Chapter XVII: Trapped
Among the dreams of wishful hopes and adventurous journies, I never saw myself turning into a killer, never in my life held a gun, never wanted to take someone down with a pistol and a vindictive smile. Here I was, getting to the edge of being a well-known killer, slowly turning into someone I hated to be.
Why I dated Levy? it wasn't because he killed people, but because I knew that in his heart was a heavy black waiting to get out of its chambers to give his pure heart a chance in change. Anyone in their right minds could take a look at me staring at the amazing piece of art and think that I was completely, deeply, and irrevocably in love with Levy, my piece of art.
"We need to get out of here." His dad whispered to both of us as we snapped from our daze. We had been sitting for far too long and my body begged to move forward to stretch.
Both brothers stormed off and out of the kitchen, shouting off more curses, as they closed their hotel room, we didn't hesitate to stand up behind the couch and groan in pain as my back let out cracking sounds due to the overbearing weight.
"This is why I didn't want to work with you in your company, I hate sitting for so long," Levy stated to his dad, who was busy looking towards the kitchen as if some random stranger was going to attack us.
"We have made the most mistake in our entire life." his dad said alarmingly as my eyes started to scan around until it stopped on the undiscovered tracking device under the table we laid, I tried to remember if we had it in our pockets but I couldn't get to a conclusion.
Silvia dropped my gun as she crouched beside me.
"You could have become Mr. Denis's meal,"
My eyes widened in revelation when Mr. Clay Martin's eyes met mine when we both discovered where was the tracking gadget.
It was in my pocket, that manipulative vixen had put it when I was focusing on killing Mr. Denis, she took that to her advantage and another strong evidence was that the tracking device had dropped on the same position I had sat on.
"She tricked me," I confessed I was surprised that I hadn't realized it until now.
"We need to go, right now." Mr. Clay said. We quickly ran off to the kitchen, where knives were placed on the wooden table and the floor was slippery from how clean it was. We walked carefully and clogged in our places when we noticed that the brothers purposely shut the exit door tightly with metal bars neatly above each other drilled into the door.
"Oh God, what are we going to do?" I asked as my mind was having a meltdown. I was absurd when I thought that I could be a potential killer, I didn't even know a tanned killer put a tracking device in my pocket, how was I supposed to know how we could escape?
"I remember Silvia said there was an exit underground." Levy furrowed his eyebrows as he tried to remember as his amber eyes stayed staring ahead until a smirk formed on his face as he guided us towards the room where the brothers slept in.
"So where is it?" I questioned.
"I'm standing on it, sweetheart." He chuckled when he said that as he stood on a lime-coloured carpet, we shared a small laugh at my smug boyfriend and helped him get rid of the dense carpet to reveal a steel closed door, with Levy's combined force with his dad, they were able to open the door triumphantly.
We proceeded down the underground exit and landed on the ground, his dad following behind us after he fixed the carpet and closed the exit door behind him. Our plan didn't turn out the way we had expected but it was better than nothing.
We were able to escape at least. I thought as Levy held my hand since he knew that I was a clumsy person in the dark, so I let him drag me to wherever he walked.
"Couldn't they clean off their underground exit?" Mr. Clay complained and we chuckled at his discomfort as he plugged his nose with his hand and continued to talk in a funny sound, "this place stinks."
My feet hurt so Levy offered to carry me, I accepted gleefully like I had been waiting for him to ask me that. The underground exit was like sewage, it was filled with unidentifiable insects and had seaweeds in a black lake where the wastes went.
I wrapped my arms around Levy's neck as his arms held my legs tightly so I didn't fall as my 5'6 height helped in carrying me with his 6'0 height along with his sexy broad shoulders that were comfortable as my head leaned on his right shoulder.
After half an hour walking and a panting Levy, we arrived at the upper ground exit so we trailed behind each other over the steps out of hell as sweat beads formed on our foreheads, we were officially exhausted. It was darkest to the extent where our eyes blinked many times to adjust to a much brighter night compared to the underground exit.
"Finally, earth!" Levy shouted with a smirk and I giggled at my crazy boyfriend, his Dad patting his back with a similar smirk on his face, we happily walked forward, reaching the familiar sidewalk of the hotel until we stopped like deer caught in headlights.
Standing there with a victory smile and brightened eyes were the most terrifying two men in California.
Mr. Denis and Mr. Clarence were the ones who looked ecstatic to see us as they both approached us. Everything happened in slow motion as Levy came in front of me and his dad stood beside him in a confident stance.
"Mr. Clay Martin, welcome home." Mr. Denis greeted with darkened eyes.
