street. I stepped out of the police car and made my way up to the door with John. "Hey Alice!" Lestrade shouted. "Try not to kill him." I smiled and giggled then walked in after John unlocked the door.

I dragged myself up the stairs to 221B and opened the door to find Sherlock in his chair. "Great. You're back." He sarcasticly said.

"I don't want to be." I mumbled then sat on the sofa.

"This is so entertaining." He didn't turn his head towards me at all. He just stared at a wall.

"How is this entertaining?"

"I just find it entertaining how you didn't want to face the truth about your mother so you ran away from the problem."

"I didn't run away from the problem. There is no problem conserning my mother." I stood up and stomped over to Sherlock. "The problem is that you think you're so clever when really you're an arrogant coward hiding in his own reality." My voice had raised higher than it ever did before. Sherlock faced me. "Well clearly you believe me. You just don't want to admit it." I suddenly had no control and slapped Sherlock around the face. John was watching this quietly but stepped in to pull me away from Sherlock after I slapped him. "Is that it? I've had worse." I went to lunge towards him but John blocked me. Tears were streaming down my face and I made angry grunts as I tried to pass John.

A voice shouted from the stairs. "What the hell is going on up here?" A woman shouted. She came up the stairs and appeared in the flat. "So? Is anyone going to tell me? Who's this?" The woman had light hair and looked a bit old. She looked kind but at the moment she was startled by the shouting. "Mrs Hudson this is Alice. Alice this is Mrs Hudson. Alice is my daughter and Mrs Hudson is our landlady." Sherlock explained.

"You have a daughter?" Mrs Hudson asked. She was even more suprised by this news.

"Yes did you not hear what I just said. She's my daughter and she's now living with me."

"Why wasn't I told?"

"Because I only found out yesterday."

"Also, why is she crying?"

"She cant accept the truth about her mother." I tried to lunge again but I was once again stopped by John. "Sherlock, you're clearly upsetting her."

"Mrs Hudson, can you take Alice downstairs and make her a tea or something while I sort Sherlock out." John suggested.

Mrs Hudson led me downstairs to her kitchen where I sat down at her small table. She made tea for both of us then sat in front of me. "What was that all about?" She asked.

"Sherlock is accusing my mum of being in a gang." I answered.

"Is that why you're here?"

"No. My mum died yesterday in a car accident."

"Oh. I'm sorry love."

"It's okay."

"How old are you dear?"

"Fifteen. I turn sixteen in four weeks. I've just left school."

"That's nice dear. I never imagined Sherlock to have a teenage daughter." We silenced ourselves as we heard John shouting at Sherlock. "John isn't too happy with him."

I went back upstairs after they had finished arguing and I had finished my tea. Sherlock was sitting in his chair and John was sitting opposite. "You okay Alice?" John asked. I nodded. I walked up to my room and entered. It wasn't that big but it would do. I changed into my pyjamas then got into bed. It was only about eight o'clock but I was so tired.

As I was about to drift off to sleep, something kept tapping at the window. I sat up, walked over to the window and looked down. I couldn't see anyone in the darkness but I could see small stones being thrown at the window. I opened up the window to see if I could see anyone but darkness was starting to cover the street below. The stones stopped but then I felt something hit my face. I yelped as the impact of the rock that flew through the window hit my head hard. I was pushed to the floor.

John and Sherlock came into the room. John kneeled down next to me. "Are you okay? What happened?" He asked.

"Big rock and a window. Take a guess." I answered. Sherlock picked up the rock and looked out of the window. There was a note attatched to the rock. He undid the string which attatched the two and read the note to himself. "What does it say?" John asked.

"Watch your back Alice." He read. My heart sunk in my chest.
